We got about 1-2inches of snow today, but it's already melting.
Our Secretary of State asked everyone today in a TV-adress to refrain from buying fireworks and donate the money saved for the victims of the tsunami in Asia - I hope this works.

Still no snow here in FL. :sunny: Sorry Peter, can't help you with airline tickets, but you could stay with us. But you'll have to make it next week since sister is coming this week. :cool1:
DD got her braces off today!
grinning-smiley-018.gif
Now one more trip to the orthodontist for her retainer, and one trip to the regular dentist to have her teeth cleaned. Then I can start working on DS.

Still watching the updates from Indonesia. What a nightmare! At least people in FL had some warning before the hurricanes came ashore.

Dan, So glad to hear that you've booked! Enjoy your upcoming trip. :boat:
Wish I was going.

Got to run.
Bye Everyone!

Hi Guys,

Kim here..

Thanks for all the B-day wishes and phone call ( papa !!) To much going on now but will check in later.

Bye, Kim

Happy Birthday KIM!! :cheer2: :cool1:

Looking forward to our trip to Florida tomorrow!

Dan and Scott....GREAT to have you with us again! :grouphug:

We just met with a realator and she told us some good news. Average "Number of days on the market" for our area is 6 DAYS!We have some small things to do, and 1 big thing to do (redo the guest bath) but all are items George can do himself. Once these are done, the house will go on the market. We are aiming at mid Jan.

Eric, I hope people will follow your Secretary of State advice. I read today the US has a 15 million aid package ready to go. CNN is assisiting with channeling private donations to affected countries. What a nightmare for everyone!

Healing pixie dust to Andy. :wizard:

Folks,
there'll probably another edition of The List this year: I just got mail from Steve & Michele, who asked to be added to The List. I just asked them to send the usual info and as soon as it arrive I will do another update.

Dan, my friend,
you'd better hurry up with your info to be included in that revision :earboy2:

That is Great... When did u end up telling them ??

Peter

It was really funny. We were driving over and could see the ship. Steve says, "Maybe we could go over and see the ship?" I say, "Sure, we can try. That would be neat." They are looking at the ship and commenting about it, but still no clue. Then I nudge Steve and whisper that it is killing me, you have to tell them! So he says, "Guys. We are going to go on the ship." Well, they say, "yeah, we can go over to it." I finally turn around and said, "Guys, we are going to take a Disney Cruise for Christmas!" Then their mouths dropped open and they started to get VERY excited! I think Connor said 10 times..."This is the BEST Christmas present ever!" It was SO worth waiting to tell them what we were doing! I still haven't even watched the video we took! I'll have to do that tonight! They know about the next cruise as we told them after we booked it and then walked down to show them which rooms we booked. I don't know if I can wait 2 years for another cruise though! Might have to come up with something to hold me over!

Michele,
I got your mail :cool1: Now you're family are official members of the gang.

To everyone:
I'll do an update tonight - Our time - so please send all requests for changes until 2pm EST today.
Sorry about the short notice, bua a) is Michele eagerly waiting for her first edition of The List and b) I won't have time tomorrow between working out, shopping and celebrating.

I have been babysitting my DGS the past 2 weeks and finally got around to seeing "The Incredibles" yesterday. It was kind of cute, but probably my least favorite Disney film so far. Gavin who is 5 was not too impressed either. I don't think he really understand what it was all about. I wasn't too anxious to see Incredibles to start with and I know that is one Disney DVD that I will not buy.

Eric -- When you first told us you were going to P-h-u-k-e-t on vacation, I had never heard of this island. It seem so ironic that we are hearing so much about it now with the terrible disaster that occurred. I see that Germany has given the second largest amount of relief money to the areas that have been destroyed (after Japan). Good for you! All our money seems to be going to Iraq whether we like it or not.

Welcome, Cunninghams! This is an absolutely great group to cruise with -- we did our first Octoberfest this past October and had the time of our lives. Can't wait for 2006.

Jean,
according to my knowledge USAid also sent 15 MegaBucks, but nevertheless one could probably rebuild the whole affected regions with the money spent in Iraq. A positive side-effect of the disaster may be that the world's largest islamic country -Indonesia- now gets major help from us Western nations, showing the islamic world that we Westerners are definitely not the bad guys.
I hope this didn't get too political

Folks,
CruzList #6 is in your mailboxes - Check it out.
Steve & Michele,
you received two mails: The List & Cruisetoberfest's History.

TO EVERYONE
Please ask your offspring to send their info to my dear colleague, Ciara, Listmistress of the Kid's List. Her adress can be found at the bottom of The List.

Eric -- I am aware that we sent 35 million in aid, but I am hoping that we can do more to help those poor people affected by the Tsumnami. Sent you a PM.

