Darn. I had to check in while I'm at work and I was 1 minute past my flight time and got group B. Oh well. I will deal. Maybe I will be lucky and be able to get a window. I don't think I can count on an aisle seat with a group B. This is my first time on SW. I will find out tomorrow how it works.

As long as you don't have alot of pre-boards and you are in the first group of B's you should be fine. :goodvibes

I'll see you in a week!

Wow! That is amazing. I'll bet most of the passengers were sitting in front of their computer and hitting the refresh button constantly to try and get Group A.

Wow, I don't know anyone who would do that! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

When I flew SW a couple weeks ago, the guy behind me in the line-up got his A group at the Desk. The person behind him got hers online.

What does that tell you? Weird, huh? :confused3

I'd be more concerned about the flight back...leaving MCO, just about 1/2 the plane are preboards.

Since I am taking such a late flight home, and on a Monday, I am hoping that the kid ratio will be a little lower. I am hoping to check in via guest relations in Epcot on Sunday night. Hopefully the International Gateway GR has the ablility to do airline check in.

Last time I flew Southwest we were in Group B on the return flight and still had our pick of seats and got 3 seats for the 2 of us. All of the Southwest flights I've been on in the last year have been fairly light crowds. Maybe you'll luck out! :wizard:

Don't forget that people with a connection get to check in before you. So they get to check in from their first flight time.

Do not worry about get a good seat. If you are in the front of B there will be no problem. I have not found a lot of preboarders in Pittsburgh usually.

don;t forget One through I believe 15 is business class so if there aren't any business class sw really starts at A16 so if you are in the begining of "B" you should be fine as long as you don't have too many pre-boarders

Hopefully those of you who have flown SW in the past can tell me this. We leave Saturday morning and are flying with our 4 yo DS. SW policy is that adults with kids 4 and under get to board between the A and B groups. We should still be able to get 3 seats together then, right? Our flight is the first one out at 7:05AM, so there won't be any (or many) connecting flights I wouldn't think.

You should be fine. A group usually goes to 60 people and then B starts.

Average plane is what, 35 rows x 6 seats, so the math is in your favor.

I forgot to add - if you are in a location where you can also board from the back at the same time, you can head straight for the back and no one is there.

We can do that here in Burbank and it's a Godsend!

I have never seen that. That would be a really cool option.

Spaddy, I have never seen that here in Pittsburgh. Our airport isn't set up for that. We do have the advantage with SW that they are at the very beginning of the concourse. No more hiking the entire length of one of those concourses to get to your plane. I hated that part of USAIR. My planes were ALWAYS at gate 30 something.

They didn't have that when we lived in Albuquerque either. That is a big Southwest city.

I do not like flying USAir. I was so happy when Southwest came to Pittsburgh. We just flew down to Orlando in November and it was very stress free.

The nice thing about boarding after the families is you can pick who you sit by. (This is the advantage of Southwest in general) I have a 4 year old, but often sit in the back.

You can also check in from your cell phone. Who is your provider?

I have Verizon. I wasn't sure how to do that. I would like to since I plan on being in Epcot at the 24 hour point.

It's pretty easy. Do you ever use the internet on your phone? If you have a new plan they just charge you by the kb. If not, there is an option when you go to the mobile web to get 24 hours for $1.99.

You just go to mobile.southwest.com. Online check in will be one of the options.

I suggest going on a while before your check in time. You can fill in your confirmation number and first and last name. It will give you an error that it is not 24 hours before your scheduled check in time. But you can then autofill the information when the time comes.

I hope this made sense.

I flew Fri before Thanksgiving and the Sat night after (the live podcast night) I was ready at the minute to check in online, I got A27-28, my gf did it for me for the Sat flight, she was also there waiting for the clock to tuen, she got A29-30. I usually got lower #'s in the past:confused3
