Nancy: There was a piece yesterday on our National Sports News about Palmiero being sent home to recover from injuries. CBC report The article says he'll be back later in the month, but with the way that the O's dropped Ponson, I have to think Palmiero is done for the year.

Only a three day work week for me as I'm taking Friday off to go camping -- the one weekend a year that we do although depending on the weather we will be driving home Friday and Saturday night to sleep.

Why don't you simply set up the tent in your living room? :rotfl2:

Talking about the weather: We had temps in the 27-33°C (81-91°F) range for the last 10 days - The best time to have an heater installed :teeth:
We picked up the car earlier this evening, but when we arrived home Anja discovered a dent in her doorsill. So I called the shop and complained, they asked me to come back -another 20minutes thru rush-hour- and show them the damage. After a short discussion (I did most of the talking :teeth: ) they took over the responsibility, agreed to get the part, and send a mechanic to my office as soon as the have it. He will then replace it there. I hate stuff like that!!!

Love the idea of the tent in the living room Eric. Actually it's starting to get quite cool here at night so Jim doesn't want to sleep outside and frankly he gets cranky when he's cold. It would be $100/night to stay in a hotel and it's only a 59 minute drive home so we'll drive home, sleep and then get up early since we are cooking and will have to be back there around 6:30am for that.

Fiona after spending a total of 14 years in the Army and National Guard, my idea of camping is staying in a motel with no remote control for the tv. :rotfl2:

Just saw on the local news that Steve McNair the quarterback for the Tennessee Titans held a donation drive for food. clothing and such. He wanted to fill 6 tractor trailers with donations. He started at 7am, by 11 they were filled. At 6pm Nashville had filled 26 trailers and still going strong.

Someone help me...A while back, there was talk on other threads, and maybe this one, about people leaving phone card and gift cards as additional tips. (We left phone cards on CFIII) Can anyone point me to these threads or clarify for me. If I remember correctly, some CM's would rather have Wal-mart or other brands of gift cards instead of phone cards. Is that true?? :confused3 Thanks,
Allen

What I always wonder is: Where do they actually GET their time off? And what is there? Is their time off always in Port Canaveral and what istores are in P.C? A walmart? target? Nothing? I just wonder about them getting their time off in St Thomas and not being able to use the Walmart card. Anyone know?

Their day off may even be a sea day. So why give them anything but cash :confused3 , some nice words, and not to forget: A good evaluation on the feedback form!!!

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to drop in to say hi since we're back from our Panama Canal Cruise now. We had a great time. 14 days is definitely not a long time on the ship. The Canal was so cool and interesting. I have to go to Costco tonight to have my pics printed since it would take me forever to print out over 500 pics! :earseek:

Hope everyone is doing well and has survived Hurricane Katrina. Has anyone heard how Avé and Mary are doing?

Reneé

Hi Renee,
good to see ya :wave2: The Twins weren't affected that much by Katrina directly, but their hometown is now taking care of many refugees.

Whay do you print all those pics :confused3 I save all my pics to CDs or DVDs and when I want to show them I fire up my notebook or PC or I make a presentation on my TV. We also shoot about 300-500 pics per week when on vacation and all the albums required for that many prints would comsume too much space. We only print pictures we want to frame or give away as gifts.

Jim--- Thanks for sharing the article on Palmeiro. I think we have seen the last of him playing baseball. From the article "Palmeiro never wanted a farewell tour or a lavish ceremony before his final game." I would say he got his wish.

Renee-- What a cute picture. Was that a special event that so many characters were at? Glad you enjoyed your cruise.

Allen--- There is a Wal Mart near the port. I can't remember what other stores were near it but there is alot of stores near the Wal Mart. I think the crew buses takes them to that area.

Nancy

Renee--- Mary and Ave are fine from the storm. However, Ave had appendicitis and had emergency surgery but she is doing fine now.

Nancy

Eric,

I usually bring my memory cards to Costco to print out most of the pics so I can put them in an album to show to people. I am also putting together several scrapbooks for Haley of her (many) cruises and trips so she'll have them when she's older. I also put the pics on CD or DVD, but just in case something happens to them, I also want the hard copies. Guess I'm a little paranoid about that.

Glad to hear the twins are doing good. Sorry to hear about Avé having her appendix out. That's one thing that I haven't had out yet and hope I won't have to.

This pic of Haley with the characters is from a pre-party that was held for 10 families before the characters came out to say goodbye the last night of the cruise. It was held in Studio Sea and was awesome. I don't think I have ever seen Haley with her mouth open and nothing coming out of it, lol. It was definitely a night to remember. She also got a "Friends Forever" Certificate from Belle since they hit it off. It was funny, every time Belle was out for pictures, Haley got in line to see her. She got a pic with Aurora and Belle that came out so cute that both Princesses requested a copy of it for themselves! The last night Belle even thanked me for bringing Haley to say goodbye to her. I couldn't believe it.

What determined what 10 families were picked? Boy were you guys lucky...

I have no idea how we were picked, but the Shutters Photographers loved Haley and that is who the invitation came from. They also gave us 3 8x10 pics that they took of her with the characters. I know another family that was picked but they told me they had lots of problems on the cruise so maybe that was a way to smooth things over with them. Yes, I know we were so lucky to have been part of that. That is something that I will always remember.

Reneé...great picture of Haley....I can't believe how big she is getting!! Glad you had a great cruise....I wish that I could have sailed with you!! Mary Jo

Hello Gary Flower! Are you going to be joining us on the cruise too?

Renee, SO good to hear from you again! I am happy to see you had a great cruise! Can't wait to see more photos of Haley! She is growing too fast!

Have a great day everyone!

Renee,
sorry about not complimenting you for the pic earlier, but I didn't realize that when I scanned the thread at work. This is so cute!!!
Paranoia in respect to my digipics I know: I have all my CDs and DVDs labeled with a best before date and after three years I copy them onto new disks - just to be sure.

Glad everyone likes the pic. I have it as the wallpaper on both my home and work PCs.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets paranoid about their pics getting destroyed.

You guys will have to tell me when the next Cruisetoberfest is so I can plan for it and we can cruise together again.