No 'Bounced Back'-Mails this time - So everybody should have received The List.
We're going to retire now. We did the Cardio Handicap today, which is an assesment of one's fitness level. Worst is 15, best is 1. You have to do three different things for 10 minutes each: Running, Rowing, Cycling, Stairmaster. Our instructor told us that only wimps take the Stairmaster, the tough ones do Running, Rowing, Cycling. Guess what we chose pirate: So we did a 10-minute warm-up and then we started on the treadmill with our run. After 10 minutes I had run 2.2 kilometers (~1.4 miles) and Anja 1.9km (~1.2 miles) which made us both a 3. My instructor was kind of shocked because my pulse went into the 170-range - 179 is usually the maximum for an old fart like me. When I told him that I have a maximum heart rate of 207 he stood there gaping with an open mouth.
So we went to the rowing machine. Unfortunately we hadn't done any rowing for about four years, but as I wanted to keep that 3 I started fast and had my pulse at 192 after 3 minutes and held it in the range of 195 for the remaining 7 minutes, which scored me 2.6km/1.6miles (another 3) -and nearly caused our instructor to faint- and Anja also managed to score a very good 4. Two minutes later we started on the bikes for our final leg of 10 minutes. I had to do 6.8 km/4.25miles, and Anja's target was 5.6 km/3.5miles to score another 3. I did a bit more than 8km/5miles and Anja managed nearly 7km/4.4miles. This scored a 1 for each of us. Unfortunately your classification is the value of your weakest point and so I ended up as a 3 and Anja as a 4. We then went to the Wall of Fame of our gym and were very proud to discover that there are only five ladies better than Anja, and only three guys better than me - With about 400 men and 350 ladies on the wall, and none of these people chose the rowing machine :earboy2: And all were about 10 to 15 years younger. Unfortunately that system doesn't give you a bonus for age.
After that we got a free drink at the bar (Gatorade only!!) and then we did another 30 minutes on the Stairmaster to get some oxygen back into our system - And now we're dead tired. So tired that we decided to skip training tomorrow  And we also decided not to repeat that test before March or April.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cool1: :rockband: :rockband: :rockband:

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE

:rockband: :wizard: :cheer2: :jumping4:

May the New Year bring good health and happiness to all.

Ok Eric, after reading about your work out I need a nap. I have been to the gym every day to work off all the excess food that I have eaten over the holiday. So by doing that I have keep down any big weight gain.

WDWCrazzyCunninghams--- Cute story about keeping the cruise a surprise.

I'm at work today, will take my holiday next Friday. That way I can have the day to myself to de Christmas the house or just do nothing since I will be celebrating my birthday that day.

Nancy

Eric and Anja: I felt like I went through a workout of my own just reading about your recent endeavor! I've been good throughout the holidays with my own exercise routine but very very naughty about eating. I am going back on the South Beach diet as of Monday which means a miserable 2 weeks of induction all over again.

Happy belated birthday, Kim!

JeannieC: I agree with you about the Incredibles.....it was probably my least favorite Disney movie in a long time. Over the weekend we saw Lemony Snicket and Phantom of the Opera......they were both great! Hoping to see "Fockers" tomorrow.......love those bargain matinees!

Welcome WDWC.C.: It's great how you surprised the kids!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Just think...... tomorrow we can say that we'll be cruising together again NEXT year!

I have to admit that I feel a bit sore today, but we'll work out tomorrow morning before having a late breakfast. Our gym is going to open at 10am and I guess we'll be there right then, do our usual 35-minute Cardio and then our upper body weight training, which requires another 80 to 90 minutes.
Tonight we'll be at our favourite restaurant, a SriLankean/Malaysian place, which serves a great buffet on New Year's Eve - and very yummy cocktails.
But from Monday on I'll be on diet, too: Just fruit till noon, whole grain products after that, no red meat, mainly chicken and turkey, lots of salads and two times per week dinner will be skipped or replaced by a protein shake. I plan to lose between 10 and 15 pounds, but don't intend to lose any muscle tissue. Our workout routine will contain more running and less iron pumping for some weeks.

Coming back to the Boards after Midnight (Our time)

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE

We got an early new years present. 18" of snow over the past 24hr. My parents live up at Tahoe and Dad said they got about 3.5 to 4 feet. Sounds like great skiing, they live about a mile up the road from one of the ski areas.

I have to work tonight. I'll drop Debbie and the girls off at her moms around noon and head to work, the people on the day shift said the normal 45 min commute took about 2 hours this morning. I think we get a nice meal catered tonight so it shouldn't be too bad. Ever since 9/11 we have worked over new years. It's just part of the job. We didn't do much on new years before so we don't miss much.

Take Care and Be Safe Tonight,

Van
