:teeth:
Of Course I Did ..Had to get my cheesecake and a Rueben..

OMG, cheescake AND a Reuben.....those portions are enormous....hope you shared with Jenn!!!!!! What did Eric and Anja eat?

Welcome, Tiger Lily!

Nancy -- Why couldn't you renew your annual pass? Isn't it cheaper to renew than to buy a new pass? Did you buy your pass with the DVC discount? Alltho I guess that discount didn't start until early 2005?? Every time we had new computer stuff at the hospital, I was the dunce of the class. Quite embarrassing!

It is cheaper to renew and what we have always done for years is renew past our due date, but have it back dated to the renewal date. It is to be renewed in June, but we would wait until our next WDW visit and renew then usually Oct but have it to expire in June. So I am paying for a year but really only have 9 months of use. Hope that makes sense, well last year we went to renew them at AK guest services and this CM was not very magically. She goes oh you are one of those that try to get it renewed past the due date, we don't allow that any more. She went way off on this and said she was making a note on my account that I can not do that in the future. Plus she charged me twice for each pass and when I went to check out had this on my bill, which could not be removed since the bill had been finalized in accounting at midnight. The CM at CS where we were staying really tried to fix it but wasn't able to, so had to be taken care of by Disney accounting department. So this year with the DVC discount, we are just going to start fresh with an Oct renewal. With the discount it isn't that much more to buy a new one. Since you get $100 off with new and $75 to renew. Then I will have my Oct, Dec, Spring trip and post cruise visit all on this pass.

I would also be interested in a cruise on another line. Once my conference is over and disney trip, I can do some research. I get tons of cruise discount emails.

The computer class was so boring and no one can even answer how my department can get our consults out of this system. I found out the electronic tablet they bought me was over $2000. Times that by the hundreds of these things they have bought for everyone and you are talking alot of money. At least I learned how to turn it on and turn the screen around. Some departments are carrying it around like it is a designer purse.

My sciatic nerve is acting up again. I could hardly sit in that class today. i don't have time for that to be a problem again. So heading home to ice it and take drugs.

Nancy

Nancy..pixie dust on the sciatic problem....Sam just went to the doctor today because he is really having a problem with his back (actually pain going down his leg) Since he already had back surgery, they don't want to fool around and are sending him for an MRI and an EMG/nerve conduction test...he will have it here at my hospital so I should be able to get the results immediately. Funny, he lifted 200-250 lbs. constantly at work even after the back surgery (which his ortho dr. said he shouldn't do) and many days worked 16 hour days and just kept pushing himself. He has been out of work for 14 months and going to school and the sitting in a classroom is killing him. He has a very pronounced limp and dr. is going to start with PT. At least he is giving business to my hospital!! We are just going to take it one step at a time. Between my bad knees and his back and leg problems, we can't have a good pair of legs between us!!

BTW...have to brag...Sarah has been inducted into the National Honor Society at school....as she says, it is no big deal, Mom but I think that it is!!

In my excitement this morning I forgot to say

WELCOME TIGER LILY!!!

Nancy, take care of that back! I feel your pain...literally! Lots of ice and lots of streches! I think they help more then the drugs. Although, being the Pharmacists wife, I have to say, Drugs are our friends!

CONGRATS to Sarah! That is quite the accomplishment! She might not think it's a big deal, but we know she worked hard to get there!

Peter....Ruban and cheescake sounds like the perfect lunch to me! Can't wait to see the photos from your adventures!

A cruise between cruises, huh? I just wonder if we could squeeze that in too....I dunno though. Plan it and I'll present it to the moneymaker!

Nancy: so sorry to hear the sciatica has returned.

MaryJo: also sorry to hear about Sam's back, but congratulations to Sarah for making NHS. That is quite an accomplishment and you deserve to be proud!

Pixie dust to Nancy and Sam! So sorry to hear that both of you are having problems again. What a bummer.

Congratulations, Sarah! I think being inducted into the National Honor Society is a great accomplishment -- :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks for the welcome.

email sent to the keeper of the list. :sunny:

NHS is a big deal. Congrats on that.

Sorry about those achies. The getting old thing is certainly not all I thought it was when I was a kid.

