We are planning our first trip to WDW for the last week of July. I'm in the process of sketching out our daily itinerary based on the Extra Magic Hours. What are some do-not-miss events that you can tell us about? The group is Mom (me!), age 43, DH (45) and DS (9). Thanks for all your suggestions!!!

IMO - don't miss
Mickey's Philharmagic (MK)
Wishes (nightime fireworks show) (MK)
Fantasmic (nightime show) (MGM)
Soarin (Epcot)
Lights, Motor, Action (stunt show) (MGM)
Peter Pan (because it's a classic ride) (MK)

AK - Kilimanjaro Safari, Kali River Rapids (if you don't mind getting SOAKED)
MGM - Fantasmic! is awesome!
Epcot - DH and kids loved Soarin' and their all time favorite is Test Track
MK - Wishes and SpectroMagic for shows. For a 9 y.o. ds, must do rides are probably the Mountains (Splash, Space, Big Thunder).

:) Michele

The new stunt show, Rock N Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror at MGM. Turtle Talk with Crush, Test Track, and Spaceship Earth at Epcot. The street entertainment in World Showcase--the Italian juggler is fun. The mountains at MK along with Mickey's Philarmagic.

AK-Festical of the Lion King (you cannot miss this-it is unbeliveable)
MGM--Fanstasmic!
MK Mickey's Philharmagic (best 3-d show of the 4 we saw)
MK-Wishes --see it at least once inside the park-there is something magical about it
Epcot--Illuminations (we saw it 2 times in our week there)

Tons of others but these are the ones you MUST see!!! ::MinnieMo

We just got back yesterday. My children are dd 8 (almost nine) and ds 6. Besides Fantasmic, Illuminations, Spectro, and Wishes which are must sees, these were their favorites:

EPCOT - Test Track, Soarin' , and Turtle Talk with Crush
MGM - Lights, Motors, Action and the Beauty and the Beast show (my son really liked this one :confused3 )
MK - Mickeys Philharmagic, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
AK - Kilimanjaro Safari, Kali River Rapids, Festival of the Lion King, and my kids both really liked Primeval Whirl

For the Magic Kingdom, make sure you don't miss the CLASSICS: Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain

For EPCOT: Do the new Soarin' (We did this in California - but haven't experienced it at WDW. It's amazing!) Test Track is a blast. Spend time in the World Showcase AT NIGHT. It's just beautiful then with the torches lit around the water, etc.

At Disney Studios: If your party is adventurous, Tower of Terror and Rockin' Rollercoaster are not to be missed. The Disney Animation attraction is very nice.

At Animal Kingdom: Spend some time looking at the Tree of Life. REALLY looking at the beautiful carvings of the animals. Don't miss It's Tough to be a Bug inside the Tree of Life too!

Ours are -Splash Mountain, TOT, and It's tough to be a bug.

Wow, this could be a long list, but I'll try to narrow it down!

MK: Spectromagic, Wishes, Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Philharmagic, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, Space Mountain

AK: Kilimanjaro Safaris, Kali River Rapids, It's Tough to Be a Bug, Festival of the Lion King (We also love Jammin' Jungle Parade although others don't)

Epcot: Test Track, Journey Into Imagination, Spaceship Earth, Illuminations, and a stroll (or two) through World Showcase, American Adventure

MGM: Rock-n-Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Great Movie Ride, One Man's Dream (for a glimpse into a real genius), and Fantasmic

There is so much more, but those would be our absolute favorites!

These are great. My plan is really shaping up! Can y'all tell me what time the parades and shows start? Wishes, Spectromagic, Illuminations, and Fantasmic?

DH (43) and I (44) got back from our week at WDW on May 22nd -- our favorites were:

Magic Kingdom: Wishes, Splash Mt., Big Thunder Mt. Railroad

Epcot: Soarin' (AWESOME!!!), Test Track

Disney/MGM: TOT, RnRC, Fantasmic!

Animal Kingdom: Kali River (you WILL get soaked!), Flights of Wonder, Kilimanjaro Safaris, It's Tough to Be a Bug...actually can't think of anything we DIDN'T like at this park! We especially enjoyed The Village Beatniks -- a percussion band that isn't listed on the Times Guide so I'm not sure how you'd find out when or where they play...we just happened on to them one day.
