Hi all! I booked my free dining package and, of course, had to get the one day ticket even though I already have tickets. On the WDW webpage, it states that a one day base ticket expires 14 days after the first use, but what if I don't use it on this upcoming trip? Will it expire, or will it still be good for our next trip in the future? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance for the help.

A one-day ticket will not expire. Since it's a single use ticket, it's impossible to have more than the "first use".

Good question because wouldnt a one day ticket expire at the end of the day of first use?

My understanding is that it won't expire until it is used. For instance, if a person bought a 7-day pass on April 29th, and didn't use it until September 1, the 7-day ticket would not expire until September 14th. Hope this helps.

all MYW tickets expire within 14 days of first use, or until all days are used up, whichever comes first.

if the ticket is never used, it does not expire.

a 1 day ticket technically is not a 'single use' as you have unlimited exit and re-entry to the same park regardless. but it will expire at midnight of that day.

ETA: actually, I may be misrepresenting it. there would be 0 days left for parks, but the ticket itself isn't expired per se as I believe any unused plus options will continue to be available for up to 14 days since activation.

Thanks for the responses. I have a tendency to over think things, and my brain was getting a little bumfuzzled thinking about it!

Could the one day ticket (with non-expiration) expire after last day of check-out if not used?

no. if it's never used, the 14 day clock never starts ticking. it's good indefinitely.

You can also have the 1 day ticket removed from your room key to keep from future use. Just ask lobby concierge at your hotel to do this. This is what we did last year during free dining.

OK -
My question on this topic is - if you buy one ticket to take advantage of the free DDP, then can you sell it to someone else?

tickets are non-transferable.

Actually, this is incorrect. Unused tickets ARE transferable. Disney policy and Florida state law both state that partially-used multi-day/multi-feature tickets are non-transferable. If the ticket is unused, it's up for grabs.

For example, let's say you bought a 1-day ticket, went into Epcot, left Epcot, then sold the ticket outside the gate to someone else, for them to use to enter the park. THAT wouldn't be kosher. But it's okay to sell a ticket that's never been used.

My one day ticket, for free dining last year, is still on my room key, do I need to bring it back to disney next month, when I come to Disney in May to be transferred off( we have annual passes) or leave it on the old room keys? The hotel would not take it off last year. Thanks in advance.

We also got the1dayMYW ticket with the free dining last year. (We had annual passes.) On Easter vacation, 2007 we used some of the one day tickets. They were still on the old room key, we couldn't get them removed to a paper ticket last summer. Since they were from 2006, the turnstiles would not register the ticket so we had to go to guest services where they looked up the information and printed us out paper one day MYW tickets. It would have been nice to know this before my husband tried to use the ticket. But the ticket was good. Hope this helps.

Yes take your room key with you. You can use the amount of the ticket toward your AP. Or just take the key with you to the park and use it as admission one day.

During last year's free DDP we already had AP's we were using so I brought a Sharpie marker with us and wrote right on the room key before we left that it included a 1-day base ticket. That way I won't accidentally throw it away. I plan to apply them to AP's when we visit during this year's free DDP, and use the new 1-day base tickets for next year. Hope it works!
