I am just a noob, too, but I can share what I know...

Fish Extenders (FE) are hung outside your stateroom door, and everyone uses them to exchange trinkets. See this post. Let ColoradoDisneyFreaks know if you are interested, she will add you to the list.

The wristbands are so we can see each other coming! Just a way to recognize fellow DIS folks. I think we are going to pay for them when we first meet aboard ship.

Although I often think it means we are in the American League, DH means Dear Husband, Darling Husband, Disney-lovin' Husband, or something like that. There is also DW for Wife, DF is fiance, DB and DG for bride and groom, DS and DD for son and daughter...you get the idea

We are also going to try and reserve the big room in PALO for a dinner or brunch, but we need to have at least 12 on board for that. Let me know if you are interested.

You now have to sign up for a check-in time at the port. You do this when you do your on-line check-in. You need to do all your info before you can pick the check-in time. The earlier you do it the better. The check-in time starts from 11:00-11:30, 11:30-12:00, etc, and goes until 4:00. My DH and me will be on this cruise along with some other friends. We would like to be a part of the FE and will provide the room numbers and names as soon as I get them.

Just one thing I wanted to note to everyone, I won't put your names on the roll call unless you post them for me on the thread.

It makes sense to me. I can't remember if I ever actually stated our names. I'm Alicia and my DF is Alex.

This is our first cruise with DCL and our first cruise with the kids. With all the info we have received from CruiseCritics and DisBoards I feel like a veteran.

There are two rooms in our party, 4 adults & 4 kids. We are working on our FE and also making some for our friends. Shhhhh, it is a surprise for them . Unless they find this post, then the cat is out of the bag.

I admit I was thinking dinner, too, but I don't think I ever made it clear. As you pointed out, we may not have a choice! Do you think we should take a vote to decide our preference?

I talked to my DF about a Palo get-together. (Up until now he'd been in the dark about it all.) And he said that if we did a brunch he'd be all right. He wasn't too crazy about the dinner idea, just because he feels Palo is something we should do,just the two of us. I wouldn't mind either way, but I have to respect DF's wishes.

Linking dining was mentioned a few times in this thread--we have late seating if anyone wants to join us.

I have some nice blank maps of the ship's decks if we want to map out each others' staterooms.

Have we decided where we will meet up to get our cool wristbands?

I share his feelings, I was still going to try and get a dinner reservation for the two of us even if we got the group ressie. I guess it is nothing to worry about anyway unless we get more interested people.

Hey Everyone!!! I hope it's not too late to join in on all the fun!!!

We have had this cruise booked since January, but I have been hesistant to join in because we have had to change the date twice now due to DS school/fall break schedule. It looks like this time is a go

This is our family's first Disney cruise, and first cruise for DS(8) and DD(5). I haven't read back too many pages, but I would love to join in on the FE, wristbands, lanyards, whatever is up and running. Because we are about to relocate from Alabama to...gulp...Utah, we want this cruise to be extra special for the kids. DH was just offered his new position in the last few weeks and we plan on moving before the school year starts in mid-August. I'm sure this is going to be stressful for them, so keeping the cruise alive and well will give them something to look forward to

BTW, if anyone wants or has time to quickly go over any planned details on dis meets, etc. that would be great! I'd love to get to know you all better by going back and reading the previous posts, but with everything going on with the move, I'll probably only be able to keep up from this point moving forward

Oh, and I know my ticker is wrong...got to get that fixed (obviously from a previous, rescheduled cruise). Is there a name/logo for this cruise yet??

Looking forward to hearing from ya'll

Welcome aboard!!!!! Moving to Utah will be a big difference for the kiddos so I can definitely see wanting to make it special, thankfully, that's what Disney does really well! I've added you guys into the FE list and the roll call, if you want to add names, just post them and I'll put them in!

Just as a summary, we've got 14 cabins, with 22 adults, 6 boys and 6 girls (I don't have people counts for TheBrowns yet, if you guys will post that I'll add it to the roll call as soon as I can), one more week before it's closed out, so it looks like we'll have a nice exchange group!

Doh!!!!! MouseMadness, I totally forgot! Ivet came up with the meet name, which is Taking the West by Magic! (Exclamation point is part of the name, I'm enthusiastic, but not insane, I swear )She also contacted Jordak who's one of the DISigners and he created some awesome pictures for us. We'd talked about doing wristbands, because so many people have their own lanyards, that we can wear, I found a site that doesn't have a minimum order, and less than 50 is $2.35/band. They even have the Walt Font so it's in the Disney script! They only need a 7 day lead time plus shipping to get to us, so we don't really need to figure out who wants bands until like the end of August. I guess we need another list!
