Does anyone know how comfortable the Sofa bed is? Is it OK to sleep on for 9 nights!

Also Disney web-site says sleeps 5 as also has a 'Chair bed' - is that a single sofa bed (if you get what I mean) do you think a small adult could sleep on it (5'2 & slim!) - or is it for young children only?

Tempted to book OKW to get free dining (X4!!) next year - as I'd like to stay on site again but need to be sure of beds as kids will still probably be with us :lmao:

i think they've changed the furniture since we stayed there, but the times we stayed at OKW, we took the 2 Bedroom for that reason...i didn't want the kids sleeping on the sofabed for 3 weeks...
usually my mom would fly in for a week and during that week, DS slept on the chair-bed or the sofabed....it was ok for the week, but not great....but as i said, it was a number of years ago...i'm pretty sure they've changed the furniture since then..

Thanks:)
2 bed is £600 dearer which takes it above what I'm willing to pay - don't mind paying Disney prices if free dining included but just makes it a step too far. Off site we tend to book two rooms.

DS is 19 & at Uni so not used to life's comforts :rotfl2: so for the 'treat' of staying on Disney may be prepared to slum it on Sofa-bed. Not so sure DD will be convinced about 'Chair Bed' though.:lmao:

If I book 1 bed & finances allow nearer the time, could I upgrade to two bed without losing free DDP do you know?

We did the opposite - booked a 2 bed and down-sized to a 1 bed. For the saving, I was willing to lose a bedroom! One of the kids will sleep on the chairbed. If it's uncomfortable, we will play musical beds and all take our turn on the damn thing.;)

We had a one bedroom villa in 2009 and our 13 and 11 yo's shared the double sofa bed for 3 weeks. Obviously not as comfortable as a real bed but they were ok on it. They did ask to swap to the massive bed in the bedroom for the last week which we ignored!

That was my thought too:rotfl:

It was easier when they were younger I'd shove them in the same bed :rotfl2: That's why we used to go to AKL - bunk beds!!

Not 100% DS will want to come anyway - currently it's yes - but we'll see;)

Yeah, sure we'll cope. I'm going with the thought that teenagers will sleep anywhere - he still falls asleep in the back of the car :rolleyes2

Thanks for the link Samaya:), think we're going to go for it - he can put mattress on floor if frame that uncomfortable.

We had 1 BR villa at OKW a few weeks ago for the three of us - DD19 used the sofa bed without complaint and DS had the chairbed - he is 12 and 5'8" -so quite a big lad (nearly as tall as me), and he was happy enough there

I think you will be fine and I have heard that you can get a mattress topper from housekeeping as well, but haven't had to do ask.
I am sure you will be fine with the 1BR

Great, Thanks. I liked the look of the size of them, having kitchien are for Brekkie & washing machine etc, also balcony/patio area, so I'm convinced now:)

I do like to book next years before I've had this years - it softens the blow of coming home, this will be a split stay with 5-7 days in Connecticut 1st (staying with Brother & family)

We found the sofa bed very uncomfortable, would avoid doing it again. We put the 2 children in the bedroom so we could use the lounge in the evening. In then end we put the kids to sleep in the bedroom , then moved them to the sofa bed when we were ready to go to bed! They are still quite young so didn’t wake when they were moved!

the full kitchen/living room is wonderful..
but my absolute favorite part of both the one and two bedroom at OKW is the incredible laundry room....i wish i had a room that nice at home!!!!

Have to agree with this - Last year my two DDs grabbed the bedroom as soon as we arrived and me and DH had the sofa bed. It takes a lot for me to complain but it made my hips and back ache during the night so I didn't get the best nights sleep. We put up with it as we get up earlier than the kids so we didn't disturbed them in the morning

For this reason we're stopping in the studio next year as this has 2 beds. I really wish they would do a one bed but with a proper bed in the lounge area

The chair bed is a full length single - DD uses it at both OKW and BLT and when I have laid with her it's seems quite nice.

As an aside the mattresses do no come off the frames of the sofabeds.

I can't imagine giving up that king bed for DD  She either stayed up till we went to bed or just fell asleep while we were still there. Occasional we sat on the balcony having a drink. We make more use of the living room during the day than at night!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom this year and I slept on the sofa bed. It was very comfortable and would sleep on it again if needed.

Since the refurb of the units (with the wooden floors etc.) I think the sofa beds were renewed, and that's when I believe the chair beds were added. We actually bought an airbed from Wal-Mart for DD to sleep on, but she was happy with the chair bed and DS was OK with the sofa bed (and he's fairly fussy ), so the airbed went back to Wal-Mart...

The year before we were upgraded to a 2BR (which was a lovely surprise) so they each had a double bed in the 2nd bedroom...

We had a 1 bed villa at OKW for our summer trip.
As youngest went to bed earlier than others we decided to let the girls share the master bed. DS slept in bed chair while Diane and I slept in the bed settee.
Our trip was for 2 weeks and we found sleeping no problem at all :)

That's good to hear as I am sure we will end up relinquishing the master bed.

I absolutely agree with this! ::yes:: I spend a lot of time in that room, but I never feel hard done by!!
