Friends,

We have our two SSR contracts totalling 180 points, purchased directly from DVC "back in the day" when the price for points at a new resort were half of what they are today.

I often see smaller contracts on the resale market and I'm tempted to give them further consideration, but rarely do I see our particular Use Year available.

How many of you own multiple contracts with different use years? Do you find it difficult to keep track of your points? Any negative experiences?

I know having the same UY is probably the ideal situation, but if our UY never comes available then perhaps another one might be possible for us.

with thanks,

Neil

We have three membership #s with 3 Use Years and 2 different resorts. Managing the contracts have never been a problem and we've never needed to transfer the points between contracts to make reservations (we just have MS link the reservations together into a seamless reservation with no need to move rooms).

The improvements made to the Member website to assist in tracking points has really simplified tracking the points and there are some good programs available to track those too. Even a checking software like Quicken does a great job.

Enjoy! :)

Doc is an expert, I'm not.

It can be done but for me the more complicated something is the greater the chance for problems or mistakes. All it takes is one and you will be kicking yourself, especially if you could have waited for the same UY.

Ya, we have a blt and a akv both with the same uy and we want to pick up a third contract from either bw okw vwl. The problem is the uy. They are not the same and when we do find a same uy the prices are way over other ones.
Sucks man.

I have one larger OKW contract and one medium VWL with the same UY. I have a small OKW with a different UY. Most of the time I will just transfer the points from the smaller OKW to the larger contract. But sometimes I need to borrow points from the smaller contract's next year. And you cannot borrow transferred points. And you can't transfer banked or borrowed points. So I have to leave them in the smaller contract, not transfer points and make a few nights with that smaller contract and ask for the longer stay to be linked to the shorter stay.
