My thought is that she overlooked the clue - i mean think about it she unrolled over 100 bales of hay. How frustrating though when other teams come and go and some of them seemed to get the clue on the first bale they unrolled.

:goodvibes Kylie, Congrats on #900.
Wonder who will get #1000!!!!!

Sorry, don't watch the "Race" show but was disappointed to see Ken Jennings lose in Jepordy! Was it just me, or did he appear to not be trying too hard? Maybe he was just ready for it to be over? 2.5 million is a nice little chuck of change.

Got the PlayStation 2 I ordered off e-Bay. Everything was as promised. DS is going to flip out on Christmas morning. :jumping2:

That was my thought exactly (that she somehow must have missed seeing the clue). Statistically, it doesn't seem possible she could roll out so many and still not find one considering there were 12 still out there. I wonder how many bales remained unturned at the end. Jonathan is the WORST....I just wanna smack that guy!!!!! He does make for some interesting TV so I hope he stays around a little longer so we can all see him totally decompensate. And what about that guy they call "Hellboy"?......he's a real wacko. It was so funny seeing him crying for his momma after all those tantrums he threw. I would say he acts about.....2? It's funny how the 2 NY teams were the first to go! What was the deal with that other girl from Queens.....did she not know how to drive at all because she certainly wasn't offering any assistence to her partner? It seems to me that if you sign up for a show like that there are a few basic skills (like driving and swimming) you really need to have. Right now I like the girl and her father, but I don't see them lasting too much longer.
Survivor is pretty bad this season. I lost all interest when Chad got voted off. In my opinion he was an amazing human being. It's so ironic that Chris is the only guy left considering he was almost voted out the very first show. I think the men really screwed themselves when they got rid of all their strong players so early on.
I wish they would bring back The Mole....the real one, not the celebrity version. I loved that show because the challenges were alot more mental than physical. And I got duped both times so it was even more enjoyable.

Does anyone watch "The Billonaire" with Branson. Its a good cross between Survivor, Amazing Race and the Apprentice. Plus Branson seems to be such a down to earth guy.Definetely great to have these type of reality shows rather than the ones like 'wife swap' or the 'swan'.

On amazing race I also do not like the wrestler couple. I would think they would have more durability than they do.

Andy and I were laughing at the girl driving. Dont any of these people watch previous seasons shows and get an idea of what they are in for. You should have at least the basic knowledge of how to drive a stick shift or how to read a map.

Urgg! I'm so depressed today. I just lost my job. It was not a fun job, but I worked from home and they paid me pretty good. Oh well, nothing I can do but go on. However, I'm still planning on going on this cruise, but I'm waiting until we take our DVC member cruise next Sept, so that I can book onboard.

I guess that I'm just feeling sorry for myself, because my whole team knew that this was going to happen. It's just that the reality hits hard!!!

Thats what I thought. Everyone else was finding the clues rather quickly and geting out of there. I think that they might have let her stay there, because they wanted to see if she would find it. She wouldn't give up. I think that Ken Jennings wasn't trying as hard as it could have. 2.5 million is a lot of money, and that is probably more than he thought he has ever thought he would get. When Arielfn93, my sister, posted earlier in the morning that was me. My sister forgot to log out and I was in a hurry to get to school.

First posting on the Cruisetoberfest thread with the new format. I found out on other DIS forums that I cannot preview my post and then post directly after making corrections, so this post may contain errors.

I have been poking around a bit here at the DIS for the last few days, trying to get adjusted. I found out I can change the annoying "Holiday Color" of the forums and made mine "Serenity Green". They also have DVC colors and DCL colors and others.

Something is not quite right with this thread because the last post shown prior to my writing this particular post is Hygeine99's link to Clay Aikin's site. I was looking at the boards earlier tonight and I KNOW there were most postings after that... and they are NOT showing up in the reply to thread page as they did last week. Wonder what will happen when I post this reply.

Quick thoughts about what I have recently read on this thread: .....sending good wishes to Alikat to find an even better job..... shock at papa's posting a few days back about the turkey frying that caused a house to burn down :scared: ..... happy to hear Doug and family considering cruising in 2006...... Survivor tonight and last week finally getting interesting but really too little too late for me...... don't watch other shows spoken about....... Nancy - my niece will be SO jealous of you getting to see Clay sing, her mom and dad (my sister and BIL) were here in NY and stayed with us arriving day after TG and leaving yesterday, to take care of situation with BIL's mom. Niece called up on Tuesday or Wednesday, whatever night they did this, and yelled at her mom that she should be in Rockfeller Plaza because Clay is singing there after the tree lighting ceremony. As if her mom had the time to go into NYC......glad Mary had good visit with relatives in D.C......heard on news this a.m. Nascar racers were going to have some sort of promotional race in Manhattan with "The Donald" starting them off.....looking forward to Cookie "Night" coming up very shortly --- are we suppose to bring cookies???......happy to hear Eric's exciting vacation plans to Thailand (I also know why you were censored)..... Thanksgiving was lovely, first year I didn't have to cook in like forever....... Heading into Goofynut's and Sarahsmom neck of the words this weekend to visit another niece -- one day we will have to coordinate our trip out there with a gettogether perhaps.....sorry to hear some couple pulled out of Cruisetoberfest... wish I could keep everyone straight in my head of the recent cruisers, you sound like a great group of people..... good luck to Cathy and Art's rennovating plans.....thinking this post is going on much too long and perhaps it is time to end it now........