Better living through drugs for sure. ;)

TigerLily03,
I got your mail and now you're officially a member of our gang
Your DH will find some colleagues in our group, and if he likes to, I can get some patches from my hometown's PD for him. Just tell me in time and I will get some before the cruise. I will do an update of The List very soon and send it to you. Right now -as you may have seen- we are in the USA, but we're scheduled to return on Saturday. Perhaps I can do an update while we're here, but I can guarantee that it will not be later than Monday !!!

Yes, we have to admit that while Jenn & Peter were feasting at the Carnegie Deli we prefered to stroll around Times Square and grabbed a Kid's Meal at McD's. As we didn't work out while we're here, we have to be careful with those calories. But I have to admit that we've meade a serious dent in teh numbers of doughnuts available over here :teeth: DD and HoneyDew got a lot of greenbacks from us.
I guess, we'll have to throw in some extra-workouts at the gym when we're back. Should be a piece of cake as both of us got new running shoes at one of our sprees to the factory outlets: Anja got three pairs and I also bought two pairs. As we use them at least 10 hours per week they don't last very long ;)
Tomorrow we'll have dinner at a Chinese place with the Bostonians and Kim & Bette - And I guess we'll have the waiters sing 'Happy BiLthday' for Anja.
Today we went to "The Museum of our National Heritage' - that's 'your' heritage, of course ;) They're having a very moving exhibit about 9/11 there right now. There's Cleenex-boxes everywhere and they have to restock them quite often. If this exhibit comes to your place you should make sure to see it!!!! Especially after having been to Ground Zero last weekend this was very moving :(

Is this rain ever going to stop here in the New England area? I feel like my head is in the fog, lol. Sinus/Allergy season time. Hoping for sunshine soon. :sunny:

I think I might add the REAS package. Anyone else do that?

Great news Mary Jo, Sarah is such a smart kid, Can't wait to see you guys this winter!!! Tell Sam to take care and not do too much. I also sent a e-mail to your office.

Hugs, Kim

Congratulations to Sarah, MaryJo. Sorry to hear about Sam. Hope that everyone gets better soon. Michele, I have had back surgery so I know how your back can give you trouble. Mike

Congrats Sarah - that is a great achievement.
Sam and Nancy - hope you feel better soon.
Wendy

Peter, you're so very welcome. John and I had a great time meeting you and visiting some of the old neighborhoods again.

OK, I'm off again.....this time to Chicago....gotta finish packing. We'll be back Tuesday night and then we take off Thursday night for Lehigh to visit our Jen. It's gonna be one of those midnight express trips. After that we're staying put until Spring!

Big ooops.....I almost forgot........HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANJA!!!!!!!! Have a wonderful day!

Anja says 'Danke schön' for all the birthday greeteing :wave2:

Mechelle,
we're fleeing from New England tomorrow - we're sick of the rain :teeth: just kidding: We are scheduled to fly home tomorrow anyway, I have to be at the office on Monday and Anja at the hospital on Tuesday. We can take the rain with us, but we'll leave it in Iceland, where we'll switch planes ;)
Bette & Kim,
drive safely!!

Jeanne,
enjoy The Windy City :wave2:

For whatever it's worth, I just went to our local AAA office and bought one of the old Park Hoppers -- no extra charge for park hopping and no charge for the non-expiration option. I'm hoping to get away with the "finger" problem if one should exist when Sam goes to use it in April after Scott has used it in December-- have a couple of ideas how to get around that if it does become a problem.

Have a safe trip home Eric and Anja -- and Happy Birthday again, Anja!

My mom's internist saw her this morning at her assisted living facility and gave her about 2-3 months to live at most. She is definitely not doing well after her surgery, but that was pretty much expected. At her age, a broken hip has a high mortality rate. She still does not recognize me. I'm going to WDW this Sunday in spite of her condition. Feeling a little guilty about making the trip, but this one has been planned for years, and everyone (including doctors) has told me to go. At least I don't have to worry about her missing me since she doesn't seem to know that I exist at this point. Kind of funny -- when the doctor called me this morning, she said that my mom was alert and answered all her questions. Only problem was that the answers did not match the questions. It will truly be a miracle if they ever find a cure for Alzheimer's Disease.
