Thanks Nancy - thought that was Flo. Love the picture you paint in your post -- personally I think she should have shipped her home and just raced with a blow up doll. Would have been quieter.

Love the song and the video too. His songs are so funny sometimes.

Eric, don't you like Jeanne? It sounds like you are trying to kill her. :headache:

No way, she's my friend and I want to see her happy - That's what tequila is for ;)
If she can't cope with it: No problem - John is a doc :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I like that idea even better. Apparently her and Drew are still an item. Hope they don't take any long trip together.

Don't worry Wendy we can always put your mum in one of those bike buggys that are always sitting outside of C&C.

I might have to try AK in Oct for the late night just to see the lights, since that is something you don't normally see over there.

Jeanne - you will be responsible for getting Doreen back on the ship then!!! We have yet to make it to C&C but think this time we will be there.
Eric - I also love the ferryboat ride but if the choice is going there or not I will go with what mum wants - a lot is psychological about the distance but if I am half as good as her at that age I will be happy. Oh and we can beat your record on Tower of Terror - 4 times in 1 hour at both MGM and disneyland!
I also loved the AK after hours, it was cooler and slightly less crowded. However the safari closed very early.
Wendy

As Anja and I usually don't drink -only when we're on vacation- and not when the sun is still up, we skipped C&C last time. But next year we may join the party :teeth: Although after two dives it may not be advisable, but we'll see pirate:
OK, four times R'n'R-Coaster we did, and even 5 times the Hulk. But we won't do ToT more than once or twice next year.
We also hope that the new coaster at AK will be operable next year.

But ToT is the tamest of the lot! And please don't think Mum drinks - she can never remember the names of the drinks she may have from one year to the next. However I'll take the bike buggy!

Norm and I don't drink very much either. But we do on vacation especially when we don't have to drive to get home.

My first trip to C&C, DS#2 was with us and he was appalled that I drank that much (like he doesn't). I was told my mouth never shut up and I really don't remember leaving the place. It is those yard long Strawberry Daiquiris that got to me. However, we went back to the ship and I slept for a couple of hours and was fine. So I still say I wasn't that drunk. Since then I have been better restrained. I'm sure that we should all have a blast at C&C.

Nancy...is there someplace you can go on the web to see "where are they now" on the past contestants of the Amazing Race....I could swear that one of the twins is doing a Lencrafters commercial...maybe it is just someone who looks like him. What does he see in Flo? All of that whining is just too much to take....I also laughed when she whined to the brothers about wanting a McDonald's and they said "stop..it's to early to whine!" I love the two clowns in AR4!! They actually performed at a circus here not too long ago!!

Nancy, I know that you were collecting the charms from Diamond International for your bracelet so let me know if you want me to pick up charms for you in St. Lucia and Barbados and you could return the favor in the Mexican ports (I never got one in Cozumel and the new port of Costa Maya)--only problem is that I have no idea where I put the bracelet...I have the card that gets stamped but no bracelet but I have a while to find it!! So if you want, I would be happy to do this just send me the bracelet and card to be stamped (closer to the cruise) and then I would send both bracelets back to you for your cruise. Mary Jo

There are alot of amazing race websites out there, I will have to check if they have a where are they now thread on any of them. Someone did mention that the twins have been on Old Navy commercials. Heaven knows what he sees in Flo, especially if he watched the show.

What a wonderful idea about the bracelet. My Antigua charm feel off but I still have it. I wear the bracelet, it will be finding the card for me. Just remind me closer, we have a year to find what we need.

Is Sarah going into 10th Grade this year? My favorite school year for my sons was the junior and senior years. Those years they were so busy that it went by quickly. But glad they are far behind us. Now we just need to get both out of college in the next year.

Great news that DS#2 got an A- in Women Studies, what a struggle. Plus an A in the athletic course he was taking, I wasn't involved in that course like I was for Women's Studies so I don't even know what that course was about. But I sure know Women Studies. I think I'm more relieved than he is that it is over, I was so tired of listening to him whine about it. He will be leaving in less than a week to go back.

Time to go home. Then to the gym. I have to stay in shape to keep up with Eric and Anja.

Nancy

I only drink when it's free, so there's no need to worry about me at Carlos and Charlies.....unless of course someone wants to donate to the cause!
And Mum is NOT a lush! So sorry if I gave the wrong impression. I think she's pretty much a teetotaler, but she's so good-natured I just can't resist teasing her! Wendy on the other hand........

Does that mean that Nancy got an "A-" in the course?

I've seen one of the twins many times in the Kohl's pamphlets.

Wendy: John, Jenni and I are having dinner with Shelley, Jay, Courtney and Kris tonight.

