Gosh all this technical talk and I have no idea what any of it means. I just hit the button to turn the computer on and if it doesn't work I'm in trouble.

Ave--- Glad your enjoying Stephanie and all her adventures. Those books are such fun to read. I nearly have the Honeymoon completed. Now there is a wicked woman. Patterson has a new book coming out this fall. That man must write constantly. Take care of yourself.

It's been posted that the next DVC member cruise is going to be 10/22/06 on the Wonder. Norm and I are considering going on this after we get off the Magic on 10/21 stay at PC and just hop on the Wonder the next day. So we will be having our own 11 day cruise with Disney, but on 2 different ships. The big thing will be being able to get through on to Member Services the day they open up the cruise. Those cruises sell out in hours.

Mike,
that is why I wrote 'my first real PC': My first computer was a Commodore 128, which was a beefed up C64 with an integrated floppy-drive for 170K-disks :rotfl2: It also had a Datasette, a cassette-player for loading software.
But I had lots of cool games for it!!! Some I even would like to play from time to time again.

Nancy,
that's an 11day-cruise I can fully approve ;)

My first computer was ummm ummm -- haven't a clue. It was a box with an moniter that had orange lettering -- no colour moniters then. It had floppy disks and that's the extent of my knowledge. Still couldn't tell you even what operating system I have on the one at work.

Off camping this weekend after we finish peeling and cutting up. Tired already.

Fiona

Somehow my post got lost.

Trying to save us from falling to page 2.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Nancy

Well my first computer was a Sinclair ZX81 and it also needed a cassette player - looked like a square frisbee but it worked!
Have a great weekend everyone
Wendy

Well, to explain why I am so lacking in computer knowledge -- the computer I am using now "is" my first computer and I don't have the slightest idea what it has or what it does. Did have my DD's boyfriend at the time who was in computer security at BOA check it out to make sure it had whatever it should have had when I bought it 1-1/2 years ago. Used the computer at work for personal and business use for many years, but that was very specialized knowledge except for email and net surfing.

Nancy -- we seem to have lots of things in common -- computer technology or lack thereof, novels that we read, DVC and a couple of other things that have come up lately. The DVC cruise on 10/22 sounds interesting altho I don't think I could bear to pack everything up and then unpack it again. Is the members' cruise the standard 4-day itinerary?

The did change the itinerary--- Went to Key West instead of Nassau, then sea day and CC. I wish I could have gone this year, but you need to be on the phone first thing and they said by 2pm it was sold out. So hope it works out for 2006. I figure it would be no worse than unpacking at WDW which is where we usually go post cruise. You forgot the other thing we have in common we are both nurses. You are just lucky enough to be retired.

Ooooh. Oooh. Another DVC cruise. 2006. Somehow I missed that. Anyone have an idea when it will be formally announced? Did they give the point amounts prior to when you could call and book it? I would want to have time to think it over--which cabins, etc. We can't wait for 10-14-06!!! It's my birthday too.

Sam & I "were" planning to leave for Disney's HHI resort tomorrow and meeting my best friend & her DH there, but Hurricane Ophelia has changed our plans. Didn't mind the predicted rain too much since we would be with such good friends, but when we heard that Ophelia may come ashore near HH, we decided that it might be wise to stay away. Just called the resort and found out that I will not lose my points (140 for a 2BR) even tho we are canceling at the last minute. Points will be returned to us. I'll be calling member services first thing Monday morning to see if we can get in the next week. Sounds like that won't be a problem since this is off-season. We had to cancel our reservation at DVC's VB resort after the cruise last year due to hurricane damage there. Now we just have to hope that Ophelia doesn't come all the way to Charlotte the way that Hugo did the year we moved here.

Here is a link to some Hong Kong Disney park pictures. Notice the windows in the train Hong Kong

HKD looks AWESOME! Maybe some day we'll make it there! Heck, I am hoping we get to WDW over Thanksgiving, but the $$ situation isn't looking too good. :sad2:

Hey Michele,
before you think about going to Hongkong, you'd better come to Disneyland Paris!!!! A European DIS-meet for Cruisetoberfesters is more than due!!!

Thank you for posting the pics, Mike. As Australia is on our list of vacation spots for the future it may be a possibility to go to HKD as many airlines offer very attractive HK-Stopovers.

Check out your mailboxes: List #20 is in it :wave2:

I would LOVE to do Disney Paris as well! I have a friend who lived in Dormagan for 2 years and they went to Paris I think, 4 times! They travelled all over as the rates are so good! Although she said that Disney Paris is smaller, it is worth the trip! Maybe I could make that my goal....go to all the Disney's world wide! And of course, any time I would get to cross the great pond, I would be sure to look you up!

Nancy -- You are correct. We are both nurses. Also, I "think" that we both have many pictures held captive in our digital cameras. I might be remembering that incorrectly, but I had to laugh when I saw that someone else was preserving their digital pictures in the camera, and I think it was you. If not, please accept my apology.

Actually, I downloaded the pictures from my first memory card onto a disc (can't imagine how I ever managed to do that!), but now the disc is sitting somewhere. When we took our Wonder cruise in June, I took both the digital camera and a Canon Sureshot 32 mm. that I won in a raffle shortly before the cruise. The Canon pictures were developed immediately -- the digitals are still sitting in the camera.

To everyone in the Carolinas:
We keep our fingers crossed for you in regard to Ophelia :wave2:

Re: Hurricane Ophelia
Thanks Eric

All of family on the Charleston coast is just watching and waiting today. This morning it is beginning to sound as if it will go into NC instead. I wouldn't be surprised if I have houseguests anyway by tomorrow.

I have a friend in the Outer banks who I am concerned about as well. She has a baby less than a week old. I hope she doesn't have to evacuate but I don't want her to stay either. Jake was born in Charleston Oct. 29. We evacuated about 3-4 times that year-up until I was about 38 weeks pregnant and the next year when he was an infant for Floyd. (awful evacuation!) I'm glad we are far enough away not to have to evacuate now.

Take care, Jennifer

Speaking of hurricanes:

Is there any covered or elevated parking at the port these days? I know Dh will be very concerned about leaving his baby, I mean new car there.
