1 bedroom villa or family suite at ASM?

I'm planning a 9 night trip for my family in October. There are 5 of us. In the past, we have rented points and stayed in 1 bedrooms at blt and bcv.
I'm trying to cut back on expenses and thinking about a family suite at asm.

We won't do anything smaller than a 1 bedroom because we like to spread out.

I love the deluxes and all that they offer and hesitate to book asm because I think we've become a bit spoiled. But the price difference for 9 nights is something like 3k, which is crazy. Plus if I book asm, I'll have the chance for free dining that time of year, so even more savings.

Anyone done the villas and then family suite? Is there a huge difference?

An ASM Family Suite won't have a full kitchen, and is really two rooms mushed together. So if the kitchen is a big deal to you, that may be a factor.

Free Dining at ASMu will be QSDP, if offered. However, I would not expect FD in October. October is a busy season and they don't need the discount to fill rooms and parks.

I completely forgot it would be the qsdp. I thought fall was free dining time? We've always gone in the spring before so I'm new to visiting this time of year.

You are totally comparing apples to oranges.
There is NOTHING that I would be able to compare one to the other.
Agree $3k is a huge amount but you are also considerably downgrading.
You need to decide what you really want/need/expect from your resort and go from there.

If Bounceback is any indication there will be no Free Dining even close to October.
They don't need it that time and I think they are trying to stop it during Food & Wine.

October was seriously busy last year, and the last day to check in for FD was 10/1. I don't see any of October being included for US visitors, honestly.

Don't start thinking October is a low crowd season.

We stay Deluxe - always 1BR or 2BR - I could never pay the prices the values ask for Suites. I'd much rather either put the extra money into Deluxe and get the amenities that go with it, or downgrade the Deluxe stay a bit and still get the location we want. The Value Suites are just too overpriced for what is offered, location, amenities, etc. And no, I've never stayed in one, but I have been in them when friends have stayed there.
