We are the friends and I finally got around to checking out this board! This is our first Disney Cruise as well and we embark on my birthday and 4 days after my daughter's birthday. How awesome is that?! Myself (Lisa), my dear husband Tony and my two kids, Joshua (6, but he points out he'll be seven 3 weeks later) and Paige (will turn 4 four days before we embark). We are from Illinois and are very excited to be visiting the islands. We look forward to spending time with our great friends and meeting all of you!:cool1:

Welcome aboard! :sail:

Welcome Lisa, Tony, Joshua and Paige! :welcome:

I'm Kathy traveling with my brother Frank and my parents Fran & Ralph.

Please let us know if you have any questions - there's a a lot of experienced cruisers on this thread.

So, a question for my fellow Parleyers and expert cruisers...

We have linked reservations between 3 groups. Ours and Natalie's reservations were made through DCL but transfered to Dreams. Our other friends made their reservation through DCL and it is still with them. All three cruises are paid in full, however we and Natalie are Silver CC members and our friends are first timers. Our Dreams rep linked the reservations for dining purposes, but I was led to believe that I would also be able to make Palo reservations for us all when the time comes (at 5am next Sunday morning :scared1:)

The trouble is, there is nothing on the DCL website that shows we have linked reservations. Will it all appear, as if by magic, when online booking opens up? Or if it is not showing now, does that mean I won't be able to book Palo for them? I am really confused, we've never booked Palo or anything else before :confused3

It doesn't matter if you booked through DCL or Dreams - we've been making our cruise reservations on board and then switching them to a TA right away. All that matters is that you are linked.

Yes, the linked reservations will appear by magic once your cruise is paid and your booking window is open. It actually says "Your travel party includes Guests in all staterooms associated with your stateroom." You select a "Primary Guest" from the people in your room, and the people you are linked with will show up as "Other Guests in your travel party".

Now here's the bad news: My brother and I are in one stateroom linked to my parents in another stateroom. We are Gold CC and they are Silver. Although they showed up under "Other Guests..." and the screen allowed me to select them, I got an error when I clicked on 'continue'. The Palo reservation just gave me an error but the excursion screen had 'Booking window not yet open.' next to my parents name. However, it did allow me to make 2 - 1 person reservations - one under my name and one under Frank's. Since they don't have any 1 person tables...

I didn't call because I figured there was nothing I could do about it.

As far as you and your friend Natalie, don't forget that only ONE person at a time can make reservations on linked reservations. So you and Natalie can not be logged into the system and booking at the same time. Most people usually have 1 person make all of the reservations.

Hope that helps. :flower3:

So, is that what you would recommend then? Making two separate bookings for the same date/time? There are five adults in all and, presumably, we can either see if there are any openings for 5 once their booking window opens at 75 days or we can try and change it about a bit once we're on board.

As far as you and your friend Natalie, don't forget that only ONE person at a time can make reservations on linked reservations. So you and Natalie can not be logged into the system and booking at the same time. Most people usually have 1 person make all of the reservations.

No danger of that, Kathy, as Natalie will be languishing in Turkey with her other half when our online booking window opens so I guess I am that designated person that has to be up at 5 IN THE MORNING ON A SUNDAY

The family cabanas are $500. The cabanas at Serenity Bay are "only" $400. Must be smaller or something. :umbrella:

Yes, yes, I am the brother of Kathy (NJ Princess). As she said, I do not post very often and in fact, haven't been looking at the DIS lately, but she convinced me to "show" myself. And I plan on Mass that Sunday morning. I will be getting in touch with my friend Dorothy, Group Specialist, in September. She has always made it easy. And it has been in the Navigator.

Welcome Frank. Nice to finally "see" you here. :thumbsup2 Since we missed out on the Palo group ressie, I'm first in line for the cabana...as long as you're paying. :lmao:

So if the ones at Serenity Bay are only $400, does that mean you're 'treating'? :rolleyes1 (See post 'How many parleyers can you fit in a cabana?')

Whoo hooooooo!!!!:yay::yay:

Kathy is absolutely correct on all points Joh. I have to remind our linked friends to stay off the site on the 24th aswell so we don't get all mixed up. They're gold though and we are silver so it shouldn't be a problem. :)

darn, i wanted to see that show. was it good? i'll have to watch to see if its replayed.

I like behind-the-scenes tours/experiences, so it was really good. :goodvibes In fact, it had a lot of the same information as the tours we have taken at the parks. I'm sure it will be on again. I checked the U.S. CNBC weekly listings (http://www.cnbc.com/id/15837901/) and found it has already aired twice this week, so you could just check back regularly to see when it will air again. :happytv:

Welcome, fellow Parleyers! pirate: The more the merrier, so we're glad to have you aboard. This is a fun group, so jump right in. You might be asked to pick a smoothie preference, chocolate, STRAWBERRY, mango, or vanilla, but we are equal-opportunity smoothie drinkers here, so no pressure on your choices (STRAWBERRY).

Same thing happened to us. I got an error message when we tried to add his mom to our Palo reservations. Funny though, It didn't note that she wasn't eligible, but it did when I went to book our Castaway Cay excursion. On that screen, it had her name greyed out with a note next to it saying she wasn't eligible until 75 days out. I am not going to worry about it - I figure worst-case scenario, the Parleyers take over Palo and we all get what we want! :lmao::lmao:

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Do we want to do a Parrothead Parleyers Meet, with Margaritas?

Any meet that involves alcoholic cocktails sounds good to me - count me in :drinking1

Hey Lisa, welcome aboard! I hear your friends are very charming and extremely attractive!!!

BTW, I thought you technically weren't allowed your first post in the Cruise Meets forum until you've read through all the posts from beginning to end. Somehow, I get the feeling you skipped a few!

August 8th for us newbies.

Question...do you need everyone's passport to do online check in? we are still waiting for our daughters....

no you don't and if something changes you can go back and change things. I'll be doing that since my DD passport number I am thinking will change now that she has gone from a child passport to an adult passport card.
