1 month to go and not looking forward to it :(

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Disney so much and it is always my 1st and only place that I want to go when my dh mentions the word "vacation". The last time we were there was 2005 (w/out dh...he had to work). The kids couldn't wait to take Daddy back to do Test Track. We found out early this year that we were getting a tax refund and my dh said to look into Disney in December. Well, the next day the free dining plan came out and we found out we could save $1000 if we went end of August and he said book it. I did and now he is starting the "we really don't have the $$ for this, let's agree this is the LAST vacation until we are completely out of debt". I agree that our debt is more important than vacations BUT the trip is bought and paid for....AND we got a free upgrade to OKW AND we aren't paying for any food while we are there. I am so afraid he will ruin our trip and not have a good time thinking about money. Please say a prayer for our family so we can enjoy the Happiest Place on Earth for the "last" time

For all it's worth, here is my "two cents"...I am usually the one in our family who worries over money. Yet when I get to Disney, all my worries pretty much fly out the window! Maybe you DH will feel this way once you arrive?? And for the part about not vacationing until you are "completely out of debt"...who is ever completely out of debt? I do hope you can all enjoy the magic of Disney.

I understand what you are going through. Me and my fiance have a bit of debt. I am done with school and he is almost done so we will have loans. We also have some credit card debt. We are planning on going in late 2008/early 2009. And he has already told me that will be the last trip we take until we have all of our loans etc. paid off and then we can stay deluxe. He is pouting big time because I am trying to save money on this trip and stay at POP. He didn't like ASMO last time we went so hopefully this will be better.

I bet though that once you guys get there your DH will lighten up and feel the magic. I know mine will.

Don't worry about your next vacation and the $. This trip is paid for and you got 2 huge perks (Free dining and OKW). You are soooooo lucky. Once you get there you will have a great time. It's just hard now with your DH singing "the money blues". Ignore, move forward, and have a magical vacation.

I understand how you feel. I am excited about our trip, but I still worry about how I am going to come up with the money. My trip is 2 months away and I still have 3 plane tickets, 3 park passes and the rest of the hotel (we're doing room only 4 nights at Wilderness Lodge) so I fret every night!

Take a deep breath! I certainly hope its not your final vacation until you get out of debt, because you never know when emergencys come up (me and my boyfriend's cars each broke down within a week of each other in Feb, and cost us about $1,000 each to fix!) Perhaps if you sat down and budgeted household expenses, bills, and loan payments,,,,and then budget out money for souveniers he'll feel a bit more in control of the financial situation and not worry so much!
