We've eaten at RR three times.
The first time we ate there for lunch. I had the worst burger I've ever tasted. I would like to say I'm exaggerating, but I'm not. I tried a couple bites, but that was all I could stomach. I'm a very adventurous eater, but the combo didn't work. I noticed it didn't last long on the menu, so I'm obviously not the only one that found it vile. DH had fish & chips. He found them soggy & not at all comparable to the fish & chips he's had at similar restaurants. He said he'd never order them again. We shared the bread pudding & didn't find it as good as other bread puddings we've tried, but that could have been my fault. I had read reviews that talked about the amazing sauces & emptied both of them in the pudding. It was way too sweet to be palatable. We tried putting it in a plate & scraping off as much sauce as possible, but it was too late to salvage it.
The second time I ate there was for dinner. DS & I met family there. They chose the restaurant. We were happy to give it another try hoping for a better experience. We shared Dalkey Duo, Scallop Forest, Mighty Mussels, Goat Figure salad & the dessert flight. Most of this was ordered, because I had read good reviews about them. Nothing was as good as comparable versions we've had at Irish restaurants here. The dessert trio was poor, grocery store quality. Most of our grocery stores offer much better.
Not one to give up, I allowed DISers to talk me into trying it once more for brunch. The brunch was supposed to be excellent, so I made an ADR hoping it would be better than our other meals there. (FWIW, I'm not blaming DISers for our experience.) There were four of us. We started with Crock O' Pate & an Irish Egg. Two of us had the full Irish. The other two ordered Eggs Benedict & pancakes. The one who ordered pancakes was happy with her meal. We all tried it & thought it was good. The rest of us thought our meals were bland & didn't compare to the Irish restaurants here. After that meal, DH asked me to not book that restaurant again. DS agreed. DS is similar to me & more discerning about food. DH will eat anything. For DH to ask me to not book that restaurant again said a lot. RR is the only restaurant at WDW he's said that about. As a side note, DH & I had met my sister & BIL at Wolfgang Puck Express for an early breakfast to catch up. We shared the corn flake french toast to save room for our RR brunch. That was our first time eating breakfast at WPE. We both thought that french toast was by far the best thing we had that morning/afternoon.
