Michael! I love the Katie pictures. But where is one with her and Mickey? :confused3

Get well wishes to Michele.

How are our German friends doing up there in New England???

Rainy day at CC. But, a rainy day at CC is better than any day most anywhere else. :rotfl2: We are in a tropical wave. Captain says weather might clear out by mid morning. If so, we get to go back!! Crossing fingers..

Richard wants to know what Anja thought of The Biggest Dog in the World!? :dog:

Great pictures, Mike! Isn't it fun to take the grandkids to WDW? Gavin (our DGS) had his 3rd birthday celebration at Chef Mickey's. Thanks to DVC, he has been to WDW 3 times, Disney's HHI resort twice and a short Wonder trip (actually the DCL trip was paid in cash which is why it was a short cruise!). He went on POC when he was 3 and was terrified and still won't go back on even tho he is 6 now. Also, we could never get him on Dumbo (never could figure out why he doesn't want to go on that ride since he has been on Splash Mountain and loved it).

Rosemary,
we're having a whale of a time up here: Today we went to Cape Cod and then to the Premium Outlets in Wrentham, where we gave the American economy a mighty boost ;)
Tomorrow we'll do the Freedom Trail in Boston.
Anja love Gulliver and he loved her :dog2: :pug: :dog: :paw: I shot a couple of pics of the two and will upload them after our return.
Tonight we learned something new: We now know how skunk smells as one of Jenn's cocker spaniels got sprayed by one :scared1:
I must say that Bambi was wrong as a skunk is not a :flower1:

Oh Jenn, I am SOOO sorry for you, here are my favorite picks to get rid of skunk odor, white vinegar or Douche liquid.

Good Luck,

Kim

Okay - I'm a sick puppy..I actually like the smell of skunk-of course from a distance. It brings back the memory of visiting my grandparents in connecticut.

Denise,
Thanks so much for the restaurant reviews. We already had the California Grill on our list, so it was great to hear that was fabulous.

The Coral Reef is a real surprise. I've always wanted to try it but have only read terrible reviews of it. I wonder what the chances are of getting a table for 10 near the tank in January? With 6 kids with us, we need to have a Great view or not go at all. I'll check into it.

Good to know about Boma too. We were thinking of going there--a lllooonnnggg way from the Poly and we would have been disappointed if it was a zoo.

I wonder how Chef Mickey's is for dinner? We were wanting one more on the monorail line (did Ohana last year.) And one more at Epcot. We're also repeating Biewgarten for sure.

Glad you had a great trip. Maybe Mike wil have more reviews for us too.
Jennifer

My parents' dog gets sprayed at least twice a year at the Cape. Skunks must be rampant there as every day we smell them on our walks around town. She still uses tomato juice on the dog.

Mike, Loved the pictures! I notice you conveniently kept yourself out of the camera's eye.

I have to force myself to get in the picture a couple times each trip just to show the kids later that mommy really was on the vacation with them. :magnify:

Jennifer, Glad you survived the RC. Our dentist has TV's in the ceiling so you are distracted. I would have been the same way.

Mike, GREAT photos! Even with as many times as we have been to WDW, every time I see photos, it just makes me want to go back again!

Denise, Becareful out there! Hope you had a good night!

As for restaurant reviews....we loved California Grill...it was just Steve and I, the boys were in the kids club. We enjoyed Bomas and Whispering Canyon Cafe....BUT we had kids and the louder the better! :earboy2: Neither place I felt like the boys had to be seen and not heard. We enjoyed the food at Bomas! Some people just don't like it. Now Coral Reef we were not all that impressed. The food was okay and the atmosphere was GREAT...we were right at the tanks watching divers. I think the BILL is what killed it for us! I guess I thought I could get food just as good someplace else but for less money. It just didn't make us want to go back. Chef Mickey's is great for breakfast or dinner! We love it there!

Arlo....There are some scents that bring back memories for all of us...good or bad smells. It's not that you might like the smell, you like the thoughts that it brings back! Nothing wrong with that!

BigRed....Wishing you calm seas and blue skies for Castaway Cay!!! ENJOY!!!

Wishing you ALL a WONDERful, MAGICal day!

