Finally caught up with reading the thread. Had to catch up on work as well.

Happy Birthday to all the early October birthdays! I think it was Heidi, Amy, Eric and Anja -- if I missed someone I'm sorry.

Saw pictures of NH rain and it was unbelievable. Hope you are still dry Kim and Bette!

Also welcome to our new members.

Back to work now.

Fiona

Congrats Eric - that is great news!!!
Rain, rain go away - DONT come back another day.
Wendy

Congratulations on the promotion Eric. Good luck on the WDW trip Michele. Cathy and Art are back home in Pennsylvania. We loved having them down and spending time together. Bette and Kim, stay dry there in New Hampshire. Also Cathy has a picture of Bette's twin sister that was our tour guide on the Jack Daniel's distillery tour. Mike

Look out! We have made THE LIST!

Eric, You are ambitious, going to the gym and shopping. Going shopping would exhaust me. I hate to shop for groceries. Congrats on the promotion.

WDWCrazzyCunninghams, sorry that you will miss the event. We did not make it for the big event, but we made some smaller meet ups. It was fun.

Back from the work thing. I had training today. I love to learn new things. Today is a rest day and tomorrow I have an apt with the podiatrist. I think I have Achilles tendonitis, but I am hoping that is not so. I should not try to self-diagnose.

Hi Everyone!

Welcome home to Eric and Anja. Glad you had a good time. And congrats on your promotion. And Happy Birthday to Anja!

I've been trying to keep up, but I've been a little busy lately. New house is almost done! The cabinets, light fixtures, and counter tops went in last Friday and today. Tomorrow some of the flooring will be installed. Starting to look like "MY" house now. :cool1:

Got to run,
Avé

Ave,
that's great news on the house.
I'll soon start looking into PCB hotels again, but I guess we won't book one before April '06. This time we want to stay at one with a pool at the beach. The last one was OK, but unfortunately its pool was one street away from the beach.

It's great to hear that there are more runners in our group!!! We didn't do anything while we were in the States, but ran 5-6 miles yesterday. My legs are a bit sore now, but nevertheless we'll do an hour on the elliptical today.
Be careful with your achilles tendon!!! I sometimes have slight problems there too, but usually I can counter them by a thorough stretch and careful weight-training.
After two weeks without the gym we usually start slow, so tomorrow I'll also do nothing but running and 45 minutes of Badminton, but Thursday it will be 45 minutes on the elliptical and an hour of The Pump. Friday we'll do 6 miles again and then we'll take a day off on Saturday (Have to work that day :guilty: ). Sunday it will be running and Badminton again and next week we'll restart our real program.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for your pediatric problem to simply go away.

The latest on our upcoming trip....
we'll leave Friday after school on the 18th and drive to Orangeburg, SC. Finish our drive into Orlando on Saturday, check into the condo and get groceries. Pack an overnight bag. On Sunday morning, we are checking into The Royal Pacific for just one night. BUT this will give us 2 days of Front Of the Line Access. It was just killing Steve that we would have to stand in line for rides. Even though we have 4 days at USF, and we could probably get it all done. We are spoiled. Since we will probably get everything done in 2 or 3 days, I was thinking maybe we could head to a beach one day...if the weather is nice. We NEVER relax on vacation. I thought it might be a nice change! Then Thursday, Thanksgiving day, (or even Wednesday) we'll do Sea World. Since you get a free day with them too, it will be either Wed and Thurs or Thurs and part of Friday. Friday I still want to go to DTD and resort hop. I need to see if they have a Chef Mickey's time available too! Then Saturday, we check back out of the Condo and start home. I think we are just going to drive and see how far we get. We don't have a stopping point for the way back. I can't believe we are going to Orlando and NOT doing WDW! I had even thought of just doing MGM and MK and SW. We get more bang for our buck by going to USF though. Also, we got a great rate of just $179 for RPR! Thank You AAA!

Ave, great news on the home! can't wait to see photos of it!

Tiger Lily, good luck at the Dr!

Off to get my chores done! Have a great day ya'll!!!

EDIT: Forgot to ask! Can I bring back anything for anyone from DTD or a Resort? Just send me a PM of what you want/need! I'll be happy to get it for you! :earsgirl:

Sounds great to me. Michele.
We keep our fingers crossed for you that Wilma doesn't interfere with your plans - nor Alpha, Beta or Gamma ;)
We never needed more than two days for IoA and USF as we always go off-season past Labour Day and well before Thanksgiving. But as we usually have that four-day-pass, we often call it a day around 3pm and do three shorter days. We usually don't do rides when the sign says more than 10 minutes wait. We then simply come back later. And then we always try to be anti-cyclic: We go into the park very early and head directly for the attractions which are most distant from the entrance. Around lunch-time we switch to the areas closest to the entrance. This does work perfectly!!!

