At 1100, Tropical Storm Jeanne is moving straight through the Leeward Islands, scheduled to pass through the Virgin Islands on her way to the Bahamas. The Other One is still moving northward.

Hi Guys Kim here...

We ran into the dollar store yesterday and picked up a few sets of alphabet magnets @ $1.00 ea., (plastic kind kids put on the refrigerator) Thought it would be kind of fun to add the our magnets that Renee' made us all.

However, I am pretty sure it will be interesting to see some words some people( younger cruisers ?) might choose to spell on our door... One more thing to pack.

Back to work, of course NO DOCUMENTS for us <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/1018.gif' border=0></a>...

Bette and Kim ... Were your ears ringing last night? Art and I were talking about having pre-assigned cabins and then Art said "unless they do to us what they did to poor Bette & Kim last year". Please, let us all get the cabins we asked for and no screw ups.

Hint .. I just got one of those neat room scent-fan w/batteries thingys's for the "cabin smell". (Can you tell I can't remember the brand name!) I figure if it's automatic and puffs every so often, no plugs to worry about setting the ship on fire.

One question .. Does anyone know. If I get one of those plug in night lights that are the "led" type, when I turn off the lights for the bathrooms does that turn off the power to the outlets? I'm having a senior moment and can't remember.


Tht UPS dude better stop at my house tonite or it won't be pretty! (Sorry, going a little cruise crazy)

Just counting down the days here at work -- 11 more to go. Two weekends to get everything done!

Fortierv - are the unexpected guests paying the tab? If so, I'd keep them!

Ave - Hope you are safe. Are you evacuating? Jim heard that an evacuation order had gone out for PCB but he wasn't sure if it was mandatory or not. Hope all are safe.

I just got a phone call from Jasma at Ron Jon Resort and they have cancelled our reservation due to hurricane damage. Of course now we are all in a fine mess trying to get hotel rooms this late. Have any of you had your phone call yet ???

I hope it is what I think it is - return address says "Disney"!!!! I have to go in to work a few minutes early, so I can open them with DH! The waiting is KILLING me!

Goofynut - have you tried the airfreshener to see how it smells? DH is very intolerant of real strong smells and I was looking at those too! I am interested in the electric issue too. I am taking the same kind (my favorite in the house, very soft light near the bed, keeps me from tripping over one of the herd!) Gotta get ready to go! Everyone take care and pixie dust to the UPS guy to speedily get to everyone's doors who are waiting!

Kim - I just call Ron Jon and found out I was next on the list to be called for cancelling our room. Glad that I'm working from home today since I now have to find someplace for us to stay or we'll be sleeping in the rental car.

Just answered my phone at work and we were just cancelled at Ron Jon's. I told the girl that I was very annoyed to think that they wouldn't give us any options as to where else we might be able to get reservations on such short notice--I told her that I understood that they had damage but they should at least give us some options of where else to stay.

I use the LED type of nightlights and it works when the lights go out, if the box is working. Last year, our box with the outlets didn't work in the bathroom with the toilet. They said they would have someone look at it, but it never did work the entire cruise. In 2002, we used it and it worked like a charm.

Can we say " Kinda screwed" right now... I can get a room for Thurs/Fri at the Hyatt for about $ 230.00 total, but that means we are out of the " loop" with everyone, a few of us are traveling down together on a late flight Thursday night...

So basically, we have no bloody idea what we are going to do...

Andy and I are staying at the Best Western in cocoa beach. The cost is $69/night and it is about 5 minutes from the port. If anybody is interested their phone # is 321-783-7621 or 800-962-0028. I called them yesterday to see how they held up with the hurricane. They said they had some damage but are operational.

So sorry about Ron Jon's! Are there any rooms left at the Radisson?
Fiona, There is a mandatory evacution for many areas of Panama City, and Panama City Beach. We are not in an evacuation zone at the moment. Schools are cancelled for the rest of the week and shelters are now open. We are staying put. DH is boarding up all the windows and sliding glass doors. It is looking like Ivan will hit west of us.
Jim Cantori (from the Weather Channel) is in PCB! Can you say "hunk"?
Got to run and fold more laundry!

The rate I was quoted from the Raddisson was $159.00 per night
That's double what RonJon was getting...
But what are we to do...
Does the Best Western have shuttle service to the port? Are do you take some other means of transportation?
