1 day or 2? Park Hopper?

My son has a show at DCA that I am going for on Saturday. We no longer have APs, but we had them for the last few years and have been to both parks tons and tons of times. We are technically on a Disney break for the next couple of years trying to use our travel dollars for real experiences rather than theme parks. That said. . . His show is at 1:30 Saturday. I currently have a hotel booked for Saturday night (I am leaving my house at about 5 am Saturday to make it). I was planning on sleeping in Sunday and getting up and leaving for the 6 hour drive home. But then I was thinking maybe I should get 2 days of tickets and spend much of sunday at Disney. But then I think I will be too tired the following week (which is a busy one for me). So I am basically decided on just one day. But then I need to decide on park hopper. Park hopper on a one day ticket almost doubles the cost! But will there be enough to do in DCA for a whole day? Am I going to miss anything super important at DL if I do not get a park hopper? Like I said, I have done all the rides a million times. So it more experiences that I might miss. Oh! And is the Cove Bar currently open?

Cove Bar is open until the end of this month, so you're in luck! Do you want to see the new fireworks, Together Forever? The projections on Main Street are nice and you don't have to be right in front of the castle to enjoy this show (which means you don't have to camp out for hours to get a good spot!). Do you want to ride Hyperspace Mountain? That recently had the Star Wars overlay put back on. Have you ridden the train and the Mark Twain since they reopened last year? The new tracks for both were really well done. Not that I'm trying to exhaust you or make you spend extra money, but those are some nice things in DL that you might enjoy. Hope your son's show goes well!
