We leave in a WEEK!!!

We only want to splurge on one dinner, based on food AND ambiance would you pick Steakhouse 55 or Blue Bayou? OR an entirely different place?

I asked my DH if sharing a dinner and going to both was an option and he doesn't want to share food...

I would go with BB but I've never done Steakhouse 55 so I really can't honestly compare. I just love the BB, the food, the ambience, it's so neat!

I have done both and give a slight edge to BB because of the atmosphere. I have always had great food at SH55.

What type of food do you like? Meat and potato's, fancy new adventurous foods? Do you like wine?

For a splurge I would go with Napa Rose but I love wine, I also enjoyed Yambuki. But since I have never been to Steakhouse 55 and I don't eat eat, I would go with BB personally.

BB for the ambiance IF you can get near the water. But the food left a lot to be desired for the price. I had to get three different steaks brought before they got it right for my 40th anniversary.

Thank you all for your input! I just called and had NO trouble getting a BB PS for just about anytime I wanted it. (We'll be there in a week!)
This confirmed my suspicions that we'll be there during a very slow time.

The food at Steakhouse 55 is awesome! I would go there for dinner, then hit BB for dessert! That way you'll have the best of both worlds!

Personally I love the Blue Bayou, but Ive also never been to Steakhouse 55. The Blue Bayou is only cool though if you make sure to tell the cast member at the desk you are willing to wait for a table by the water, other wise the light and noise from outside sorta ruins the effect.

WHAT A GREAT IDEA!! I'm calling right now to make both PS "reservations"
We can go to Fantasmic in between!!

General consensus is that Steakhouse 55 has the better food, but BB has the better atmosphere.

Steakhouse 55 has better food and service than the BB. I have been highly unimpressed with the last experience we had there - we were made to feel like we shouldn't have toddlers in their restaurant (something we never had a problem with at the Napa) - and the two girls were not acting badly - just giggling a little louder occasionally.

An additional thought for a fabulous meal for the same price range - go to the Napa Rose.

At the BB, they will not guarantee you a waterside seat and will often seat you at a non-waterside seat, even if they are empty, reiterating that they don't take requests. Also, make sure you don't tell them ahead of time that you are only there for dessert. You will almost guarantee yourself a worst serving experience. They don't make big tips off just dessert....

I agree with not telling them you're only there for dessert. But I disagree about them not wanting to seat people on the water. We get waterside every time we ask for it. :) But we have had hostesses give us attitude when we've adamantly said we would wait for waterside. :)

In my opinion, Blue Bayou is hit and miss (but great atmosphere), Steakhouse 55 is good, but Napa Rose is fantastic.

I'd pick Steakhouse 55. I enjoyed the food better than at BB (the short ribs at BB are great though) The BB always feels like you are kind of stuffed together..tables very close. Steakhous 55 was wonderful. Private feeling, clean lines, attentive staff and if you like steak it is excellent. I did not like Npa Rose at all.. Maybe becauseI'm not a fish/lamb/duck kind of person.

We have also gotten waterside for the 6 of us everytime except when we were the 11 years ago. We just showed up at the wrong time.