JJsMama, Please don't worry about finding things to do in Mexico or anywhere else for that matter. With this group you will have a list to choose from. And joining everything or nothing is totally up to you.
Example: Our day in Cozumel started with a short ride to Eagle Ray Dives at a nearby marina. There were 10 of us, including the "Germs". :goodvibes We spent the day diving and snorkleing. The boat was old, but the tour was well run. It included a stop for lunch, and drinks were provided on board. (Beer and soft drinks) We returned to the ship, showered and changed, got the kids settled, ordered room service for them for dinner, and went back ashore with my sister and her DH for some shopping. We found a small cafe, ordered 2 for 1 beer, and some Mexican munchies. It was a very relaxing evening. Ran into a few of our cruise friends while walking around. Including someone who had finished a rather large margarita. :teeth: We even got to see a couple leaving C&C in a hurry, as thier ship pulled out of port. :earseek:
Then went back to the ship and joined the "sail away party". We are looking forward to both stops in Mexico next year. Glad your DH is starting to get interested. That does make it easier.
Colleen, I can't do the split screen thing, so I take notes. Just figured you did the same. :cool1: To do the é just press Alt and hold down, then hit 0233 on your number keyboard. Not sure if you can do this on a laptop.
Later, Avé

Jeanne - the drinks are on me! You certainly didn't give the impression Mum is a lush - I was scared I had. She's not teetotal (and I'm certainly not!!!) but she hates being out of control - I have once seen her buy a drink at a bar and I was so shocked. Please tell Shelley, Jay, Courtney and Kris that we send our love.
Nancy - well done to your son - and to you of course!

I hear you about a diabetic going to the Food & Wine Festival but they are small portions and not everything is sweet.

We will be at WDW Oct 1-10 so will be there while you are although we are doing MNSSHP on the 2nd.

The F&WF is interesting. The samples are fairly small although we tend to share them just so that we can sample more. We usually spend an afternoon walking around eating. One suggestion is to have small bills available to pay as the samples are $1-5 and it's much faster to pay cash than use your KTTW card (I think you can use it). This year there's a peanut farmer demonstration that we'd like to attend that's free. We are into free here.

Must go and get ready for work -- at least it's almost Friday!

Fiona
We went to Epcot last year after CFIII. Happened on to the F&WF, and had a blast. The food is great, and the beverages even better. That was before I knew I was diabetic. Missed the concert that night, but hope to catch one this year. Would love to see Kansas, but I guess we will settle for Edgar Winter...Maybe we can get together one day. Going to DD on the 6th and maybe MNSSHP that night. Next day Epcot, next day AK.

Wendy,
what happens if I bring that post to the attention of the Aberdonian authorities? Will you be expatriated for excessive generosity? :teeth:

We too, have done MVMCP, MNSSHP and F&WF. I thought the F&WF was just okay. We are not drinkers...one occasionally with a dinner out, so we didn't drink our way around the world. I enjoyed trying the different foods, but thought they were a bit pricey for what you got. JMHO. I would rather have had a full meal in a resturant. I am jealous that a bunch of you are going to be in the world this October! that is our favorite time to go! With the boys in school, it is hard! I am hoping to be there next summer, but we'll have to see what the finances hold...espcially with the cruise next year too!

And we saw that couple being rushed over to their cruiseship by a Coast Guard Cruiser after they obviously hailed it by radio and made it stop about a kilometer off-shore :rotfl2:
I guess that was the most expensive drink they ever had :teeth:

Hi Guys - Popping in for my Friday Hello. Working on getting vacation pictures onto Yahoo site for viewing. But housework is taking priorty! Darn ol' housework!!!

Hoping everyone is well. Is one of our ports where Carlos and Charlie's is?? I'd be up for a group gettogether there. LOL! Where was that? Cozumel?? Shows you how much ports mean to me. We booked this cruise just because it was Cruisetoberfest - so annoyed we were that Eric won a cruise so Cruisetobefest III was in a year we couldn't go! That was fun. I remember cheering him on during the game. I couldn't believe he did it!!! So glad that he did afterall because CBIII ended up being a big success too (from what I hear) and now there are veterans from that cruise to meet on CF-IV!!

Anyway, am I rambling?? YES I AM!!! Back to housework but before I go, Cathy, hope you and Art are well. If you are lurking, please respond to the email Rich and I sent you, one way or other, just yes or no would be fine. Thanks. :love2:

Rosemary,
we were similarily annoyed about winning the free cruise as we originally planned to do Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and California in 2004. But we accepted our fate and did another cruise :rotfl2:
Nevertheless we were able to tick off another two states on our List: South Carolina and Georgia.
And in just six weeks we'll add Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York. And perhaps Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. I don't know if we'll ever make all 50 states, but at least we're trying it.

So are we Eric. So are we...... :rotfl:

Eric - yes I would most certainly be expatriated for excessive generosity! Of course that may then give me the push to leave Aberdeen.
And I too remember being so excited when I read on the boards that a Diser had won a free cruise!
And yes C&C's is in Cozumel.