Looks like "Wilma" will be staying away from us, but may hit South Florida :guilty:

Eric, congrats on your promotion! :cheer2:

I have not been paying much attention to this Hurricane, but they said on the radio this morning that it is now a cat 5! That it probably won't hit as a 5, but maybe a 3! Holy cow! Where are they all coming from?! Stay safe everyone!

This year seems to be kind of expensive for Dixie with three major storms hitting the South :guilty: At least this one loooks not like being a danger for the oilproduction in the Gulf, but it may be very harmful to the Keys and Southern Florida.

OK, no more posting from me today as I'll spend the evening with Gramps, watching a DVD. I brought 'Cocoon' and 'The Million Dollar Babe' for him to choose from.
Take care

Congrats on the promotion Eric!

Can't believe the number of storms this year -- hopefully this means that next year will be quiet.

Was looking at the cruise board for the rates for 2007 -- all I can say is wow have the prices ever gone up!

Back to work here.

Fiona

Another vote for Cocoon here - I really didn't enjoy Million Dollar baby.

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. The busy life of a mom with a 2YO son :crazy2: I was wondering who has made reservations for their pre-cruise hotel and if so, where are you staying? I am debating between the Radisson & Ron Jon's. We have never stayed at either. Our kids will be 7 and 3 1/2 at the time so which do you think would be more fun for them? :scratchin

If I understand correctly, we as a group will book a place to stay and hopefully get a better rate. At the rate the Radisson is charging, it might be cheaper to stay at a Disney Resort and take a shuttle over.

Our gas prices have come DOWN! It was 2.74 yesterday and today it is 2.54!!! It is the cheapest around here. For whatever reason, the gas at our exit is cheaper then elsewhere in the Charleston area. I'm NOT complaning, just wondering!

Had to go and buy the boys warm clothes today! It's suppose to get cold this weekend and only be 49 as a high for Monday! Thank goodness, I bought the right sizes!!!!!!

Good night everyone!

Hi everyone....we are back from Chicago. This is only my second time there but I love that place. It is such a clean and beautiful city. (You know how much I LOVE NY, but Chicago is SO much nicer!) We had great unseasonably warm weather also. Too bad we couldn't have had that the weekend before in NY. Tomorow evening we leave for the drive up to PA. Our daughter is being honored on Friday and we received a personal invitation from the president's office to attend. After that we have no more trips planned until the spring. Whew.....it's been a whirlwind the last few months!
Eric: Congrats on the promotion....I can't think of anyone more deserving!
Michele: We will probably stay at the airport the evening before the cruise because we are not adding any time in the parks. Last time we flew in Friday evening and stayed at a budget airport hotel with a free shuttle. Then we took the DCL bus the next morning. Since we were only 2, it was the easiest and most cost efficient. If enough people stayed at the same place it might be worthwhile to hire a limo. Unfortunately we missed the get-together at the Radisson, but we were getting in so late we wouldn't have made it anyhow. Since fall is always a busy conference time for my husband, we try to limit the lost work days to as few as possible.
Nancy: how is the sciatica?
Kim: hope the leg is doing better
Arlene: didn't you LOVE Nip/Tuck last night? Great plot twist!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to pop on and say Hi!
Congrats Eric on the promotion, what a nice thing to go back to after vacation! Jeanne, wow, you get around!! Glad you had a great time! Hello to everyone else. I never post anymore, just lurk. Kind of missing all our Cruisetoberfest friends! Eric and Anja ALMOST had us talked into changing back while they were here. If they had had one more week.... well you never know! LOL! I hope everyone is happy and healthy... Jenn

Our gas prices have come down also. But more importantly we HAVE gasoline! Most gas stations have been closed for weeks, with just a few opened, and those with a limit on gas. I think this is a way of trying to get Florida residents to rethink off shore drilling. The oil companies have been trying for YEARS to get approval for drilling in the Gulf off Florida's coast. What a great idea...lets put a few hundred MORE drilling platforms in the path of hurricaines!!!Funny, if you drive just 70 miles North to Alabama, NO gas shortages as soon as you cross the Fl/Ala state line.
Has anyone else had trouble finding gasoline?

"Lost" was great tonight.

We are thinking about Ron Jons for next year. Ave's family and mine can stay in a 2 bedroom unit for about the same as the cost for us each to have a place at the Radisson. I think the kids will enjoy the water park. I think they now allow "cruise parking".

Time to go to work.
