hi! im just wondering, has anyone actually done both parks in one day?
when im going the crowd level should be pretty low, a wednesday during the low season.

i just want to know your experiences with the one day park hopper adventure.

Depends what you mean by both parks. You CAN do all the highlights in both in one day, but not both parks completely.Keep in mind..Low season means early park closing..Typically hours 9am -6p .Also a lot of the shows run on shorter schedules and often at the same times making it difficult to catch everything.

i just checked and it looks like a 9am opening and 7pm closing time

Still not enough time to do both parks entirely. If you look thru the attractions/shows and determine what you are most interested in ,we could help you come up with a game plan. But it is really hard to do both parks entirely in one day.Like I said, you can get a lot done depending on your wants and priorities.

hi! thanks!
what id really like to do is WWoHP, both parks, the Amazing Spiderman, the Incredible HUlk, Rip Ride Rockit and Despicable me. i've done all of the rides bfore except for the new harry potter world, despicable me and the amazing spiderman. im thinking i might just spend the whole day between the two harry potter parks.

For someone who has been there before, a 1 day "best of" is very possible. Looking at your list, you shouldn't have any trouble getting it done. You might want to add the new Transformers Ride to your list as well.

We get a lot of first time visitors asking the same question. For a first time visitor, they might be able to take a touring plan and hit most of the major attractions in a day. But to really get the feel for both parks it takes 2+ days.

For people familiar with Disney I compare it to trying to do DHS and DAK in one day. If you look at just rides, DHS at 5 rides and DAK has 7 for a total of 12. USF has 12 and IOA has 17 if you count Both sides of Dragon Challenge and Hogwarts Express separate rides. For a total of 29 rides. A Disney veteran could do the highlights DHS and DAK in a day (They couldn't explore all the trails in detail and participating in Jedi Academy would be a problem). But for a first time visitor to get the true feel of each park, more time is required.

This trip I'm focusing on Universal and only doing 1 day at Disney visiting all four parks. My next trip will be the reverse. Mainly Disney with 1 day at Universal. On my 1 Disney day adventure I'm hoping to get a lot time. But, I've had to be brutal at time with what stays and what goes. Likewise, when I only have 1 day at Universal, it will be a little bit easier but hard choices will need to be made.

okay cool! thank you! good luck with your two trips!!
its so hard for me because i love both parks but i can't possibly stay long enough that both parks deserve, but since i spent 5 days at US/IoA last time, I owe 5 days to WDW

We've never been to Universal and have one day planned the day after Presidents Day. I read somewhere that Tues is the least crowded at Universal. We are going to get the park hopper (or whatever it's called there) and our only priority is both Harry Potter parks and the train between the two. This is doable, right? Anything else is an added bonus. It's me and my 15 year old daughter.

from when i went, it is definitely doable if you only hit the harry potter parts! While youre in the WWoHP, it looks like you waits will average 20-40 minutes! the overall crowd levels are going to be moderate, not light and not heavy, so i couldn't imagine any walk on rides except for like ET or Ollivanders if you count that as a ride.

you can probably do other rides not in the WWoHP but you should probably pick them out before you go because its easy to get carried away.

tips from me: try BOTH butterbeers, but the frozen is WAAAY better. also the butterbeer cup is truly worth it! the fudge is really good from Honeydukes, and my friend told me that all of the ice cream flavors in US have weird names, but they all taste really good!
oh and, eating at the Three Broomsticks or Leaky Cauldron is WORTH it! The restaurants are themed inside, and it tastes like a good ole hogwarts feast. Also, drinking a butterbeer at night looking at Hogwarts with the lighting on it is my fondest memory of WWoHP, i recommend staying til dark to see the harry Potter parks at night, i dont know why, but it made it feel way more magical.
Finally, if the butterbeer lines are too long, go into the Hog's Head, they sell butterbeer and there's never a wait. :) have fun! harry potter world is the best
