10/23/11 - Disney Dream

Hey Melanie, any chance on getting the Fat Gent on the board? :rotfl:

I talked to him yesterday and he said he'll be on this week. We'll see.

Hey Steve.........looks like great minds think alike helping MissFit sell the b2b.
I have emailed back & forth with him & told him to come on over, but I am thinking he hasn't been hanging out on the DIS much. He'll cave eventually you know because he likes to play too much. ;)

It's actually Jeff. Steve is "dsnydaddy".

Yes, B2B is the way to go. I couldn't believe it priced up less than the Magic did for the same week. Plus we get the new ship. I thought for sure we'd pay more.

Yes, AFEG will show up eventually. And yes, he does like to play too much.

We're actually doing the B2B on 10/23 and 10/27. Like Melanie said, treat the Nassau days as a sea day. We're doing that. We will go ashore on one of the days just to go to the straw market and get an Xmas ornament. Then back on the ship. We will stay on the ship the second stop there and explore the Dream.

We thought about doing Atlantis (may still do it if the room rates in Oct are a steal), but the ship has so much to see, we will need the extra day to explore.

Sell it to your husband that he'll get 2 days in CC. :thumbsup2

The more I think about it the more I think the B2B is the way to go...I had planned to do a vow renewal on the 10/27 cruise but for what I would spend on that we can book the 10/23 cruise...and like I said, the kids are young, if we pull them out of school for the 4-night what would and extra day or two be for the 3-night (plus it's early elementary school so they won't miss much). Plus...it's our 10-year anniversary...that doesn't happen every day.

Well, it sounds like I don't need much convincing -- just hubby. But wouldn't a week-long cruise instead on just 3-nigfhts be the ultimate anniversary surprise :thumbsup2

Thanks for the advice and hopefully I'll be with the rest of you doing the B2B...

Good luck and Happy Anniversary!

We have no problem pulling DS out of school for the 4-5 days we'll be down (he has off that Thur and Fri to begin with) and he'll be 11. We just make sure we do all the homework/test BEFORE we go. That way, he isn't lost and playing catch up on the back side.

If you need any more help convincing DH, let us know. We can give you more ideas.

Thanks Steve. I may make a door magnet out of it too! :teeth: It's super cute.

Sounds Great! I'll be doing the same.:thumbsup2

I'm with you on this one Jeff. If I can get a deal on an Atlantis room then We'll do it, otherwise our one day in Nassau will be a quick one and the next will be on the ship.

The two days at CC are what really helped sell the B2B to me. I love that Island.

One more thing, if you use the Large version posted on Page 12, and the resolution is not so hot, PM me with your email address and I'll send the Original on to you. On the last cruise graphic I did, people were telling me that the photobucket had dropped the resolution down to the point that when they increased the size the graphic, it looked pretty poor.

Opps sorry Jeff. Goofed already. :rolleyes1

Ok I sure will! Thanks.

Alright, count me in for the B2B :yay::yay::yay:

I decided to scrap the vow renewal I had planned and use the money to book the 10/23 cruise -- and then I used some DVC points toward the 10/27 cruise.

So sign me up for this thread and allow me to introduce myself (Linda)...I will be travelling with my DH and our DD ( will be 8 at the time of the cruise) and DS (will be 6). This will be our 4th and 5th DCL cruises. (been on RCCL cruises too) Never did a B2B before so very unsure of the process. Hope there are a lot of other families on board (I know it's tough during the school year...I haven't taken out of school for trips before but this is such a rare event and I plan on getting them work to take with them.

I look forward to getting to know my fellow cruisers over the next few months :thumbsup2

Btw, we are getting pelted with an ice storm today so the thought of this cruise is really saving me!

I hope everyone is staying warm and safe through all these storms! HUrry up October :thumbsup2

Welcome to the cruise Chris. Glad you made it here.

Question about "things may change" and "kids', are you and Hazel having another child? :rotfl2:

Cold and snowy and windy here in WI. We're actually under a Civil Danger Warning in Southern WI.

The drift on the back side of the house is about 5' high (against one of the windows).

Yes, October can't come soon enough.

Hey! Chris! It's great to hear from you. Glad you're onboard.

Morning Steve.

Did you check out the corner room pics on some of the threads? Not sure if I like. Need to see some other angles.

Not too much snow in Colorado. But it is freezing!!! It's -15 outside right now :(. At least we get to be in the Florida sun in a couple months!

I did see those. They're oddball alright. I've heard that they still have good headroom. But I think I know why some are handicap accessible and some aren't. It's those support poles. I'm thinking that they block wheelchair mobility. Biggest bummer about the rooms are the extreme slant and placement of the windows. Can't really enjoy the view as much as the regular cabins. You just get the benefit of the natural lighting. But if it's extra room you want, those rooms look like you could really stretch out in them.
