1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

I loved the kids' shirts!!! Very inventive and original!!!

The gorillas are awesome photography subjects.

I love the walking trails. They are usually not crowded and very peaceful places to be.

OMG- It was packed at AK!!!! On our visit last month, It was soooooo hottttt!! We ended up leaving earlier than planned bc we were all just so hot and tired. We had to skip "It's a bug's life" and I was very disappointed but couldn't deal with the hot and cranky kids anymore.

Guess what? We're going! I don't think our dates will overlap with you - but plan along with me!

PTR: MAY we go to Disney? Yes, we MAY!

Loving the updates - I really enjoyed Animal Kingdom when we were there, although we went with friends so I wasn't in control at all that day of where we went  It's kind of a blur!

LOVE the Hollywood Studios PP pics. I've never seen the Chip magic shot either. And I love the one of you and John in front of TOT.

Great gorilla pics! I agree they are fascinating to watch! Glad your Mama decided to come along with you. I hope her experience was better

Those crowds on the way to the Safari! :faint:

Any chance of putting what the text of Jessie's t shirt is supposed to be I'm trying to figure out what it's from/ Lion King right?

It is from the Lion King. I had to google it to get the exact spelling. :rotfl2:

Lacey was so proud of the shirts and they got plenty of comments on them.

I love the walking trails too! It's part of the charm of the park.

Awww, I hate that you didn't get to see It's Tough To Be A Bug. It's a cute show!

Yay! I'm so excited that you're going to Disney!

It's hard to go on a trip with others and not have total control. It's tough for us planners!

I thought that the Hollywood Studios pictures came out really good.

I love love love the gorillas! Mama actually said that she was glad that she had decided to join us.

AK is my all time favorite park ! I want to go there ALONE some day so i can just wander around aimlessly and take pics of all the things I love .. including the Gorillas. :goodvibes

I am totally with you on that. I was to be able to take time to really SEE everything, take it all in, and not have a plan or goal or schedule. Dh doesn't believe me when I say I'd like a solo trip to WDW.

Your pictures of the gorillas are great. I love watching them play with their towels / blankets and their green buckets.

LOVED the gorilla pictures! You got some great ones. When I taught Biology 2, one of our units was on animal behavior. We read about Dian Fossey's work with the gorillas and Jane Goodall's work with chimpanzees and watched videos (and Gorillas in the Mist), and then went to the zoo and did our own observations. Every time I go to AK, I wish that I could have taken my students there. The gorillas are fascinating!

I love those AK shirts, I would definitely have had to google it too!
Fantastic gorilla shots, I could watch them all day too. That guy covering himself with the sheet is so funny!

I saw that too when I googled it. :confused3

Thanks! I would love to take a solo trip to Disney but I also know that I'd miss the rest of my family. So, I guess I just need to take them all to Disney but spend some time by myself in the parks.

I don't think that Jesse's t-shirt says what they think it says. Check this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lr3LssKNm8w . The correct words are what EastYorkDisneyFan sad.

I saw that too!

How neat! The gorilla observation sounds so interesting!

I didn't even notice the sheets in the gorilla enclosure until one of them put one on. Then I saw another in the distance.

You got some great gorilla shots!!

Thank you!

Lisa, I'm back (after only a month!@) to read on. LOVe that Lacey & Jessie had to ride on and this photo just cracks me up

Too bad it was so hot when you took your CSR tour. It is such a pretty resort. I kind of wish we could use our DVC points to stay there but we didn't buy through Disney so no can do.

I can just picture you walking and walking and walking to get to Boma. funny! This is a very cool light.

We've never been to Boma before though Sanaa has just made it to our favorites list!

LOVE the snake story! Too funny! Its a shame that you were'nt able to use a pair of the night goggles to view the savannah. We did that in October and it was cool.

what a great way for the kids to celebrate Mother's day. Love that Lacey
decorated! but where are the photos??

What is it about sitting around with family telling funny stories. those are
the best times, aren't they? I am just picturing your gang hanging by the pool cracking up laughing at this story.

what a bummer that you didn't make it to round 3 on the DPMP -- they missed out on a great Disney Mom!!!

wait, I am reading your Great Movie Ride experience and am confused. Did you have a gangster or a cowboy? I am always curious about the elusive cowboy scenario - we have only ever had a gangster.

sigh. while I am thoroughly enjoying your morning at hollywood studios, the guilt that the dog is laying on me is unbearable at this point. I need to put down the laptop & put on some clothes to walk him.

