Yes, I know they probably aren't the healthiest lunch out there, but, for an occasional snack or lunch for camp, these are a great deal! And only $1! I know I"ll be stocking up on them this week!

Thanks for the heads up. I've never purchased before, though my kids have asked a number of times. I was just trying to figure out what might be some convenient in-van meals for our drive to WDW. These will fit the bill perfectly. And since it's vacation, I write off SOME of the healthiness I usually require.:upsidedow

The heck with kids - I like lunchables for lunch. Just the ones that are plain ham or turkey with cheese and crackers. I'll have to check the expiration dates when I do my stop at Target tomorrow and stock up for work lunches.

I never buy these unless I have super coupons. You can make your own with a couple of baggies and a juice box. You could put a lot in there for $1.

These are just the little ones without a drink. Ham, cheese, crackers and two cookies. A nice lunch or snack for my six year old for a buck! I'm sure if you had coupons that it would be an even crazier deal!

Score! I know my oldest will not eat these, but he wants them cause the other kids have them... for $1.00 I'm all about the " I told you so" dance-- does this make me evil and cheap???

Make sure you check your expiration dates and while I know it's a nice treat, just take a quick look at the fat content and sodium content. For a dollar, you could make 10 home-made ones.

Sorry I know you all didn't want a lecture, but this is the only food I have a real problem with. Feel free to ignore me.;)

Yes I know I could make lots of them for $1. But then I would have to spend the time to make them! My time is worth something.

Part of the attraction is the convenience. Its like anything else, sometimes I'm just willing to pay a little extra to make my life easier. I fed Lunchables to my daughter when she was younger too and she has somehow survived.

If you use your Target Visa, they're only .95! ;)

Thanks for the heads up, OP. I'll have to make a quick run over there to get a few for my kids, who have camp this month. It'll be a nice treat! I usually refuse to buy them because they're expensive and processed, but occasionally it's no big deal. They'll be happy!

You're not alone :) My son has eaten them every day for the last 3 years for school. All the others eat lunch at school but b/c of his nut allergy we don't allow him to. Convenience is a huge plus when trying to get 5 kids up and out the door for school in the morning. He's managed to survive as well. I rarely use salt in anything and we eat fairly healthy for snacks and the other 2 meals of the day, so I'm not worried about it. I'll pay between $1-1.50, but no more for one. Through the summer they're a nice treat if we go to eat lunch with daddy at work.

We've used them on car trips before as well, much cheaper than a $3-5 kids meal! And convenient in that we don't have to stop to eat, they're not very messy for in the car.

And the fact that they are packaged to last so much longer than deli lunch meat is great, too. I can buy a bunch this week and since they are all individually sealed, they will last. Deli meat has to be tossed after about 5 days in the fridge. That ends up costing me more than Lunchables if I don't buy just the right amount. My DS really only likes ham which is salty no matter what, so I don't think a ham Lunchable is probably any worse than a ham sandwich.

FYI for all the other terrible moms like me that occasionally feed their kids lunchables- you can freeze them! Just toss them frozen into the lunchbox and it will thaw by lunchtime.

Thanks for posting this. I love the cheese pizza lunchables and bought 5 of them which will last me awhile. They are such a quick and easy thing to grab.

I now always carry my coupon book in my car. I have found that like the meat my Piggly Wiggly will put $1.50 or $1.00 OFF stickers on Lunchables when they are getting close to date. I like the Lunchable Sandwich ones and the ones with the 100 calorie packs inside. If I use a $1 off coupon in addition to the sticker sometimes, they are FREE. My favorite price.
