wishing i lived in the castle!!

i will give alittle back ground info about us 1st. ME (mom 33) love all things disney.... twin A 5yrs old...loves mickey and all things disney..twin B 5yrs old ..loves all things disney...(and boys..peter pan, wilber robinson and her #1 character mulan)
our travel dates at feb 2nd-9th (monday-monday) staying at POP Century (the 1st time staying there..more about that later)
we had nonstop flights from columbus ohio to orlando at 6:40 am landing at 9:05am...sweet...well i decided to stay the night next door to the airport and take part in the parknfly. so for 69 bucks i stayed the night b4 and they shuttled us to the airport at 5am.. it was nice the twins got to swim the night b4 and we didnt have to drive alittle over an hour at the crack of dawn.
thanks to the DIS board i made matching tie dye mickey shirts for all of us to wear. we got lots of comments on them at the airport and thru out the 1st day.
Day 1..well after an uneventful flight..and getting to orlando 15 mins early. we make our way to the magical express bus area... (we used this service april of 2007 and the difference from then and now was out of this world) i guess coming early in the morning makes all the difference too. as we get to the check in area.....there was NO ONE there..i lied there was one man besides us checking in. after that speedy checkin we walk toward the bus lines again us 3 and the man alone was getting on the pop bus! i thought omg are we goin to have to wait here until this things fills up...o lord please say that isnt the case. and it wasnt. so the girls and i get in the front row so we can see the big disney sign and everything.
well the weather was warm to us. mid 70s but rain on and off. we arrived at pop in a timely manner and got off the bus and started the REAL checkin.
well the line to check in was alittle long but moved nicely...the girls went straight to the kids area to watch cartoons well i waited. well i had asked for a ground floor room and was grated that...nice when u have a double wide stroller and i am a smoker. (dont flame me i know its a bad habit)
room was ready and it was in building 5 room 5159..great location for us. even at 1030am the room was ready so we went to drop off carryons and put some shorts on...and have the fridge brought to us that we are using (thanks to a great fridge swap here on DIS) well fridge came plugged it in, put some shorts on and we had to go hit MAGIC KINGDOM. nothing to us means more than seeing that castle for the 1st time.
well after making straight past the crowd that was lining main street to see the steelers parade since they won the super bowl the night b4. we hit toontown to see tinker bell and friends..well the line was long but they are game to wait for them
seen a few more characters in tommorrowland, rode a few rides too. we rode stitches great escape...just to warn some parents. that was cute ride/show but twin A was scared out of her mind. LOVED buzz lightyears ride..i think we rode that 20 times during our trip.
after a few hrs...we (well i decided) it was time to eat...as we are making our way to crystal palace...let me tell ya that the rain clouds opened and i mean opened up big time....it was a down pour. i had some ponchos and they didnt even help. we didnt have a ressie for crystal palace but after maybe a 10-15 min wait we got seated. it was nice just to get out of the rain. i covered the stroller with a poncho but the rain came down so hard that it made a puddle on it that i tried so hard not to have spill on to the seats but of course it spilled on it anyway...o well thats life.
well back to crystal palace.. it was nice the food was good and the characters GREAT. my kids didnt know that the characters were there so a good surprise for sure
after we ate...the rain wasnt letting up so we decided to head back to pop to dry off and unpack some and see if the rain lets up so we can come back later that night. ( mind you that it was only 3pm when we left to head back to the hotel) well after getting back to the room our luggage was there so i being the mother started gettin things in order. the girls dried off and watched a little tv. i looked outside and it seemed to by getting better outside. clouds seemed to be parting and not looking bad. it was around 5pm or so, so i thought if we are goin back to MK then now is as good as time as any. i had put some pants on the girls and a dry sweatshirt for later that night. the stroller was to wet so we didnt take it back with us...
we get on the bus head to MK and not a rain drop...well the second our feet get off the bus.....pouring rain. well as most of u know that u have to walk a little bit to get inside MK...we didnt walk ..we ran. again here we are wet to the bone and loving it. i stuffed the sweat shirts up my jacket to try and keep something on my children dry for later that night. not only did i look like dolly parton but between the puddles..i mean lakes that formed on the sidewalk area...mine and the girls feet got super wet. thank god for crocs. we took off the socks and air dried the feet. we walked thru the stores stayin out the rain... well no surprise that spectro magic was cancelled. no biggie i guess.
so we went back to toontown to see some princesses. the line for fairys was still long but there was no line for the princesses...i mean no line
i kid u not that my kids spent at least 30mins with them and no one showed up after us. they played, danced, sung songs with my girls...it brought tears to my eyes.
after that great time ..it was getting close to the time for the fireworks..and low and behold the rain stopped.
i had heard of seeing tinker bell fly thru the sky at the beginning of Wishes. so i found a great spot where she would fly right over us, if she did fly that night. and sure enough she did..my kids freaked out!! they couldnt believe there eyes. it was hard to get a pic of it because its so high and she moves so fast. but its something i am sure they wont soon forget.

after the fireworks we made our way back to pop to have a good nights sleep and to get ready to go to HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS for the rope drop in the morning to get fast passes for toy story.

Your kids are super cute! We also saw Tink fly for the first time! I'm crazy jealous of you seeing Fairy Godmother. I would love to see her w/o having to eat at Cindy's.
