10-12 year olds on Dining Plan

maybe a teen eating as much as adult, but not kids between 9 to 12 or so unless your child has some kind of pitutiary problem the body release too much HGH and the child keeps eating to grow which results in gigantism andrea the giant had that problem as a kid at 9 years old he was 6'6" already weighing about 300lbs and could eat up a whole buffet...anyways yeah I agree with OP about a 9 year old charged an adult on the DDP.

My 9 year old is small doesn't eat much and only weighs 55 pounds but the kids meals weren't enough for her. 3 chicken nuggets 6 baby carrot sticks and 10 grapes with a small juice box just doesn't cut it.

Thanks for posting exacly what I witnessed 3 weeks ago. I hope folks take notice. Some of the kids meals look more like toddler meals.

This is another great point that many people miss. DDP is just ONE of several discount plans that can save you money. It is NOT for everyone, and it may not be the BEST discount plan for your family. It's easy to get tunnel-vision, but you do a lot better if you look at ALL the options available to you and select the best for your particular situation on that particular trip.

We're planning a trip to WDW in summer 2008. During our last trip (2005 Xmas), we stayed at the Poly, and used the dining plan for our 9 nights. It was great fun, and we tried lots of new restaurants.

Now, for this trip, we're exchanging our timeshare, and definitely plan NOT to eat at many WDW restaurants. Even if we were staying on site, the dining plan would run us close to $200, as all of my "kids" are adults. We'll do counter service for lunches (trying to do what I consider the better ones) and eat off site, either at our condo or at restaurants in Orlando.

The budget for this trip in 2008 will be signicantly less than 2005, and I'm sure we won't miss the dining plan all that much

My 10 year old son is thrilled to now be an "adult" in regard to the Dining Plan! Last time we went, he was 9 and he had "outgrown" the kid's menus. He would much rather have lamb or salmon with couscous on the side. The dessert he is most looking forward to on our next trip? Pistachio creme brulee. :upsidedow
