jeanneg,
I was just reading over these posts and came to yours and started laughing so loud, I probably woke the kids. I ran to get my husband, Tim, the graphic arts stripper to show him your post. After turning 5 shades of red, he asked who was I "talking" with. I told him lots of people on the cruise we are going on. He turned another 3 shades darker. He prefers the technical job description of "lithographer" . Last cruise you should have seen him do Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name." All I'll say is, is that the boy band beat the girl band that night and the girl band was dressed in towels. He did put on quite a show. ::yes:: :earseek: ::yes::

:rotfl: Valerie,
I'll make that 'Lithographer' with the next revision - Although I assume that some of the Folks now take that as the Greek word for 'Exotic Dancer' :jester:
BTW, I knew what you meant by Graphic Arts Stripper: My dad used to be a Printer, my Gramps is a Master Printer, and I work in company printing up to 14 million sheets per week.

Eric - I emailed you a pic of us for the website.

I thought I posted this last night, but I guess I didn't or maybe it disappeared.....

Eric, et. al:
I just want to say that your lists and homepage of pics are great! I especially enjoyed the history of the Cruisetoberfest crowd. You guys all seem like such a fun bunch -- I'ts make the anticipation for this cruise even greater.

Eric mentioned a website for the cruise and I do not want to jump all over the veterans -- I'm still getting my feet wet on this thread. BUT, EB and I were originally scheduled for this month's Thanksgiving cruise but switched to the infamous 9/4/04 hurricane cruise that we didn't end up going on (long story, won't bore you all) --- but I continued to maintain the website for the Turkey Day cruisers and would be more than happy to do that for Cruisetoberfest! Please check out the site and let me know what you think. I would not have hurt feelings if this wasn't something you all wanted to do. I would totally understand, but let me know. Here is the site address: http://www.kings.edu/mfpriebe/cruise/

Thanks everyone! :sunny:

Curlyq: Phewy....lithographer is just not as enticing as graphic arts stripper. As least your husband didn't think you were conversing with a bunch of axe- murderers as a certain not-so-happy spouse of another unmentioned DISer believed!

Mary Jo: pm me your ressie # so I will be sure that all 4 families are together for dinner again.

Sorry I haven't been reading these posts in a while.

Two-foxes - I live in Cleveland and am a big Browns fan. Have had season tickets for over 30 years. Where did you live in Cleveland? East Side or West Side?

Winotracy - How's the new PC? Did you get all the software loaded yet? What kink did you get? I am thinking about a laptop so I can read this board while I'm watching TV.

Dale

jeanneg...as soon as I find my little card with the reservation number on it, I will pm it to you (I still haven't gotten anything from Disney but they did make sure that they charged the $750.00 deposit to my credit card immediately!!)

Also, I believe that I am the ax murderer that you spoke about and I am happy to say that the axes have been put away for the winter and now it would be a snow shovel (flurries maybe tonight)--just keep that in mind Marianne!!!

Happy to say that all is going well with DD English--she has been getting marks in the 90's which is keeping the Irish witch (and I am qualified to say this since I am also 100% Irish!!) happy...she had a unit test last week which counts for 20% of her grade and she got 108 (100 plus 8 bonus points)--since my talk with her and Sam's visit, she seems to have backed off on her picking on Sarah--now Sarah says that she has taken on other targets....maybe she has learned that you don't mess with a fellow Irishman (even though she is right from the Old Sod!!) who is not afraid to go to the assistant principal when it is warrented!!

Pétér...Sam said he is game for whatever you plan....should I be worried???

Sam had to take an entrance exam for a local college and the test was on Algebra which he hasn't had in 44 years...Sarah became his tutor and boy is she tough...she couldn't understand why he couldn't get the concept of doing everything in the parenthesis ) (sp?) first!!! It was a riot since she is so good at Algebra she thinks that everyone should just be able to do it!!

Melody...all I can say is WOW!!!!!What a great site! I'm sure you would not be stepping on any toes. I (for one) would LOVE a site like that!

Valerie....too funny about Tim. Do you think he would do the BonJovi show again? We could make sure the place was packed!!

Everytime I tired to get on the boards yesterday, nothing happened. I thought they must have been down for awhile.

Norm and I went at 6:30am to vote. We were #11 and #12. By the times the polls opened at 7am there were over 60 people in line. Once we voted, I went to the Car Wash which was giving away free car washes to everyone that voted. I waited longer there than I did at the polls. One of the donuts shops was giving out free coffee and donuts, but passed on that.

I will be so disappointed that there won't be any message on my maching tonight. NOT. Thanks heavens the election is over and it isn't going to drag on for days. I did enjoy last night watching the results coming in.

