Hi Amy, Congrats on your new DD. Hope you''re still able to cruise with us. But there's always next year if you can't. Don't let that be a reason to skip hanging out with us.

Peter, What do you mean where do I go next? Didn't you know this group has been busy planning your entire winter?:hyper:

Fiona, how's the tooth?

Later, Ave'

PS WOW...Big Board! :p

Well, it's snowing here in NJ. Really coming down too. Guess we're in for another one of those storms. Makes me really glad that I work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I don't have to take Haley out in this.

Great to hear from you Amy. I was thinking about you the other day and was going to PM you but got sidetracked and forgot. Great to hear that you're having another girl princess:. Hopefully you can get good use out of Haley's Princess dresses from the cruise. I really hope you'll be able to join us on the cruise so Haley and Emily can go to Flounders and play together. Well, if not, like Ave said, there's always next year.

Take Care and Keep in Touch.

Hi Amy, glad to hear you and the growing family are doing well! I hope you are able to make the cruise, keep us posted!

Welcome home Peter and Jen. Sounds like a fine time was had by all.

Ave, I think you got it:bounce:

George got a big painting job! Yipee! I just have to hold the creditors off for a week and we will be "sitting pretty"!:teeth:

Has anyone seen "Cold Mountain" yet?? I have been wanting to see it. My friend/co-worker is a cousin of the guy who wrote the book (Charles Fraser) and has an autographed copy! I've heard it is a great movie, but may have to go see it by myself. I don't know if the kids would like it.

Glückwünsche, Amy & Chris  But you have to think of the consequences if you don't crusie with us: This will mean no Apfelkorn for you :jester:

Over here we had some pretty bad storms and some minor floodings, even with effects on the USA: The new cruiseship "Pride of America", which is under construction in Bremerhaven at the North Sea coast, was pushed against the pier by the storm destroying its moorings. They had to evacuate the shipyard workers in a flash, but nevertheless four of them where injured. The ship listed heavily and now at least three decks are flooded. Now they have to find a way to get it up into the vertical again before they can determine how much damage was done to the hull and the machinery and if it can be repaired. :(

Ave,
congrats on #800. I'll send you a list with the motels soon, but will keep it to 3 or 4.
Ave & Mary,
they changed a lot on Anja's ward: The adjacent ward has been closed, but Anja's ward had to take over 8 beds and some personnel. Now they have to do the vacation schedule again and we hope that there aren't any changes for her. But we should know by next wednesday after their team-meeting. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

We've seen Cold Mountain. I thought it was pretty good but not sure about kids liking it as it's a little violent. Not violence that isn't necessary but because of the civil war there are battle scenes and a couple of scenes at home that aren't blood free so to speak. The romance part is nice though.

Tooth -- went to the dentist yesterday morning and am due there again this morning at 8am. I have a large filling in the tooth and the dentist thinks that the tooth is cracked so depending on whether it is or not I'll have to have it out or I can finish the root canal -- either way I have to go to a dental surgeon so the saga won't be over yet and the cost won't be done with either. I have dental coverage but it doesn't cover everything and I could spend a vacation cost on the one tooth. Not sure yet what I'm going to do but frankly would rather go to WDW than spend the $ on my tooth. Not happy about it at the moment.

Take care everyone -- have to get ready to go find out how much $ this is going to cost.

Fiona

Hi Guys, This is Kim here...

I am going to be positive :goodvibes that we are able to make the cruise in October so I am ready to start a new project.

What I need are photo's of DCL cast members in uniform. The photos can be of any and every one in a DCL uniform. The cast members at the terminal also. If any of you have photos showing cast members can I please get a copy, e-mail would be fine if your photos are digital. If not paper photos are just as good...

Thanks, Kim

P.S. any more info about a get together in DC in early April ??

Hi Kim - not sure if we took any photos of cast members but I'll look.

Update on tooth -- it's leaving tomorrow. Huge crack in it all the way through and down to the pulp so there's nothing else that can be done.

Bad news is that I won't be able to drive for 24 hours afterwards and DS has to be at the amouries 8am Sat morning so Jim will have to get up and drive him. Jim's thrilled to bits about that.

Weather -- high today is going to be a balmy -21C but with the windchill will feel like -33C. Since I've been out already I can attest that it's darn cold out.

Off to work now since I won't be there tomorrow.

Take care everyone and stay warm.

Fiona

It's a surprise. If it works you will see it on the :boat: . If we are not able to come :worried: then I will send it with you two....

Bye, Kim

It was -13 without any wind when I left our house and it is expected to get to -35/ -40 with the wind chill tonight and an hour north of us about -50 with the wind chill. Brrrrrrrrrrrr

Fiona .... :earseek: on your tooth ... take care and stay out of the cold afterwards.

Kim ... thought, try the Castaway Club for crew pictures ... that is if it dosen't matter who the crew member is. Also didn't B ernie have some pictures done with crew? I'll try and look for some I may have too. How you guys doing?

Cold as he:earseek: :earseek: here. The heck with "Calgon take
me away" ... DCL TAKE ME AWAY!

I'm going to try something to get out the Radisson update ... let me know if you guys get it.

Kim, I just checked out our photos, not a single cast member unless you want the ones dressed up like Mikey or Minnie. I heard on the radio this morning that you guys would be getting some -40 degree weather. BRRRRRR!
Sending some FL sunshine:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
Later, Ave'

Got the Radisson info...THANKS!

Kim, I tink I have some pics of the servers. I will look this weekend and send them to you.

Kim - I only have one pic of one of our servers, but she's with Haley. I don't think you'll want that one, but if you do, let me know.

BTW - Keep warm. I heard it's brutal where you are. At least here, the wind chill is only -30 below.

Renee'

Hi Everyone,

Well we're not staying at the Radisson anymore. I decided to try the new Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort that's near there. It looks gorgeous. I wound up getting a 1 bedroom studio that sleeps 4 (1 king bed and 1 pull-out queen sofa bed) for $100. That plus the 217' water slide and lazy river, and I was hooked.

Guess we'll have to meet up in the terminal or on the ship.

Renee'

Renee:
That sounds like a good deal, but how do you plan to get to the port. I'm pretty sure we'll be staying at the Hyatt MCO in October, but we're also doing the cruise in Aug with my kids and I'm thinking that they would enjoy the pool where you're staying.

We're renting a car from Budget at MCO. My hubby will drop me and my daughter off at the Port, drive to Budget to drop off the car and take their shuttle to the Port. In the meantime, I can get us checked in and be waiting in line to get on the ship when he gets there.

We did this last year, and it was very easy to do. The only difference is we stayed in Orlando, because we went to MNSSHP the night before the cruise.

Renee:
So do you check in at the port without your hubby? Who holds on to his documents...and if you hold them, is there a problem with security? We will have our own car because we're driving down. Last year we planned to park it at the Radisson and take their shuttle. As it happened, they had no room in the van for all of us until close to noon. We thought we could do the DH drop-everybody-off thingy, but at the last minute we said screw it and paid the $70 to park at the port. Needless to say, it would have purchased alot of conch coolers!

Nope haven't heard from Don or Colleen in a while. Last time, Don said Colleen was sick, but that was it.

jeanneg - I will hold my hubby's docs and passport and turn them in when I turn in mine and Haley's. My hubby just has to make sure he has a picture ID in case anyone asks him for ID. That's all we did. Did anyone else have any problems doing this?