Michelle,
We are thinking of doing the Kids Club at the Poly the night we go to California Grill too. We've never done a Kids Club there. It makes me a little nervous, but if they will be at Poly and we will be at CR, I guess I feel close enough. Or, I wonder if they could go to the CR's Kids Club? The boys will be 11,8,7,5.

We'll have 2 yr old twins too, so they will either be with us or have an in-room babysitter.

I'd like to make our California Grill ressies for during the fireworks, but I don't know what time they will be in January. Any help?

Hi from WDW. Nancy sent you a PM.

Haven't read the thread yet but hopefully everyone is well and the Germs are having a good time visiting New England.

Weather here is humid and wet. It's rained everyday so far although not too much although we are waiting to see what Tropical Storm Tammy does.

We are eating like pigs and not using up all the meal plan credits so have to pick up the pace! Went to MNSSHP and had a great time although Jim won't share his candy. Slept in til 10:50am the next morning so we are definately getting older and need more sleep. (Jim says to speak for myself on this one but I woke him up that morning).

Have visited the Food and Wine Festival as well. You can use snack credits on the dining plan for this.

Eating at Tony's tonight -- lots of bad reviews I know but we're going to see for ourselves.

Fiona (and Jim)

Thank you for sharing the photos - she is so cute!
Eric, glad you are having a great time - you will enjoy the Freedom Trail.
Fiona and Jim - so jealous of you being there for the F&W festival - the photos and menus sound so good!
Wendy

I agree about the price being rather high at Coral Reef. We had also read the mixed reviews, and thankfully seemed to get there on a really good night for food and atmosphere - got to see divers in the tank. I will say, I didn't see a bad seat in the place. Maybe for smaller children who can't see over the short walls (it was one whole wall of water and stadium like seating in a curve in front of it and the walls that seperated each level came up to my shoulder when seated). It appears the dining plan is working. We heard couples and families saying they would have never tried the signature restauants w'out it because of the higher prices, but now would definitely have to come back next time! We didn't use the plan , but as breakfast was a muffin and juice every morning, lite to no lunches (too busy!) dinner was a free for all!

And please, don't get me wrong, I don't mean it was a zoo at Boma's because of kids. There were kids everywhere at Chef Mickeys and we did that twice and loved it. It was fun watching the characters with the children. It was a zoo because the tables are so close together to get maximum people in, the buffet was on the far side instead of the middle so everyone was fighting (literally) to get to the food, and the bahaviors - to include adults - going on there that night evan gave me a head ache! But besides that, Chris just did not care for the different spices and such used on the food. To make up for that dinner, I caved and we went to see Cirque!
So, as I did, you got to wade thru all the reviews and take a chance. Half the fun of our trip for me was the planning and then seeing how my research payed off! That is why it is so much fun now planning our cruise days!

I am a little worried about the scuba now. A friend got certified at the same place we will be going to and told me about the swim portion. I can keep myself alive, but he said we have to do four complete trips (down & back) across the pool at the Y and stay afloat for 10 minutes, not on your back. He said not to worry, the only people failed out had asthma. Hey, thats me. So, I have to go investigate the pool and see about swim lessons as the only time I swim is on vacation! The stress of it all!

Well, have fun planning for your wonderful trips or if all ready traveling - enjoy! D

Fiona and Jim,
Hope you are having a GREAT time and the tropical storm does not mess up your plans.

We loved the dining plan when we were there in march and plan to use it again in January. You are right--it is too much food. (Dessert at lunch and dinner with an ice cream snack in between!!) Have a great time trying to use your credits though. I can't wait for your report when you return.

Jennifer

Mike: loved the photos....the ones of katie with all the princesses are so cute!
Jenn: I sent you a email to your aol account but I have a feeling you didn't get it. I thought if we could preorder tickets for the Saturday evening performances, there would be a better chance of getting Nancy and Arlene to come into the city. They had some pretty good deals for Beauty and the Beast and Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang.
I think I emailed you Sunday evening, so I don't know what's still available. You must be having too much fun with the Germs to check your email, eh?
Make sure you pm me cell phone #s by tomorrow. We leave early on Friday and I won't have online access in the city.
Fiona and Jim: hope you're having a wonderful time
I hope everyone with teeth and back problems is feeling better!
