ok girls... need your help...

I got a dress back in December that was the 1st and only dress I ever tried on. It fit like a glove and was perfect. But felt kinda heavy on.

Here is the link: http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=dion&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=8&style=341

But after living here in Florida for 7mths now. And knowing the hottest weather is going to be the mth of my wedding in august. I'm debating on getting a 2nd dress from David's Bridal something simple for 1/2 of the reception and dessert party.

Has anyone else done this or thought about it?:confused3

The dress is beautiful! I am not doing 2 wedding dresses, but I am changing into another dress, or something- I've bought things but cant decide - for our dessert party! Especially since we have a few hours inbetween our reception and dp! I am torn because of the pictures at the dp but i think I will be more comfortable and DF does not want to put his tux back on!

Your gown is gorgeous, Maggie Sottero always has beautiful gowns,

My dress in fact is heavy as well but I am not changing it b/c I want to enjoy it the whole night

Hey Bouncy Bounce :)

Gorgeous dress...

But Orlando is piping hot and steamy in August. You don't really have to worry about the WP as much because it'll be air-conditioned, but for the reception and dessert party... Not to be harsh or negative, but you'll have this beautiful but heavy dress on, and if you're very sweaty and hot underneath, you'll end up being really uncomfortable with all that fabric on you. Or worse yet, you might get a sweat rash or prickly heat or something similar--and that could easily ruin your good cheer on your special day.

Excitement alone might make you sweat more on your day, plus after the ceremony, if you go outside for a little bit because you want outdoor pictures, you'll be dealing with some heat there too. So if you can find a secondary dress that's very light and thin, and within your budget, I would definitely recommend you to take it, because by the time the reception starts, you'll be pretty warm.

Plus, hey, changing is kinda glamorous! :bride:

That's my 2 cents! Good luck, and tell us what you choose!

If I could have afforded two dresses, I TOTALLY woulda done this. Not because my dress wasn't comfortable (it was actually really comfy) but because I wanted two different looks.

Here's my dress and then the dress I would have changed into...

It's up to you! I know that when I go to my fitting's I seat to death underneath it lol..but that was when they had me try it on with the crinoline underneath,I'm not wearing one thank God so it's not that bad.

I personally would want to wear my dress all day but seriously if you want to go for it,i don't blame you, those heavy dresses get hot.
