Melanie, I would love to do Remy, the price really doesn't bug me considering the quality of food, a meal with a similar menu would be in the $150-$200/person range here. But I have read that it is a 3hr+ meal and the 2hrs in the normal dinning room annoys me, lol. We always tell the Palo server that we don't mind a shorter meal time and we have been please to have our last couple of Palo meals be in the 1.75 hr range.

Thought about it. We'll not be Gold by this cruise so I'm not sure that I'll have a shot. I guess it depends upon how much I've managed to save by then. At the same time I'm saving for this cruise, I'll be trying to pay off my Feb '12 MR Cruise so I have my doubts.

Hi everyone. We returned yesterday from the 3/10 Dream cruise to check out the ship. We'll be on this cruise as well.

We were absolutely overwhelmed by the beauty of the Dream and
experienced none of the problems often heard from previous reports on the DIS.

It has been my experience that I am nowhere near as observant or picky and some on the DIS can be. In the past I've worked my self into a whole world of worry over nothing because of what I've read on the DIS. This is a great resource for information but, judging a ship that is only 1 month out of the shipyards seems to be a stretch for me.

Anyone thinking of booking Remy? I would love to experience it, but am having a hard time with the 75$ per person upcharge. Thoughts?

I'm thinking about it for the night of my 10th anniversary -- hopefully I will be able to get a ressie -- and will be able to have the kids go to the Oceaneers lab that evening. I seem to get the impression that $75 seems to be a bargain for the experience and quality of food.

Is anyone thinking of excursions for Nassau or just staying on the ship? I've been to Nassau so many times that I'm inclined to do the latter but I think the kids might enjoy the Atlantis.

We are going to get off the ship, snap a picture in the Welcome to the Bahamas Frame, and then get right back on the ship and treat it like a day at sea. This will be our third time there, so that is plenty for us .

I think that we'll do the Atlantis tour. I doubt that we'll be going to the waterpark. I think it's just too expensive. Still trying to decide if I'll to the Atlantis tour on this cruise or the one immediately before it. On my second Nassau day, I'll not even bother getting off the ship.

We did on the Deam MV and will do it again on one if these B2B (maybe both if I can get reservations, but at least one). On the MV, they said the menu changes every 6 months and it will be 9mos in October so, I want to check out the menu.

While I highly recommend it ($75 is worth it), I'll withhold it on the paired tasting. We did both the meal and tasting ($75+$99/pp) on the MV and while the pairings were amazing and what is described during the wine tastings. I am not that big of a wine drinker and $99 is rather steep. I would rather skip the wine tasting and just do the meal twice. Be aware tho, that unlike the regular meals and Palo, drinks are extra in Remy's (and that includes the bottled water, bubbly or still).

PS, I also plan at least one Palos brunch on this B2B. Luckly, we are gold so there might be a chance. (We'll be platinum after the B2B).

I think in Nassau we are just staying on the ship been there many times and figure we'll take advantage of less people on the ship to explore it.

Was looking at pictures of the private island the place looks awesome can't wait.

Castaway Cay, is Awesome. If it were the ONLY stop I would still cruise DCL. In fact the big selling point for me doing a B2B was that I would enjoy that island twice in a week. (and not pay the over-inflated double-dipping fares)

Woo hoo I can't wait for the double dip too! We have never had a nice day at Castaway Cay in 3 cruises. 1st time-rain, 2nd time-cloudy & chilly/rain & 3rd time-missed the Island entirely because of a darn tropical storn. So we are due some great CC days!

Over at the Adult beach BBQ, there has been lobster and steak on offer for many cruises.

WOW I guess we have been lucky, in 6 cruises (2 with double CC days) we have never had a bad CC day. One or two may have been cool but, then we just enjoyed the views, food and shopping without going into the water and it was still better than being home and at work.


Long dinners have been our mainstay on the ship, typically at home I think dinner only last 30mins if that since we tend to eat late and while watching TV (no set dinners). On the ship, we have late seating and never tend to get out before 10:30 (so, 2-2.5 hours) and we always seem a little rushed. When we ate ate Remy's, we ate a 8:30 and did not get out until almost midnight, we did not feel rushed or even noticed how long the meal was as we were all just amazed and enjoying the taste of the food, presentation, etc. Next time we eat at Remy's, I do want an earlier reservation just so the kitchen does not close until after we are done (we missed a couple of seconds due to kitchen already closed).

Now, I do want to state that our food ordering is a little extreme, typically, at home we eat only one entree (my wife cooks) and maybe a salad and no desert. On the ship, (whether Main Dinning, Palo's, Remy's) it is the complete opposite in that we order 99% of what is on the menu (main and dessert) and graze thru all the dishes as if each dinner is a Food Tasting, so 2-3 hrs is the norm and we enjoy the food and conversations, heck where else are we going to go and we ARE on vacation.

I would like to report in to this cruise

We are in room 5650... and we will be doing a B2B (our 1st b2b) and this will be our 1st cruise on the Dreams. We have always wanted a room on aft Deck 5 but with 2 kids & 2 adults. On The Magic & Wonder those rooms only slept 3. So this is our big break to finally get an aft deck 5 room (So this is literally a "dream" come true).

We will have 4 in our family DW (up there in age) DD 12, DS 18 and Myself

Also traveling With us is My Father-in-Law & Bride (5652)

And a Family friend (56xx do not remember room but its one of the inside forward rooms on deck 5

So We will have a Tassle of friends & Kin with us..

Caught up on the earlier posts, looks like a fine bunch..... My only complaint is having to wait 7 more months...

7 months is nothing, it will pass quickly. Think about it, 2-3 more months of school, summer vacation, then 7 weeks of school in the fall, and then we are cruising.

I have done a 23 month wait for the Westbound Transatlantic cruise, that took for ever!