I'll be back soon Lisa!

oh Lisa I am back.

I know this may sound weird but I loved reading your description of your dinner almost-episode when John was not feeling well. I completely understand John's not feeling well..and know that look you must have given the waitress (I've made that warning look myself a few times). but what I love the best was that she quickly caught on that her attitude wasn't funny and had a quick and quiet chat with John - you've got a great guy there!

haha I am laughing about Jesse & the Mamaw do I need a haircut! funny!!

Nice Fantasmic shots Lisa. I love that big snake!

oh I love the photo with Chip ..I've never seen one like that before. Really I love seeing all your family shots. You are such a fun happy group!

wow you got some great photos of the gorillas!!

looking forward to more updates!

I love your ride pics at DHS!

Jesse and Lacey's shirts look great:thumbsup2

When we saw the gorillas a male was eating some kind of leafy green vegetable and the baby came up behind him and threw dirt on his food. He did it a couple times and finally the male got mad and turned around and grabbed her and bit her on the back. It only slowed her down for a minute.

Way, Way, Way, Way, WAY Behind!!!

But I'm going to start digging my way out

Dust:

Apparently the Hollywood Hotel uses the same cleaning service as the owners of the Haunted Mansion.

You got some great pictures in the queue there. Love the one of the light fixture on the ceiling and of the lobby. We are usually moving through there pretty quickly, so my pictures are often blurry.

Did I miss it? How did Hunter do?

Those Darth Chocolate cupcakes look incredible. I am usually not a huge cupcake fan, but Disney certainly knows what it is doing when it comes to this treat.

Gangsta/Alien:

It really is tough getting pictures on The Great Movie Ride! It's so dark and the movement of the tram does not help. Even still, great picture of the Alien (is that the one on the side?) and the pictures form the Wizard of Oz scenes are spectacular. Love the ones of Munchkinland and Emerald City.

The collection of movie clips at the end of the attraction is really well done. Always makes me smile.

Catastrophe:

That Little Mermaid picture IS beautiful!

Bummer that the preshow to the Back Lot Tour was not operating. We love that part and because of lightning in the area, they weren't running it when we were there either.

The AFI props in the dump shop at the end of the ride are so interesting!

Tourist

No, I have not noticed the eyeballs in the light fixture in the Muppets queue. Thanks for pointing them out. Good eye, Lisa!

Great update! Love all of the pics of the gorillas! AK is my favorite park! :goodvibes

Thanks! I could wander around in the park all day long.

Those two are such goofballs!

Too bad it was so hot when you took your CSR tour. It is such a pretty resort. I kind of wish we could use our DVC points to stay there but we didn't buy through Disney so no can do.

I have thought about renting points soooo many time but I'm too afraid.

I can just picture you walking and walking and walking to get to Boma. funny! This is a very cool light.

Isn't it neat!

We've never been to Boma before though Sanaa has just made it to our favorites list!

Sounds like Sanaa needs to be added to our "think about going there next time" list.

LOVE the snake story! Too funny! Its a shame that you were'nt able to use a pair of the night goggles to view the savannah. We did that in October and it was cool.

The snake was little but still scary!

what a great way for the kids to celebrate Mother's day. Love that Lacey
decorated! but where are the photos??

That was the one night that I forgot to take pictures. Can you believe it? What kind of Diser am I?

What is it about sitting around with family telling funny stories. those are
the best times, aren't they? I am just picturing your gang hanging by the pool cracking up laughing at this story.

I love those kind of memories! They will forever be in our minds.

what a bummer that you didn't make it to round 3 on the DPMP -- they missed out on a great Disney Mom!!!

There's always next year! I'm not going to give up as long as they continue taking applications.

John always feels so bad/guilty when his epilepsy rears it's ugly head. It's really tough on him. I have no idea what was up with the waitress but she turned on the charm immediately after "the look".

haha I am laughing about Jesse & the Mamaw do I need a haircut! funny!!

Mamaw is big on making sure that everybody has their hair cut and styled just right.

Nice Fantasmic shots Lisa. I love that big snake!

I was actually surprised that the snake picture came out so well.

oh I love the photo with Chip ..I've never seen one like that before. Really I love seeing all your family shots. You are such a fun happy group!

That was the first time that I had seen Chip make an appearance.

wow you got some great photos of the gorillas!!

looking forward to more updates!

Hope to get an update posted today.
