I, for one, will not be wearing a see-through ensemble at the meets. I think mine is pretty substantial in coverage. Thank goodness.

Diana - I am so excited to see that Miss Ava will finally have her own "bling" to match yours. Although I have to admit that we came up with a pretty darned good alternative last year!

I have underwear packed. And coffee. That is it. I need to find some additional hours this week for packing!!!

Is anyone doing anything on the evening of the 1st? I just saw that there will be a special "Wishes" for the 40th anniversary. Didn't know if anyone would be in the MK that night.

I'm planning to be at MK early in the day. I want to get a commemorative t-shirt! I know it will be a zoo so I'm leaving early afternoon, but I might head back to MK after dinner.

The Wine & Dine Half Marathon and After Party are also that night at Epcot, but I swore off the party after the debacle it was last year.

I know there is 40th merchandise available already, but I'm making an assumption that on the actual day (10/1) they will release special commemorative items.

When I was at Epcot for their 25th (also 10/1!), the (free) guide maps when you entered the park were commemorative (and I later saw some on ebay for $25!!! ).

They had t-shirts marking the day (I bought one), there were special pins (but I couldn't get anywhere near the pin station - the lines were unbelievable!! ). There was other that-day-only merchandise. I picked up a 25th anniversary Figment because Tori has always loved Figment! (The reason it was that-day-only merchandise is because of the hoards of people grabbing for anything with "25" on it!!! )

So my hope on 10/1 is that they'll have a special t-shirt that I can get my hands on!! (I'm not aggressive by any means and I almost didn't get anything because of that!! You had to be quick and you had to be strong!!)

I will try! I was only able to get a "small" at Epcot, but at least I got one! When I wore it several days later, people were asking me if I was a CM!! They didn't think I was working -- I didn't have a nametag -- but they thought I might be visiting on my day off!! Heck yes!!!

I'll be at MK on Saturday. Hopefully I will be able to get a T Shirt. Although I love collecting pins, if the lines are too long, then I will pass on the pins.

There are supposed to be special fireworks at 9 on Saturday too. So I may be spending the entire day at MK.

I hope I'm not misleading everyone!! I'm just going by Epcot's 25th and figuring the 40th at MK will be similar (merchandise-wise)!

The Half Marathon After Party last year was a mess. They sold tickets to anyone - not just family and friends. CM's were encouraging people to spend $35 so they could "stay in Epcot till 3am". The runners got coupons for a food item and a drink, but the lines were so long that many of the runners couldn't use their coupons. Future World wasn't open so there were thousands of us PACKED into World Showcase.

I was one of many who wrote to Disney to let them know how disappointing the party was. Someone called me and we had a nice, long conversation. She told me "they" were having a meeting and would use all the feedback they'd gotten to make the party much better in 2011. She also admitted that the CMs had never cleared the park after Illuminations that night, so besides all the guests who had purchased tickets, there were many there who hadn't.

From what I've read, this year's party WILL be much better and they are giving the runners $10 gift cards instead of the coupons; selling a limited number of party tickets; and most of the rides will be running. I'm sure it will be a nice party -- of course the cost just about doubled!!

I'll be at MK on Saturday. Hopefully I will be able to get a T Shirt. Although I love collecting pins, if the lines are too long, then I will pass on the pins.

We don't get to Orlando until 10:15 on the 1st but I am planning to be at the MK at some point that day. I know it will be crowded, but I have to be there. I am thinking it would be neat to see the special Wishes that night.

I was at Epcot on the 25th too, Laura! And we were in DL for it's 45th.

There are going to be artist signings too that day. I know Jim Shore is going to be there, but I don't remember who else. I am not usually a T-shirt kind of person but I might have to get one for this... I will have to see what it looks like.
