Let the countdown begin! My first ever trip to DL will begin exactly one month from today! I have started getting stuff together for the trip, and making a list of things we still need.... I am so excited!

:goodvibes Congrats!!! The next month is going to fly by with all your planning and giddiness! For the next 2 and a half weeks your gonna be buzzing!!! Then when you get to the 10 day mark thats when the loud squeeling really happens  Then the when your down to about 3 more days the happy screaming and shaking convulsions start. :rotfl: Then before you know it, your skipping down Main Street like you own the entire park.

Congrats! I also left June 13 last year.

I'm leaving June 1 this time cuz i cant wait no longaaaa hahaha

:banan:

need a packing idea...last year I had the tip passed on through DIS...I thought it was a crazy idea but thought what did I have to lose so I tried it. OMG it was the best idea ever! Buy a cheap wall/door shoe rack. It hangs on the back of a bathroom door or closet. You can use it to organize little things (make up, toiletries, etc...) It was nice to have a clear sink area to get ready. Plus we put med's in the top of it and my kids couldn't get into it. I just love passing the idea on since it helped me so much! I go next month and already have mine bought and ready to go. I bring my toiletries and then leave them behind (buy cheap ones) and then I have room for the treats we bring back!

Actually that is a brilliant idea!!! I saw those shoe racks at the dollar store last week for $1.00 :thumbsup2 I am definitely going to try this.

That is a great idea! Especially since I can get them at the dollar tree, and since there are 4 women going, it could come in handy with keeping our bathroom counters clear...

aahhh have such a fun time!

Make lots of happy memories!

We are a UK family coing out for 2nd ever trip to DL having had great time 2 years ago.

Now DD9 and DD7 are joined by DD1 !

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel last time and want to stay at GC.

1. Whats the standard room view like and is there a better option worth paying for (Pool / park view etc) -- any floors/rooms to "avoid"

2. We have just worked out its stupid to stay 6 nights as its a fortune cost up on the 5 for 3 offer - so does anyone know if its worth calling for a good sensible added rate for the 6th night or a good place to stay on our first night (we would arrive from long journey about 8-9pm so really just a place to crash and transfer the next day)

3. And lastly ... what rides can a 1-year old get on? I guess we mainly have to play the swapping game but this aspect is going to be all new to us and hopefully we will still enjoy it!

Thanks in advance

And thanks Hydoguy for all your advice 2 years ago !!!

Even a better idea...I get my coloring books, etc...for the plane ride at the dollar store. I don't know why I didn't think to check there. I could buy 2 for $1.00 each and hang one on each side of the door to be sure I have enough space...I'll have to remember that for the next trip.

How about going through priceline to get a night? I use them and usually do name your own price. It allows me to pick a "star rate" and name a price. I usually pick a 3 star and start asking at $40 usually end up between 40-65 plus tax. I also go through big crumbs before and get a little more back that way.
Rides...I will be there in apx 1 month with a 2 yr old. I will take him on Peter Pan for SURE! Probably Winnie the Pooh and not sure what else. I'm not the best planner for DL but love WDW. I'm sure I'll have a different opinion after I make my trip and I'll love DL too!

Sure why not!!! I love dollar stores for all sorts of things such as coloring books and stuff. I cant really justify going to Target or any grocery store and purchasing the same coloring book or even similar ones you can get for 1/4 of the price.

Me Too!!!
We leave on June 13th 6AM bright and early.
We're driving this time and the kids are planning what to bring in the car.. the apple doesn;t fall too far from the tree:love:

We are driving also- Where are you driving from? Akso, for those who are dollar tree adicts- last week at our local ollar tree they had disney wash cloths that are small and hard until you put them in water, then they expand- they had little mermaid, pooh, and the best of all- black mickey mouse head shaped ones! I stocked up on them to take for our trip- one for each person going! went and bought a new camera last night too, since the old one is dying...started putting Ds's nicer shorts and summer shirts in his travel bag too, so he won't ruine them before it is time to go..

We live in the SF Bay Area. We're staying at the Del Sol Inn, have heard mixed reviews- hope it's decent, it's right by the crosswalk to the entrance so we'll just deal.
Where are you staying?

We'll stop half way in Coalinga for breakfast and potty breaks and switch drivers.
I'm taking my kids, DS5 and DS7. My friend is bringing her 2 kids DS10 and DD13.
I'm hoping they will sleep most of the way, I'll have to say no more DVDs after breakfast, just go to sleep. My 5 yr old won't sleep if the DVD player is on.

I used to drive down as a twenty-something but I usually fell asleep on the way, friend or BF drove. So I've never actually done the driving before.

We are staying at the Ramada Inn Maingate. I went through Coalinga once, on our way to Lake Havasu. I remember taking pics of the big cattle feedlot there, as we went by it. We have 3 drivers, so it will be an easy run, plus we are spending a night in Modesto on our ay down from Oregon- so that will break it up some too... I am so excited- it is my first trip ever to DL.:cool1:

Don't stop in Coalinga, stop in Lost Hills, it's much better and gas prices are very good in LH. We always stop there. We usually get gas at Love's and we eat at Denny's. Love's gas was $2.39 a gallon last time we went thru (see siggie line for dates) and Denny's prices are not inflated either. I drive that far and then DBF takes over, he usually drives us all the way home tho.

ETA or stop in Santa Nella and go to Anderson's Pea Soup, that's a good place to eat!
