I'm making a business trip to Orland next month and will have some free time on Thursday the 9th. I'm a Disneyland veteran so I'm thinking most of my time should be spent in MK. Anybody have any advice on finding the cheapest ticket option for 1 day and 1 park? Maybe MK shouldn't be the park I see. I'm open to suggestions!

I recently did 1 day at MK with my DD. There were no discounted 1 day tickets that I could find. 1 day ticket for MK is a small upcharge from the 1 day that can be used at EP/HS or AK.

If you have been to Disneyland often, perhaps a different theme park would be nice for a change?

I checked Mousesavers.com to see UT prices for one day. i have never bought a one day ticket, but I was interested to see that you could buy a one day ticket that includes Epcot, DHS and AK for one day. (it did not include the MK) It might be fun to do something new! I could imagine either DHS (am) and Epcot (pm) or AK in the am and finish at Epcot with Illuminations at night.

If you are a Disneyland veteran I would suggest that you go to EPCOT for your one day. Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom have a lot in common while EPCOT will be a completely different experience. If you are able to go at rope drop you could go right to Test Track since I assume that you have been of Soarin' in California. Use the morning for Future World then at 11:00 go experience World Showcase. There isn't a lot in the way of rides in WS but visiting the countries is fun.

There are no discounted tickets although EP, AK, DHS are a little cheaper than the MK.

Heave fun!!!

I am not sure if you are going to a conference but many times conference attendees will have access to discounted one day tickets or for tickets to visit after Epcot after 5pm.
I think you will really enjoy visiting the Magic Kingdom. You will feel right at home, but not quite! The kids keep talking about how when I was in New Orleans Square at Disneyland I was convinced I knew how to get to Main Street USA but ended up in an area where there were only restrooms. :D
Epcot is our favorite WDW park while DCA is our favorite DLR park. I honestly don't think Test Track comes close to Radiator Springs Racers but it is still a fun attraction.
If you are interested in experiencing the most rides - MK is the way to go. Epcot - WS is fun to wander and discover, even eating around the world is fun. Animal Kingdom might be the most different from what you have in CA

I agree with others who have said try one of the other parks. While MK is wonderful and has plenty to do, you will get a very different experience than what you are used to in DL.
Have fun!!

You can buy 1 day park hoppers, but I think the one day ticket you're referring to is for Epcot or DHS or AK (not all three). Then there's a separate one day for MK that is more expensive.

AK and Epcot are the two theme parks that are nothing like DL/DCA (except that Epcot has Turtle Talk and Soarin and Test Track (like Cars) which are in DCA), if you want a different experience. If you want to compare, then go to MK or HS because many of the same rides (only different) are there.

My first trip I planned little time at Epcot because when I looked at the map I thought it would be a quick trip. I wish I planned a whole day!
This ended up being my favorite park! The World Showcase is beautiful.

OK, I see. I misunderstood then. Thank you.

Sorry OP!
