I woke up with a cold and sore throat this morning. So don't think I will be going to the gym, since I can hardly breath. It is the first cold I had all winter. So I am waiting for the cold medicine to kick in.

Have a good day everyone.

Nancy

Get well soon, Nancy.
I know how you feel: I'm in the final phase of a cold and haven't been to the gym since Tuesday. I'm already experiencing withdrawal symptoms :p But tomorrow I'll start again with an hour on the elliptical treadmill and some abs and lower back

Add me to the list of "sickies". I woke up this morning all sneezey and have the red watery eye syndrome. Right now it feels more a bad allergy than a cold, but considering the time of year it's probably a prodrome of something worse to come. John and I were going to go someplace nice to celebrate Valentine's Day today and avoid the crowds tomorrow, but now I don't feel up to doing that. They just opened up a new 14-plex 2 minutes from our home so maybe we'll just go see Aviator and bring back a pizza. Since we normally consider that "forbidden" food, it'll be a real celebration for us. And we have some nice Michelob Ultra in the fridge which I know is one of Eric's favorite brews!
Speaking of beer........ a Brit walks into a pub and orders a brew. When he gets it, there's a fly in it so he goes "Blimey, there's a fly in me' beer" and he scoops it out and tosses the fly away.
Next an American comes in and he too orders a beer. He also gets one with a fly in it. He becomes irate and demands to be served a brand new one.
Finally an Irish guy comes in and he too gets a fly in his beer. Carefully, he scoops out the little bugger, places him carefully on the rim and says "OK, spit it back, little friend, spit it all back!"

Gute Besserung auch für Dich, Jeanne (Get well soon, too)
Although I'm always teasing you Americans about your brew, I have to admit that I like that stuff. I shocked Jeff (Tigfanjeff of Cruisetoberfest II) when we met at an Irish Pub in Ellenton by ordering a Miller Lite. And I had some really good beer in a microbrewery in Denver. BTW, the total amount of beer I drink in Germany per year does not exceed a gallon. It does not coincide with our training regimen. And usually I drink Radler (Biker's beer), which is a mix of 50% beer and 50% white or yellow lemonade (Like Fanta or Sprite).
Here comes another pub joke:

Patron: 'Hey bartender, there's a hearing aid swimming in my beer!!'
Bartender': 'Huh?'

Took it that long for Kim, Bette? :rotfl2:

Hey Eric you Brat !!!

I'll have you know that I am the best out of the 6 she had...:tongue::tongue:

Remember Eric... baby brother is an agent for Customs.... ( I don't get mad, I get even)

Off to finish paperwork...

Bye, Kim

Hi Everyone and Happy B-day Renee. Rich celebrated his B-day this week also, the 9th. And as a present we got him a brand new puppy! DS had wanted to get DH a puppy for Christmas but I vetoed it. It took two months but I finally gave in. I think I went temporarily insane when I did, but he is certainly a cutie! And smart too! :D

Dave and Ellen - Hope no one you know was in that mall today. Breaking news came on an hour or so ago about the shooting by a lone gunman. Seems some brave mall store (not security) employees stopped him and I think I heard there were a number of injuries. This is scary stuff.

Bette - Best wishes for your surgery later this week. And Kim, it was Tulirich, not Tulirose, to thank for those pickles. If it was up to me, you would have gotten bagels from a local store here on the island which I am certain are not what you had in mind. Rich went out of his way to get those pickles. Glad to hear you are enjoying them.

Eric and Anja going to Boston in October! I didn't jot down the exact dates and will never find them again. Please repeat them for this ol' forgetful lady. We would love to meet up with you in Boston, or NYC, or even if you could come out to visit us here on LI. And what exactly is NikeTown?

Peter - Is that the Chinatown bus that goes to NYC from Boston for $15. Niece is going to Emerson and my sister paid a small fortune last year for her to go to NYC via Amtrack. I tried to get them to do the Hampton Jitney and go 'cross the sound where we could pick her up in Port Jefferson but my sister had already bought the train tickets. We also said if she did the Chinatown bus, she could meet Rich in NYC but niece is afraid to go on those buses.

Arlene, Fiona and Jim, Mike, Ave, Nancy, Jeanneg, Cathy, Mary, Tracy and everyone else, enjoyed reading all your postings and wish I could comment on everything but time amd memory is not adequate.

Hope to write up something for newsletter shortly.

Oh, I believe I need to welcome a newcomer too... WELCOME!!

Goodness! I am glad to see we are not the only ones suffering the cold and flu season! Colton was to the Dr on the 2nd, diagnosis...pnuemonia. He was doing well, and we were going to start and cut back on his breathing treatments, when lo and behold, he decided to rebound. :sad2: So, back to the Dr we go in the morning. I hope we can do better this time. I just don't know what I have been doing wrong! He has been to the Dr every month since school has started! I feel bad for him. I hope that everyone else who is sick has a speedy and less eventful recovery! Sending pixie dust :wizard: and prayers /\ your way!
Also, Colton celebrated his 10th birthday today! Despite being sick, we went gocart racing and dinner at TGIFridays. He was trooper as he REALLY wanted to go, but as soon as dinner was over, he was ready to come home! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all who have celebrated in the last few days! :bday: :cake: :mickeybar :love1: :grouphug:

Rosemary,
we'll be flying in on 09/30 and will return on 10/15. Niketown is the world's largest Nike Store, extending over five or more floors. There's a rockclimbing wall, surf simulators, etc in it. But it's not a must!!! Empire State, Central Park or the Statue of Liberty are more important ;) I sent Pete & Jenn a list with some things we'd like to do. They came up with the NYC-weekend, and we love the idea. It's so great to have local guides

Happy Birthday Rene and Rich ... :bday: :cake:

Regarding the clicker thingy ... believe it or not I learned a lesson from Art's parents a long time ago ... you both have a clicker so when one person falls asleep the other doesn't have to get up, just click away!

Happy V-DAY Everyone.

OOps,
I missed that: Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Rich & Colton :cheer2: :bounce: :bday: :thewave:
I won some great Mickey Mouse-cufflinks on ebay today - For €1.99 plus €2.00 p&p :rotfl: Some people obviously still don't know that you don't let an auction end on Monday morning ;)

Anyone else anxious for Survivor to start Thursday? That is one of my fav shows ... this time there are 2 contestants from PA in it. Hope whoever wins the $ remembers to tell IRS and not pull a Richard Hatch! DUH, you gt a million $ on a nationally televised show and you don't think IRS will find out :rotfl:
