I will be one point short to complete my reservation at the 11 month mark. I will be unable to borrow that point.

I assume I am just out of luck, however, I wanted to ask if I am missing something?

Are you out of points in the next UY? If you have points in the next UY, you can borrow when making a reservation at the 11 month mark.

If you are 1 short after you borrowed to the max to make the reservation , you are out of luck UNLESS:

1. You can find some kind soul to transfer you 1 point - preferably one who owns at your home resort,
OR
2. Wait until the 7 month window to reserve either the first night or last night (which ever you think more likely to be available).

If you go with option #2, you'd have to call MS to purchase and use OTU points. You'd also have to call if you managed to get a transfer of non-home resort points to use at 7 months.

If you can get a transfer of the same use year and home resort, the point will show in your online account and you could reserve online at 11 months. If it's a different use year, you'd have to call MS to use it, but you could still reserve during the home resort priority period..

Good luck!

DVC use to let you buy up to 24 points for $15 per point one time per use year. Try calling them in the morning to make your reservation.

Yes, they do, but those 1 time use points can only be used for reservations 7 months out.

You can only transfer points in OR out your account once per use year. Add the bit of hassle of managing the transaction and it won't be easy to find someone willing to transfer just one point. You may try to offer a premium for that one single point or maybe transfer just a few more to make it ore likely to happen.
Some of the brokers also manage points transfer, try to enquiry them what would be the minimum, but it would probably be much higher. Your best bet is the rent board here on the DIS

That's a good point! Offer someone extra $ or buy a few more points to make the transfer happen, if you really want or need that 11 month advantage.
