$1 home remodel!

My home needed a little remodel. So I goggled pallet furniture (pallets =free from stores) and there are tons! DH made these last night . Total cost was the nails!

FYI: not the best lighting

Heres the other. Every year we make a family photobook and I never know where to put them but I want them out because I LOVE photos...this is perfect!

I love them! We get pallets to burn, but I might start looking at them differently from now on.

If you white washed them they'd look pretty much like beach style shabby chic furniture I've seen.

The funny thing is SD 13 started googling stuff and found all this stuff she wants to do in her room with them...so shell be redoing her whole room (bed and all) for less than $50

We did. HEB, Lowes, and Home Depot you can not take from. Theres a building be built by my house and they throw them out so we can take those. Also craigslist there seems to ALWAYS be someone trying to give them away for free.

It's so funny this is being talked about right now. DH is currently building me a gardening shed out of pallets. He found some ideas online and is building me an 8x12 shed. So far he has the floor made out of pallets and plywood so the riding lawnmower can go in there if needed. He also has the walls up and the door opening spaced out. He is going to make rafters from pallets and then shingle it. He has siding to match our house that will go on over the pallet walls. When it is done, it will look like a cute shed and match the house. He gets lots of pallets at work and even burns them out here in the country when they have too many sitting around.

Lol. I have a friend who says that thanks to Pinterest, she can now decorate her entire house with pallets and toilet paper rolls.

I'm sure I'll end up building something out of one at some point.

DH built our raised bed gardens out of pallets. He says they will eventually rot but we're building up the soil with compost so when they're gone, we'll still have our garden. He also made me some flower boxes for the front covered garden. They are for annuals and I change them. We use them in our garage shed to raise things off the floor for better storage.

I think this is more "decorating" than "remodeling". I was wondering how someone could do any type of remodel for a buck, but now I see and it makes more sense.

look into what is on, in the pallets if you are using them in your homes. I know they pressure treat them, but some are also sprayed with pesticides and fungicides and in warehouses they could have held food/meat. Just wanted to bring this up if you haven't thought of it.
