I'm scared. I'm going into Grade 10, and I personally think the summer is too short. I told my mom that and she told me that if I want a future than I need to go to school. I don't want to do the 2.5 hours of homework for Science, NOR do I want to do Math,Science and History.

i start school tomarrow. I will be a senior (12th grade) and I can't wait. But I am kinda scared since I graduate this year and go to college next year. well have a fun rest of the summer vacation you have left.

I don't start school for 2 weeks today! I'm going into 10th too and im not really scared except for getting lost because we are going in to a new high school. But really then everybody will be getting lost so it won't be just frosh. But we start school at 7:30.

My school also starts a week from now. But I have orientation on Thurs. I am somewhat excited, but in other ways not.

Week from tomorrow.
This year can rock like rocks, or it can sink like a boulder.

Gosh, yall are lucky.
i've already started school. this is the 3rd week for me. i've already had a buttload of quizzes and a few tests -- stupid college-prep school and it's quizzes. I'm in grade 10 and i have 2 science courses... with the same teacher, who by the way, has issues keeping me interested. But it's been fun so far (besides the work)
 so don't worry

School is difficult and often a pain, but it's nothing you can't handle. Teachers are there for you if you need help, and there are always people here who will talk to you if you need it :grouphug:

School, as is life, is all about what you make of it. You can commit to doing your homework and getting it done and chances are, you will be wildly successful, or you can bump along, tripping with grades and getting farther and farther behind. I made this mistake a few times and this year will be a total 180. With the small exception, the majority of teachers will help you out if your having problems and are usually pretty cool people. If your having trouble with the work, just let them know....

I'm starting next week Wed (the 6th) and will also be a sophomore (grade 10) and I'm not totally dreding it. I do, however, agree that the summer was way too short! My only fear is the major overload with a full schedule; advanced math, science, English, and Spanish; the SAT prep in English this year; and the after school stuff. I know that I won't die from it so it's fine! I'd like to extend a personal invite for you to come to us with problems (homework, people, etc.) once you start! We're (well, I know I am) always happy to help!

Same. I start school today. In fact, I have to leave for it in about a half and hour...arg. At least I'll be a senior and that's pretty cool.

I'm going to pray for snow days now 'cause it won't matter to me lol. I still get out sometime in May! hehe.

Time to pick on the Freshman! (jk lol.)

School started August 14th for us. I'm officially a freshman! WOOT!! Anyways, the important thing right now is that we don't have school today because of Hurricane Ernesto. Hope it won't do any damage, like Wilma did!! :sad2:

I dont like that the hurricane comes because then it means NO power, NO electricity, NO computer, NO telephone, NO NOTHING!! Plus, if the hurricane is really bad then it means double the time to pick up things and get them back to normal!

We only miss school if:
There's lots of snow, which makes it hard for people to get to the school.
The snow has been cleared, but it's too icey for people to get to the school.
The power is out from a storm.
If it's actually snowing the day of school.
There's a HUGE threat of a storm.

Last winter, we missed one day of school. Why? Because we were supposed to have a huge storm. Guess what? The storm never happened.
We usually miss 15 days of school due to storms.
