Can anyone tell me if the 1 bed apts at SSR have a separate shower (like they do in a 2 bed appt) or a shower over the bath?
Have any of you stayed in a 1 bed apt rather than a studio - are they a much nicer place to stay - I know they will be bigger but is the extra room worth it as there will be only the 2 of us.

Are just considering all the options before we book for next Sept.

Thanks

The 1 beds at SSR do have the seperate shower and tub :)

Thanks Claire - some of the photos are not very clear about this.

Its about £350 to upgrade to the 1 bed villa - we dont mind a studio but the extra room would be nice for a change. Would you say its worth the extra to upgrade?

We could use that money to pay for our car hire - or just be decadant and go for it!

We are tempted with a one bed, but as there is just the two of us it just isn't worth it really, although the shower and full kitchen would be nice.

The only one beds not to have the seperate shower and tub are the AKL Jambo units as they were converted from the AKL hotel rooms.

I haven't stayed in a 1 bed at SSR but we always do at OKW where they are even bigger. We love the extra space and the whirlpool tub even tho there are just 2 of us! If you have enough points well worth going for.

No points - Disney uk are doing special on free dining for next Sept.
Its about £1900 for 10 nights including Dlx Disney Dining and park tickets
for a studio and just over £2200 for a studio.

We have flight vouchers from AA from a flight we moved last december. Hoping to fly to Miami for a couple of nights and then drive up to Disney.

Going between SSR, OKW and Wilderness Lodge - think we have rules out AKL as cant afford savannah room which is the only room i'd want to stay in!

Definately go for the 1 bed. We always stay in one and did so even before we had DD.

The 1 bed has so much more space and facilities than the studio (which is little more than a standard room with a wet bar).

The only downside is that once you have done it, you won't want a normal hotel room again.:scared1:

It's definately worth the 1 bed just for the fact yiou get a washing machine and tumble drier.

We have booked the 1 bed for this Sept, upgrade from the studio.

There will only be DH, myself and baby who will be about 15 months then.

We decided to u/g so that we would have the washer/dryer in room and for the kitchen. Also so we can put the wee man down in the travel cot at night in the bedroom and not have to sneak around him. IMHO it is well worth it even just for 2 of you. :thumbsup2

So it's just £300 more for the upgrade from a studio to a one bed? That's an absolute no-brainer in my view. A studio is effectively a hotel room with a small kitchenette. The one bed suite is more than twice the size with a lounge and full kitchen, washing facilities, a gorgeous master bedroom complete with whirlpool tub, and a separate room with standalone shower.

If you've seen photographs of a two bed, then you've seen the one bed. A two bed is actually a one bed and a studio combined. Have you checked out the 360 room tours?

For us the difference is £512 for 16 nights, If you like the space I guess its worth it for us it isn't. We had a 2 bed condo last Easter at Windsor hills, never used the living or dining area once, kitchen we used for the fridge to put bottled water in. Even £100 extra would be a complete waste for us, others prefer the space and would pay the extra.
