I know the diff between the two, is the 1-bedroom too big for just 2 people? Love the the jacuzzi. What have others done?

DH and I have only gotten a 1 bedroom for the 2 of us once. The studio set up works for us. I tend to get a 1 bedroom when there's 3 of us.

I once got a 1Br just for myself! It was like having my very own apartment in WDW

Not at all too big, if you enjoy the extra room! Honestly, I really don't care for the size of a studio but sometimes the lack of points necessitates them once in a awhile for me. I would do 1br exclusively if I went a few less times a year.

The studios are just too small after being spoiled with 1br villas - especially the Kidani ones with enough room for two bathrooms even!!

We like the king sized bed and separate shower from the tub. So once our son heads off to college and we get back into positive points (that GV put us negative), the two of us will go in a one bedroom.

There are many threads about people who will not rent a studio after getting a one bedroom. I personally love having a kitchen where I can make and share breakfast with my wife. It is also nice to have a sitting area that is not the bedroom. As someone else said it is like having an apartment at Disneyworld.

Whatever makes you happy.

Hubby and I stayed in the 1-br one year and were hooked. Loved, loved the large tub (and you can open the french shutters off the bathroom and watch the TV in the master from the bathtub). I didn't use the w/d, but it was nice to know it was there. Didn't turn the stove on once, but kept a few sodas in the fridge.

Basically, we didn't need all those amenities. I don't go on vaca to cook or do laundry. But I really liked having all the room. I went to bed early one night and he watched TV in the living room. Having a separate toilet was nice, too. Huge bathroom.

Studios seem more like hotel rooms and 1 bedrooms seem more like apartments. I think it is the 1 bedrooms that makes DVC a new vacation experience. We started with only 220 points and soon added on after we discovered the difference the 1 bedroom made for us.

Me too! 160 points initially have grown to 510!
And still not enough!!
:scared1:

Having the separate living room/bedroom in the 1 bed is great for the two of us...if I can't sleep and DH is exhausted, I can easily watch TV or busy myself without bothering him in the other room...or vice-versa.

Also, 2nd bathroom in some of the 1 beds makes for a happy morning.

I love having a seperate living area and not having to tip toe around in the morning while making coffee etc.

A 1 bed rm is a luxury, when you can afford it, it is perfect in ever way! King bed, w/d, huge tub, 2 tvs, large fridge, with dishes, room in the bathroom. If you cannot afford the extra points, a studio is still better IMO than a standard room. I booked a 1 bedroom for 3 nights for our 10th anniv. Having extra points would do it again in 3 mins flat.

For us it's all about the kitchen. If we're going to make use of the kitchen, we go for the 1 BR. If we'll be doing most of our dining at the fantastic Disney restaurants, we opt for studio to save points for more trips! :cool1:

if it comes to having a 1 bedroom for 1 visit or a studio and being able to go twice, I would not hesitate to do a studio!!:)

I love doing a 1 bedroom just for myself!! But having just bought in to DVC, I am doing studio ...next two trips!! I do not like to eat restaurant food, I like to make my own weird stuff, not to mention I am up for breakfast at 4 am!

But will make due with a studio just to go more times!

We have stayed in a 1bdr on occassion, but generally use a studio. We prefer to go more often and stay in a studio than go less and stay in a 1 bdr. Usually we end up in a 1 bdr if we are putting together a last minute trip and that is all that is left for certain days. Having the extra space is really nice and although I agree with a pp about cooking and doing laundry we always try and get some laundry done if we are just relaxing in the room, because it is less to deal with when you get home.

What we have only done once is a 2 bdr and I wish I had the points to do it every time!

Always a 1 or 2 Br, then my sleeping habits don't bother anyone else! I also want everyone to be comfortable and that includes a bed and some privacy as well. I applaud those who can stay 4 or 5 in a studio, I just can't, and trust me, no one else would want to be there with me either!

I am in awe:worship: of the people who book 1 bedrooms for 2 or for one person. We have lots of points, over 1000, but we go fairly often, and very often we have a 2 bedroom for our extended family with DGC and ourselves, plus maybe a studio or inn room for others. If I were to book a 1 bedroom for just DH and myself (and he wouldn't necessarily say it would be a good idea) I would be even more borrowed than we are (we have just about 800 in our 2012 UY and have not booked any reservations in our 2012 UY yet!

I suppose I give to the airlines more than our share of money, because we do make more trips because of the studios DH and I stay in.

The diffrent here is how many times have you bin to isney is it youre first time a studio will be fine because youre never around . But if you have bin often to disney and do you spend more time in the hotel a 1 br is more comfy .