Since Norm is in the printing industry, I did know what a stripper was.

We toured SSR in May. The inside of the buildings are very nice. It is just so open at this point and was hot because of the lack of trees. I thought there might be alot of noise from DDD, but it was pretty quiet. I still prefer OKW. Maybe as SSR gets more built up it will have more appeal to us.

OH yeah! My favorite was probably from Arnold...that was a funny one! :p

CRSNDSNY - That site is great...I think it would be perfect and I think that Viking "aka Master of the Lists" would not have a problem giving that task up;)

Hope all is well w/everyone - sneaking a peek at the boards while I'm at work.....

Barbara

NO, Viking definitely doesn't have a problem giving that site up ;)

Thanks for taking over that task - I'll contact you concerning the details

We waited for 2 hours to vote and the line was even longer when we left. Luckily we didn't have to stand in the rain. We had a line snaking through the library.

Great list Eric. You forgot to put Ohio after North Ridgeville though.

Dale, I was thinking about you in Ohio last night :teeth: Glad that Ohio won't be an issue this year.

We got a Dell. Bill does a lot of purchasing for the University and says that Dells are the best. He's only had problems with a couple out of the hundreds he has purchased.

We finally got the HDTV working. Yes, we have HDTV on our computer but not on our TV. We figured we can either broadcast it to the HDTV ready TV or burn it to a DVD. Pretty neat! Now he'll start with the software. We have a home network so the transfer of files will be easy. I have a laptop that I use to play games, check the boards, etc. while I watch TV and eat. I gotta multi-task!

Melody the site looks great!

Sorry,
but I guess there will be grounds for at least one revision before we sail :jester:

Congratulations on bringing off the elections so smoothly. Nobody over here would have betted on it :p

But all those lines in front of the voting places are unheard of over here. I've been voting since 1981 and I never had to wait for more than 2 or 3 minutes - and that with up to 90% of the population voting. Usually I just show my ID, (which is BTW mandatory overhere), retrieve my voting slips, and head over to the voting booth. But in Germany every citizen has to be registered in the city, town, or county he or she lives in, which surely makes things a lot easier - Different countries, different systems, I guess ;)

PS: Did Arnold really speak on your AM, Melody?
PPS: We have a guy at our office taking bets, that you will have your constitution amended, and elect Arnold in '08 - No kidding!!!
To say it with Sly in 'Demolition Man': 'PLeas, put me back into the fridge!' :jester:

Wow, lots to catch up on!

CRSNDSNY-love the website!
Eric-Can you resend the last Cruisetoberfest list you sent to me? I can't find it. Thanks!
Barbara-My girls will be calling your girls again soon. They mention them almost every day:) Did you call the TA yet? Any luck?
I don't know who scrapbooks out there, but I'm giving it a try this weekend. DH (you know, the guy with the big camera :earseek: ) got our pics printed up and I bought a DCL scrapbook kit from someone on the disboards. A friend invited me over to do it. I'll let you know how it goes.
Take care everyone!
Laura :wave2:

I also was a stripper for 12 years....It was so much fun telling all my friends what I did for a living...than they finally realized it was for a typesetting company!!!!!!

Laura Barbara will email you...

Eric thanxs for the histor...very interesting info

Melody - I luv the Website you did for the other Cruise. So organized and easy to navigate.

I can't believe how this thread has grown since we got home. Work is kicking my rear end. We convert to "active directory" in two weeks and I just found out yesterday that the biggest application I support is being upgraded at the same time. The upgrade doesn't support Windows 2000 so all users have to be upgraded to XP. ARRRRRGGGGG!!! Luckilly about two-thirds are already on XP but about 50 machines are not.

I miss the Magic. It's been snowing on the valley floor for about four hours and doesn't look to be letting up soon. I love snow up at Tahoe and It looks like we'll have a great ski season. Here in the valley it only messes up the commute though.

My parents will be in Costa Maya next week so I asked my Mom to pick up everything about excursions she could put her hands on.

Dale, I grew up on the West side in Lakewood. I grew up in the same house my mom grew up in on Reveley Ave right off Madison Ave (if you know where Malley's is, that is right where we used to live!)

Needless to say, when I moved to Denver of all places, I took alot of heat for being from Cleveland and loving the Browns....I still despise Elway (he owns car dealerships here now, so there is still no escaping him:crazy2: ) and I vow to never be a Broncos fan! I still hope to get Tim (DH) out there during the summer...his only visit there was this past January for a wedding for a high school friend of mine....not so pleasant in January!
