Renee we are planning on going to see the vietnam veterans wall, watch the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldiers and other tourist stuff along with having dinner Saturday night at Phillips seafood restaurant.

You can get an all day pass for the metro for 6 bucks that gives you unlimited rides and transfers for the day. It really helps to cut down on the walking. Here is a link to the metro sight and to phillips.Metro and Phillips

Mary so sorry to hear about Your and George's loss. You both are in our thoughts and prayers. Mike

Thanks for the info. I already got our Metro tickets (I ordered them online). Lenny really wants to check out the Air & Space museum both on the Mall and the one near Dulles Airport. We're also going to the Zoo to see the pandas and to the mint to see how money is made. We're staying until Monday to make time for all this. I really can't wait--I need a mini-vacation bad.

Me an' Cash, too!!

Renee -- You'll have to tell me what the mint is like. I watched a "Behind Closed Doors" with Joan Lundon (help I don't think I spelled her name right!) and she visited a mint although I can't remember where. It was really quite interesting. Loved that show actually.

So wish we couldn't have gone to DC but I can't take Friday off so it's just too long of a drive. Drats.

It's Monday at work -- I'm not :bounce: or :teeth:

Take care everyone.

Fiona

Hi Fiona,

I am with you, I would love to be going, and now I will be 5 hours closer. I am a speaker at a marine conference Monday AM 1st thing. It will be at Mystic Seaport / museum and after I am done mom & I will going into Manhattan for a little retail therapy at our favorite deli in the city, Carnegie deli in times Square... Anyone need anything from the big apple ???

Everyone have a super time, think of us poor souls in the cold north ...

Kim

The only thing we need from NY Kim is you and that young mother of yours safe return home and to see you on the cruise. Mike

Hi Everyone!:wave2:

Lot's going on. Worked 26 hours this weekend. Boss is back from Spring Break, so work is busy again. My receptionist had to go to Philly because her father is dying. So we have a lady filling in for her. And we got the sad news about Mary's friend. He was our friend too. :( So we are expecting Mary and her family tonight. The Service is Tuesday, and they will head home Wed. morning.
The kids went back to school today. :bounce:

Wonder why videogal keeps posting on our board? Should we say something?

Later, Ave

Kim -- I've never been to New York! I've driven around it but have never actually seen anything of it. Would love to see a Broadway show at some point. Have a good time and good luck with the presentation.

Ave -- not sure about videogal. Strange huh?

Must get going though, told DS I would drive him to school but only if he got up early -- of course I have to get him up.

Fiona

Sorry to say we wont be able to do the DC meet either. We were both looking forward to it but there is a lot of stuff(?) going on.

We cant wait to see everyone in Oct though...

Arlene

Arlene, I wish you and Andy could come. I will miss you. I know I haven't been on the board in a while but I have been so swamped with working and "stuff" for lack of a better word. I have been reading them though. I am sorry about the sadness on the boards with deaths of loved ones. I know it hurts. I am sorry.

Welcome to the new ones.

I had a nasty surprise yesterday coming home from slaving away over a baby all night. I was leaving work and coming around the next to the last turn in the parking garage when my car just stopped! I was so embarassed. The funny thing about it was that I was leaving work to take it to the dealership for it's 40 thousand mile check up. I called Mike, who told me to call the dealership, who told me to call roadside service, who called AAA towing, who called me to tell me that their big ole car hauler would NOT fit in the garage and could I get the car out pushing it? Well!, I never!!!! (That was a southern belle expression princess: )

Just thought you all would get a laugh out of that. I can laugh...now...but I wasn't laughing yesterday morning. By the way, the car's fuel injector pump broke.

Take care everyone and anyone on the road be careful. Kathy with a K

Oh yeah, Mike and Mike Jr came down to the garage just to push the darn car out to the guy with the truck.:( See all of you who get there Saturday at the Air and Space place.

I can't wait! Kathy

Hopefully your car is better soon Kathy. It is funny about having to push the car to the tow truck but I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time.

Raining here today and a little cool but definitely getting warmer.

We just returned from a company trip to Puerto Rico. We could sit on our balcony and see St Thomas off in the distance. When we flew back Sunday we could see the Wonder loading up in port. We're ready for October 2nd!!!

Hello. Wanted to pop in and see if this forum is open to all. I have never written to one before, but we (husband and I) are booked on the 10/02/04 cruise and are excited and interested in getting information from veteran cruisers. So, I hope it's ok to jump in, if it's all right with all the regulars!:scratchin

Hi fridayfun. Welcome to our thread. Feel free to post or reply whenever you want. We are a very fun group of people.

If you want, you can send your info to Eric (viking) so you can be part of our official group.

The email address is antiguaorbust@yahoo.com.

Just send this info to Eric (if you want to): your e-mail address; first names, ages & occupations of all the adults; kid's names & ages, main or late dinner seating, stateroom #, town and state where you live, where you are staying the night before the cruise and any special occasions you are celebrating during the cruise.

Hi Fridayfun -- please jump in and don't feel intimidated to post. Everyone here really is friendly. They welcomed us with open arms last year when we went on the cruise.

1971visitor -- That would have been so nice to see St. Thomas -- or anywhere at the moment.

So wish we could have gone to DC this weekend as work has been a real pain the last few weeks and I really need a break. This from a job that I would usually say isn't all that stressful or at least stressful with humour in it. Once had a house closing where the front door was stolen the day of closing!!! Stressful yes but also kinda funny.

Must go to bed now so that I can get up and do it all tomorrow -- at least Survivor and The Apprentice are on tomorrow. :D

Welcome to your first DCL cruise. Everyone here is fantastic and all are welcome. Since many of us have cruised together for the past 2-3 years some have set up dinner tables and linked our dinner reservations. If you are at early seating we have room for 2 more and you are welcome to join our table and share dinner with cdmickeylover,piglet33, bettemom & jeannec.

If you would like to join our table then please PM me with your "real" names, reservation number and we will link you into our table.

Welcome,

Bettemom & Kim

Please feel free to jump in. I am also a newbie to this group, having never met any of the veteran Cruistober Fest sailors before. I can tell you, however, that they are a very warm and welcoming bunch of people who now feel like family to me. Our cruisemeister (who happens to be on vacation at the time) is truly remarkable at organizing the list and setting up all sorts of completely optional activities to enjoy together. I can't wait to actually meet each and every one of the group!

Thanks for being to friendly! I just told my DH (is that husband?) about the forum and about the dinner invite. He is a little freaked out, but said he would read some of the boards and let me know soon. Hopefully before you fill the last two spots! I was wondering if anyone would give a brief account of who and how all of you got together, as I do not know how much of the discussions he will get through! This will be our 3rd anniversary on the cruise and even though we want to spend time together, I thought it would be nice to at least know something of the people we would be sharing dinner with and possibly more fun with if we choose! Hope this doesn't sound crazy, just two people who have never chatted online before! Thanks in advance!:wave2:
