jeanneg...for the past 3 trips we have done the drop off/park at the Radisson thing. DH dropps kids and I off, then parks the car at the Radisson and hops on the next shuttle. One person with no luggage is very easy to get on the shuttle. DH kept his ticket, picture ID,birth certificate, then just checked in when he got to the port. When I checked in I just told the clerk that DH would be checking in later. NO PROBLEM! In fact, since DH is NOT fond of waiting on line, it worked out just fine!
Renee...maybe we will look into the RON JON thing. Do they have a shuttle, and do they allow you to leave your car there??? If so we might want to check it out. The slide sounds like something my kids would LOVE! Do they have a web site?

Mary - when we did that a couple of years ago, DCL said not to have him keep his docs and wait in line, or they would have him fill out the credit card form again and other stuff. This caused a whole bunch of problems.

So last time, I kept all his stuff and he had his driver's license for a picture ID in case he needed it (he didn't). He dropped us off and returned the car to Budget and took their shuttle back. He waited in the security line and then took the escalator up to us.

Did all this change? Are you saying that he should hold all his docs and then wait in the long line to check in upstairs like I have to? I called DCL and was told different stories (I don't know why they can't be consistent with answers).

Thanks!

Renee

Hi Everyone!

Last year we stayed at the Radisson but ended up taking a taxi to the port since we couldn't get on a shuttle til 2:30pm and wanted to be at the port much earlier than that. It worked out fine for us since I didn't want to end up at the port by myself. Since we are non-US citizens we both had to be there to check in together. Wish they had more agents on the nonUS line up because it was very slow even though it wasn't very long. We won't even have the option of checking in at the castaway line this year but oh well.

Let me know about the Caribe because it sounds interesting. Although we are planning to stay at the Radisson at this point we aren't locked into it. We haven't decided when we are going to WDW this time either. Before the rooms would probably be cheaper but afterwards there's the MNSSHP and the Food and Wine Festival.

Tooth came out fine although I have no recollation of it. I opted for the sedation which was great. Actually only have a vague feeling that it took a while to get it out and then I was lying on the couch. Jim brought the car around to the back door and I remember getting into the car but nothing about the drive home and getting into the house. I remember getting into my pj's and sleeping. I'm feeling better now as I've taken the pain killer. I think the biggest problem now is going to be the stitches -- they are supposed to dissolve in 5-7 days but I can feel them. I vaguely recall when I had my wisdom teeth out that I actually took one stitch out b/c I couldn't stand it anymore. :D

It will be another quiet weekend here for me which is ok but anyone who wants to be outside here is nuts.

as we Germans are also considered as 'aliens' by your neighbours to the South :jester: we also have to queue up in that line. So a taxi could be worth a thought. We wouldn't use the parking space anyway and would use the shuttle only one way as after the cruise we will use Tiffany's for the return to MCO.
How much was the taxi-cab?
The Radisson offers an Internet-special for a room w/o shuttle & parking for $85. So Taxi & Internet-special could be about the same and more comfortable.
BTW, will you also go to MCO after the cruise? If so, we could share a van.
Pixie Dust to your tooth *~*~*~*~* or to the place where it used to be ;)

Hello everyone,

Sorry we have been out of touch lately, we're still alive and kicking.

Colleen told me she got a P.M. from Kim or Betty, don't remember which.

Colleen booked our room at the Radisson a couple of days ago.

Josh can't make up his mind if he want's to go or not.(I would hate to have a cat6 for just me and my wife).

We had Becca's birthday on Friday, and mine on Sunday.

We have a new granddaughter due 3/20/04, we can't wait.

Give me a day or two to get caught up on this board, and I'll make Colleen post.

I better get back to work now.

Eric - The taxi cost us about $8 with tip and dropped us right in the parking lot luggage drop off area so it was great. We will be driving again with our van and will be going back to Orlando afterwards so giving you a ride to MCO would definitely be a possibility. Last year I booked the internet rate almost at the last minute and had no problem with leaving the van at the Radisson for the week or taking their shuttle back to the Radisson after the cruise.

Feeling much better this morning but have to admit it will be nice to be able to chew food again in a few days. Although I love soup and pasta etc. a steak would be nice! It's been a great boost to my diet though.:D Plus the dog is thrilled because what I don't eat she's been getting.

Wow, that new resort looks great! Thanks so much for posting the links as I hardly ever have the time to check out the main DCL discussion board anymore. It's going to come down to staying at this glorious new resort and parking at the port or staying at the so-so Radisson, parking there and taking a taxi (I don't want to deal with the shuttle hassle). The second option will cost more but I think it will be well worth it. Anyway, this will be for our family trip in August......still plan to stay at MCO in October.

Hey Don,

Nice to hear from you. We were getting a little worried since you and Colleen have been MIA. Boy this weather makes me really want the cruise now!

Take care.

I know what you mean about time checking out the other boards. It is getting so hard now that Haley is running around. I finally had some "extra" time the other day and came across that link. Boy am I glad I did. Hubby is thrilled too. He can't wait to try the water slide. I'll be in the lazy river while he's doing that.

Glad that you are feeling better Fiona. Thanks for the list Eric.

Went and sprang Katie from Day Care yesterday and then when she came home she had a stomach virus. Kept her on pedialyte all night and most of the morning. She is doing better now.

Just finished a Cruizn rum and coke. We purchased the rum on our mystery cruise (disears) in 2002 on St. Thomas.

Pouring rain here at the moment and I am not complaining as we need the rain.

Anyone here in the state ready to do their federal income taxes? We are fortunate that here in Tennessee we have no state income tax. We do have a high sales tax and it is on food also.

I also waited for the paperback, Ave. Read it around xmas and liked it too.

We'll do our taxes in March so that the refund arrives in the summer well before the cruise. We usually get about $600 back - Will pay for the cocktails and the shore excursions :hyper:
