1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

I enjoyed your pictures from the Maharajah trail. You got some gorgeous shots of the beautiful tigers!

I do love that you have the traditional picture spot with Hunter. I haven't done anything like that with my boys and that is a shame. We didn't realize we would be coming back to Disney again. and again. and again. But we have.

I love all of the funky birds in the aviary. Mark and I once stayed at a resort in Jamaica that had a huge aviary and twice a day was feeding time. You would go in and get cups of fruit or seed and all of these beautiful, colorful birds would land on you.

We never spend much time in the Oasis. In the morning we are rushing to the rides. In the afternoon as we are leaving we are rushing to our next destination. We really should take time to stop and smell, the , um, roses?

We had issues checking in too. What a crazy system. But I will say it's one of my favorites at Disney now. I plan to eat there on our next trip but I have to figure out when and give them a direct call to get a reservation,...basically I have been pretty lazy with plans. :rotfl:

Yay for the "kids" booking their trip!!!

Lisa, you have a wonderful understanding of your mama and I'm sure you have been a blessing to her over the last few days. I do think she made the right decision about the funeral and it was great that you were able to support her in that.

I don't get on to post much any more, but I am loving your trip report again. :thumbsup2

So sorry to hear about your uncle. I hope Mama is doing OK. I agree, everyone grieves in their own way. On a lighter note, I am excited that Lacey and Jesse will be joining you guys again!

I don't know why they don't have some signage. It's confusing to say the least. Your eyes weren't deceiving you....Hunter really ordered a steak. Hard to believe, I know!

The ice cream cake whatever it was was very good. It was so big that we all sampled it.

Put 'em both on your list because I highly recommend them both.

Hunter loves that hat but kept forgetting to wear it.

Holy smokes Ann! I am fussing 'cause we are supposed to get down in the teens tonight. I can't imagine it being below zero. :faint:

No Pizza! It's hard to believe, I know. :rotfl:

T-Rex would be a little boy's dream! Lots of roaring and dinos and good food!

I had a pin for some of our May dates but our stay goes over to June so it only covered part of the vacation. When they came out with the Visa deal, the % off wasn't as high but it covered all dates so I saved more money.

The new promo is supposed to be open to the general public tomorrow!

Since you have an ADR go directly to the line on the right hand side of the elephant (your right) to check-in. There's a possiblity that it won't be busy and you can go right on in.

We have always gotten the 2nd category seats and they've been really good. Honestly, though, I don't know that there's a bad seat in the theater. Much of the show takes place off the ground so even the higher seats would be good.

Sign up for the free Cirque Club. They will send out email offers. That's what got us the 25% off Category 2 seats!

Awesome I didnt know I could get a discount! Thanks :thumbsup2 If I call the restaurant directly and get a earlier reservation will it be listed on my Disney Experience on the WDW site ?

Sorry about your uncle and I think your Mama made the best decision for her. You are such a great daughter spending your weekend caring for her like that. I know you two Ave a special relationship. Megan and I are lie that and I just love her to pieces for it. I have lost two close friends my age this year and it really hit me. It wasn't my parents friends or my elderly relatives it was friends my age!

We haven't tried Trex but we did Rainforest this her and really enjoyed it. We had a great waiter, the food was good and the kids loved the atmosphere.

I could have sworn I replied to this on Friday, but I guess not.

We keep throwing T-Rex on the possibility list, but it never gets picked. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact we don't like Rainforest.

I love your nice pictures and your silly pictures...you guys crack me up.

The steak looks awfully yummy.

:dance3::dance3::dance3: that Lacey and Jesse will be joining you.

Kathy, T-Rex is very similar to Rainforest Café so I can see how you'd shy away from T-Rex. But, the steaks were exceptionally good so you might want to give it a try. Just don't blame me if you don't like it. :rotfl:

I'm excited that Lacey and Jesse are planning on going with us again. Hopefully, their budget will continue to allow for the trip.

Lisa, once again, my thoughts are with you and your family. I'm sorry to hear about the emotions your mama is facing with this loss. How nice that you are spending time with her and trying to distract her.

That is great news about Lacey and Jesse joining you for your spring trip! You all have such fun together.

Thank you Dee! I'm doing what I can to keep Mama from dwelling on his death.

We do have a lot of fun together and I'm happy that they've decided to go with us again.

Dear Sweet Lisa,:hug::hug: Thank you for being there for your Mama and for supporting her in her decision. I am sorry about your Uncle, I can only imagine the memories those hospital days stirred. Huge prayers and love coming your way.:goodvibes:hug:

I wish that I had thought of taking more pictures like that to show how much Hunter has grown since our first trip. Like you, though, I didn't think that we'd be going back time and time again.

I love all of the funky birds in the aviary. Mark and I once stayed at a resort in Jamaica that had a huge aviary and twice a day was feeding time. You would go in and get cups of fruit or seed and all of these beautiful, colorful birds would land on you.

That sounds so neat! I'd love to do that!

We never spend much time in the Oasis. In the morning we are rushing to the rides. In the afternoon as we are leaving we are rushing to our next destination. We really should take time to stop and smell, the , um, roses?

On the way in, we skip right on through The Oasis but in the evenings, we take our time and look around a bit.

We had issues checking in too. What a crazy system. But I will say it's one of my favorites at Disney now. I plan to eat there on our next trip but I have to figure out when and give them a direct call to get a reservation,...basically I have been pretty lazy with plans. :rotfl:

I've never had to call the restaurant directly and have always lucked up on finding an ADR. But, I know that they can sometimes be hard to come by.

It's so good to see you again! I had to do whatever was necessary to help my Mama. If others don't understand, then so be it.

So sorry to hear about your uncle. I hope Mama is doing OK. I agree, everyone grieves in their own way. On a lighter note, I am excited that Lacey and Jesse will be joining you guys again!

Thank you! His death brought up so many memories and it was pretty tough for her.

Awesome I didnt know I could get a discount! Thanks :thumbsup2

I've gotten ticket discounts twice through the Cirque Club. So, there's a real possibility that you may too.

Thank you! That's exactly what's been going on with Mama. HER friends are dying. The friends that are HER age. It's been tough on her. I

I'm so happy that you and Megan are so close. It's a special relationship like no other. You are blessed my friend!

If you enjoyed Rainforest Café, then I'm sure that you'd like T-Rex. They have the same type of theme (change out dinos for jungle animals) and the food reminds me of the other restaurant.

Thank you Judy! It's been rough. My daddy died in April, 1992, my Papaw died in June, 1992, my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimers less than a year later and died soon thereafter and in the last three or four years, several more relatives have passed away. Most were treated in the exact same hospital as my daddy. There was one awful period of time when my daddy was in ICU sixteen times in just a three month period of time. So, needless to say, it was hard for my Mama to even step foot inside the building.

I appreciate all of the prayers and love that you can send our way. We will take every single one of them.

Lisa I'm so sorry for your loss. Everyone deals with death in their own way. :grouphug: There is no right or wrong. "Mama" made the decision that was best for her.

I'm sure you are so thrilled that all your family will be vacationing again in the summer. I'll be looking for that trip report too. :goodvibes

Thank you! You're right. Everybody deals with death in their own way and only they know the best way to cope. I couldn't see myself leaving Mama alone all day long either.

I'm super happy that they'll be going along. Mama said that she's done with Disney. Too much walking and this trip is going to be even longer than the others so I know that she couldn't make it.

I have another question. If I call the T-Rex restaurant directly and get an earlier reservation will it be listed on my Disney Experience on the WDW site ?
Oh I'm sorry about your loss :( I kind of skipped over reading everything until just now. Hope your all doing alright :(

I don't think that it will show up since it's made through their reservation system and not Disney's. But, once you get your confirmation number from the restaurant, you could try to link it to your Disney reservations. Not sure if that would work but you could try it.

Thank you! We're dealing with it the best we can.

You are so good to your Mama. I would just echo what everyone else has said, but you did the right thing. :thumbsup2

I may end up adding a TRex or Rainforest ressie to our trip. I haven't decided yet though… we'll see!

As some of you already know, my uncle passed away Friday morning. He was my daddy's brother. Uncle Aubrey had suffered for quite some time with heart problems, battled bouts of pneumonia and was on dialysis. My Daddy had all of those and more and passed away at just 61 years old back in 1992. My uncle looked just like my daddy and, as I said, they had many of the same health issues. Every single time my uncle would go to the hospital, Mama would mention that fact. It brought up so many memories for my Mama and for me too. It reminded us of those long nights spent at the hospital, the holidays celebrated in the hospital room or without my daddy, the fact that daddy hated being tubed, etc. I've spent the majority of my weekend keeping my Mama's mind off of things. We went to several stores yesterday looking for a shawl/cape for her to take on her cruise. She bought some new decorations for her front porch. We stopped and got something to eat. John and I spent a couple of hours at her house last evening. Anything to keep her from being alone. The visitation and funeral were at a funeral home almost two hours away and we chose to just go to the funeral since visitation was in the evening. Today, we awoke to rainy cold weather and Mama made the decision that she would not go to the funeral. She is paranoid about driving in bad weather (one of my daddy's phobias that carried over to Mama) but I don't think that's the only reason that she made the decision. I truly don't think that Mama would have made it through the funeral. I don't know if she knew this subconsiously or not but I know it. Mama called my uncle's wife and spoke with her for a while this morning and she understood Mama not wanting to get out in the bad weather. They are fine. Everybody has their own way of dealing with death and illnesses. If Mama didn't want to go, then that's okay. If nobody else understands it, then so be it. I have to let Mama do what's best for her. Mama has also had some other issues that she's been dealing with some of which are completely understandable and some that are simply because of her worrywart self. Okay, sorry for all the "down" talk. Let's move on to better, funner, happier talk! Lacey and Jesse booked their Disney vacation! They will be joining us for six nights in May! We are super excited as are they. The Mickeystoontown Gang will be together in Walt Disney World again!

Sorry Lisa for your loss. Sending my love and prayers to you and your family!!!

I told Hunter this and he said that he wants to come visit you and Vinny. He wants to go to NYC so bad.
He can have the guest room.

I agree it is confusing checking in at that restaurant.
Hunter turned into a Na’vi. (Avatar reference)
I would love to know what people around you thought when making those fish pics. LOL
Your meal looked so good.
WOW! That ice cream cake is HUGE.
Sorry for your loss.

Wow! Life got in the way with DH being in Afghanistan and trying to get the kiddos through the holidays but I am happy to say I am finally all caught up on your trip report. I love reading your trip reports and it was just what I needed this morning with our wind chill at -15!!! Seeing pictures of people wearing shorts and soaking up sunshine is very appealing!

Prayers and hugs for you and your mama on your family's loss. You are a wonderful daughter and you and your Mama are lucky to have each other.

Can't wait to read more about your trip!
