1 time going DVC

In Setp it is going to be our 1st time going as DVC members and I am so excited! we are going to be at AKV and I hope I can get great info on it from those that have been. I would love to know about what they have going on in the evenings.
We are not going to any parks just going up for my b-day weekend (i'll be 39 years young). We'll be going to MNSSHP. We'll be up from Thrusday 22 to Sunday 25.
We are looking into doing the DP with the TS,QS and S b/c we going to be in a studio. I also don't want to have to cook on my b-day weekend LOL.
My family wants to go to MICKEY's backyard bbq I know that would be 2 TS but how do I make my AR for it we have yet to pay for the DP so I am thinking I'll have to pay for that 1st then make my AR for the Mickey's bbq.

You can make your ADRs anytime, but for the reserved things like the BBQ, you will have to use a credit card if you haven't yet done the dining plan.

AKV has lots of little "programs" and things to do around the resort. There is a story time at the fire pit at Jambo, and night vision glasses with docents from Africa who tell about the animals and their homeland. There are also little presentations in the "library" area at Jambo with the exchange people from Africa. I don't know if they have these same things at Kidani, but you can always walk over to Jambo to enjoy them if they don't. We like the view from the library at Kidani. It's near the wooden walkway that goes out to the savanna and the animal viewing is spectacular there.

thank you...my dd's are 13 year and 3 years old and so it is hard to get each of them happy at the same time LOL but they can not stop talking about going to AKV and be able to see the animals we are going to be in a savanna view

we enjoyed the evenings over in Kidani at the arcade, the amazing restaurants, the movie by the pool..........great night life there! Enjoy

Are you going to be at Kidani or Jambo? I'll be checking in to Jambo on the 23 or 24th (haven't gotten airfare yet). At night they have movies at the Kidani pool-you can go regardless of which one you're at. Unfortunately, they don't announce the particular movie until that afternoon, and when I went, they changed the movie between when they announced it and when I showed up. But it was still lots of fun.

Try "Zebra Domes" -- you can get them with a snack credit if you like them (I took the bus to the Lodge from the Park my last trip just to have some!).

Take a pair of binoculars -- you will be able to see animals from your balcony without them, but it will be fun to see some further away, and more details.

Be sure to look for hidden Mickeys.

If you're over at Kidani, make sure you go out to the firepit at night. It's just off the lobby. The animals are out at night and it's a blast to sit out there. Very calm and peaceful.

This sounds like something fun to do. I'm also going the end of September, I'll be solo at Jambo, and I just want to chill at the resort. Will I get info on the exact time when I check in?
