I am going in November without the rest of the family. I am staying with one of my girl friends in her one-bedroom DVC villa in Bay Lake Towers. I have to either get the same dining plan she has (deluxe) or have no dining plan at all. If I have no dining plan, would I be able to say eat at the bar in the restaurants that have them without a reservation (like Citricos, Fort Wilderness, The Wave, etc.)? I am willing to make dining reservations, but I would rather just say "can I sit at the bar and eat?" since I will be alone.
Also, I'd rather pay oop for food because the deluxe will be WAY too much food for me. I rarely eat breakfast, and I graze for most of the day right now. I could never eat $109 worth of food a day by myself.
I would appreciate opinions on how people handle single person dining with and without a dining plan.
Thanks.

You can eat with your friend. Just tell the server who had ddp and who doesn't when you order. If you don't want to eat with her at times, I would think you could ask to be seated at the bar, but if it is a terribly busy time (or free dining), it may be better to make an ADR.
