We have booked a 1 bedroom villa at VWL for our October stay and would prefer to be away from the part of the VWL that is near the bus depot in order to have a quieter location (we have small children and don't want to be disturbed by any noise). I am just curious if guests who reserve through WDTC or CRO are treated differently than DVC members in responding to room requests or if it is a first come--first served type of process. Does anyone know? Thanks.

I don't feel that anyone is treated differently, I have stayed in a Villa that was located on the side of the building closer to the bus stop we never heard the buses, there are trees that act as buffers. All request are just that request and not guaranteed, rather your a DVC Member or booked through CRO. The only request I ever make is near the elevators.

we arent dvc memebrs ....but when we went to the lodge we felt like we were members cause they didnt treat us any different than other members
we even got the "welcome home" verbal from the CMS and felt guilty casue we thought we didnt deserve the salute, but we just played along

I stayed in a 1br villa at the WL last October. I can tell you that you probably would not be able to hear the buses as we could not and stayed on the third level on the street side. These rooms are still 60 yards away from the bus stop. You are more likely to hear other guests than motor traffic. Anyway enjoy your stay. I know we did.
