Would appreciate any advice, Thanks.

Hi jackiebelle and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

Can't help with camping but I'm sure someone will come along who can help :)

Yes we've staye d here but it was in October to go to DLP so didn't use any of the camp facilities.

The camp is in the middle of the countryside surrounded by fields so the only way to DLP is by car. It's an easy journey & takes approx 20/30 mins.

Sorry can't remember how much it is to park at DLP because last time we went we stayed onsite.

Is this les etangs fleuris? I haven't been yet but that is where we're staying in June (whoooo)

As I understand it (and as Sue has confirmed) the only option is to drive to get there. But I imagine a campsite that close to Disney *may* have an organised bus on a few days (as I know La Croix de vieux pont which is around an hour away does)

When are you going Jackiebelle?

Hi, Yes its le etangs fleuris, we are arriving end of June,30th staying 7 nights, so maybe you can let me know how you get on if your back in time?
Found car park price from another DLP site - 8 euros.

We'll be back on the 19th so I'll investigate for you and let you know!

We have just got back from our holiday in France staying at les etangs fleuris at Touquin for 9 nights, and then la croix du vieux pont at Berny-Riviere for 3 nights. It was our second visit to Touquin. We have annual passes for dlrp and spent 5 days there in total. We find it great to have 'rest' days between the 'Disney' days. The campsite is about 5 mins drive from Touquin village. It is small and quiet and great for doing disney. A nice place to relax after a day at the parks with room for the kids to run around. It is a straight forward 30 min drive to Disney and then you need to add about 10 mins to walk from the car park to the gates. We stayed with camping life and the mobile home was very nice and clean. Parking is included if you have annual passes but costs 8euros otherwise. It can get very cold at night so we took sleeping bags this time round and we definitely needed them.

There is a coach to disney from the site but the price per person was quite high - I think about 12 euros - so if you have a car with you anyway why not use it and have the flexibility of returning when you want.

Thanks Eliza, sounds like you had great time! could I just ask what food like & pricewise on camp, my lot fussy bugs!

And thanks nifferwilko, hope it all goes well with your trip. :goodvibes

You can order baguettes and croissants at the bar for the next day, but at a price. 85 cents for a baguettes compared with 30 cents in a supermarket. However for the convenience we did use this service - and took lots of baguettes into the parks to snack on during the day. There is a bar but no restaurant. In high season - after May I think - there is a takeaway. It wasn't there on our last trip but we did use it last year and were not very impressed with the quality of the food.

We went to E.LeClerc supermarket in Coulommiers and to the Auchen supermarket at val d'europe. Beware that neither of these is open on Sunday.

Looks like Eliza has answered all your questions (and a few of mine)!! But if you think of anything you want to know before the 10th June, let me know and I'll check it out for you.

Eliza - how did Les Etangs Fleuris compare with La Croix de vieux pont. Stayed at the latter a few times but never been to Touquin. Since my trip is for Disney, La croix seemed too far away!

The two sites are very different.

Les Etang Fleuris is small, quiet with fewer facilities but ideal for doing Disneyland. La Croix de vieux pont is bigger, busy with lots to do! It depends what you like. La Croix de vieux pont is in much more of an industrial area, whereas Les Etang Fleuris is very much in the middle of the French Countryside.

Personally I like the more relaxed atmosphere at Les Etang Fleuris. The camping life reception had games which the children could borrow and this kept them happy for the times we were at the camp. Most people are out during the day and it is very quiet. There is an outdoor swimming pool but it wasn't open over Easter.

We enjoyed the facilites at La Croix de vieux pont although I thought some of them looked a bit run down and in need of cleaning/updating. It was a nice contrast to stay here after doing Disneyland and it made the journey home a little bit shorter. The restaurant called Chez Micheline at Bernie Riviere was excellent.

Thanks for that info Eliza. I was wondering how the two sites compared. We really like Berny Riviere (DD loves the pool) but it is a bit further to visit DLP. We spent 9 days there and then moved to Santa Fe this year but were wondering about doing it the other way round next year. However the other option could be to stay at the closer site to do Disney then move to B Riviere as you did. We are looking at getting annual passes so being on site wont be too important as we'll still get EMH and parking. Also the sound of a few rest days between park days sounds good although Im not sure we'd be able to keep away being so close. Yet another option to look at.
:cool1: :cool1:

This will be first time going Abroad with family. How much spending money does everyone take? got dlrp tickets already so just need fuel/food/treat money!
Also got European travel adaptor today, but says on back might not work in France, does anyone know if they work in the caravans?
Thanks again for all info!

Which holiday company are you staying with jackiebelle? We stayed in a camping life mobile home and we didn't need to use an adaptor - mobile home had both socket as in UK and european. I don't know if all the mobile homes are like this.

We are on a fairly tight budget so we limited oursleves to £300 spending money and used credit card to pay for food/fuel at supermarkets. We mainly ate back at the campsite or at Mcdonalds with lots of snacks during the day.

We have booked with camping life too! so good to know. We dont have credit card though, hopefully gonna stick to £1,000 savings for the week.:confused3

Not stayed at les Etangs, hopefully next yr ! 2nd stay @ berny this yr :)

Like Eliza, our mobile home had UK sockets ,just aswell i we forgot the adaptor lol.

RE: food,we took quite a lot with us for when onsite,so just did a normal tesco shop before we went

so there were plenty of snacks for onsite and during the day at DLRP ( my 2 sons eat for wales and seem to constantly snack !!)

then we ate out in the evening in the village ( Rainforest cafe last time,Cafe mickey this time round)

when we go in july we are going to bring disposable BBQs and eat al fresco lol ( fingers crossed for lovely sunny weather !)

If we were @ DLRP longer than 1 day i would set a budget for food, by looking at the DLRP food website and getting a rough idea of cost for meals :http://www.dlpfoodguide.com/

also set a budget for the kids in the shop !