Ave,
thanks for the explanation of the reason for the Thai Isand of P-H-U-K-E-T being censored. That reason come up in my mind too, but I discarded it as highly improbable. I once again underestimated American prudishness pirate: Some people obviously love to be too PC

Arlene--- I watched 2 episodes of the Rebel Billionaire and couldn't get into it. The task were ok, but the challenges reminded me of Fear Factor which I don't like. I read somewhere that the show's ratings are really bad and Fox had considered pulling it off before the conclusion, but I think they are going to keep it on for now.

Peter--- You are like my husband, you just go where you are told. You are close to several of his concerts the Providence, Lowell, NYC. If you are going tonight, tell him to be sure to look for me on Sat. The Marines are collecting Toys for Tots at all his concerts, so I went shopping last night for something to take. Clay is a spokesperson for TOT and apparently have been having a great show of support at all the concerts with toy contributations. We are not staying at any of the DVC resorts this time since my points are gone for 2004. Got AP rate at CBR. It was the only moderate I could get.

Amy--- Sorry to hear about you job. What a bummer right before the holiday.

Jeanne--- Any luck with the house selling, since JC is upside down in the yard?

Hi Rose  Clay will be on the Today show 12/8 and I bet he will be singing outside since he will be there to promote his Christmas show that is airing that night. So if she had just stayed even longer she could have seen him twice. We also got a new living room set just recently. As I sent each child off I am giving them the old furniture and replacing it with new. So so far have the living room, next the dining room set is going. I think I remember you just got a new one last year.

That all for now need to do some work so maybe I can get off early.

Nancy ::MinnieMo

Sorry to hear about your job Amy. Hopefully you will find an even better one soon.

Can't stand Jonathan and Victoria on Amazing Race -- he is just unbelievable. Also couldn't believe that they let that girl (can't remember her name) unroll that many bales of hay before eliminating them. They were nice though as they didn't yell at each other. Hellboy is really just a Mama'sboy and she should dump him soon. I like the grandparents though but I don't think they'll make it to the end.

DS passed his driving test yesterday afternoon. What was really funny is that he took the car out last night and got a speeding ticket. Cost him $40. This after his driving test sheet said he was driving too slow!

Back to work. Xmas party tonight -- wish I could just go home and watch JAG though.

Fiona

Fiona and Jim: Now that your son has his license you will experience aging like never before.......I'll be interested in seeing the color of your hair in 2 years! Welcome to the club.....it's a never ending saga. This past weekend I let my 19-yr old borrow my Durango because it was raining and much safer than his 14-yr old wreck. Well, he then let someone else drive it to get pizza 2 blocks away and that person ended up getting into a major wreck! Long story short, I still have not seen my car but I'm hoping to get it back next week. Kids + driving is such a bad equation, but i'm sure you'll find this out soon enough. Jason is not going to be a happy camper during Christmas break because he's grounded until he pays back what it's costing us. The way I look at it, I've got a built-in house-cleaning service!

OMG Jeanneg - I trust the only injury was the vehicle. Teens and driving has been my nightmare since my son was born. Too bad they can't skip those years and go directy into the mid 20's!!

Sorry to hear about your job Amy. Hopefully, you'll be able to find a better one.

Well, I guess I can be added to the list of people that has to buy a new PC. Last night, my hard drive crashed :badpc: and this morning I got on the phone and called Gateway. My new PC will be here around 12/16. Luckily, I work from home so I have a work PC home that I can use a little. I will be going through withdrawal since Lenny says "I live on these boards." I'm just hoping I can boot the thing up enough so I can get all my files and and bookmarks off it. We'll see what happens tonight. Wish me luck.

Reneé

Amy, SO sorry about the job. :grouphug:

Reneé, good luck getting your data back. :badpc:

Rosemary, Great to hear from you. Ummmm...I think you are supposed to bring cookies with you to "cookie night". But I could be wrong.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
