1-800# for Canadians???

Alas, no.

The best thing I've found is to get a cheap phone card with 5-cent-per-minute rates to the U.S., and use that to call.

I also recommend buying a phone card and using it. I buy President's Choice phone cards and use them any time I need to call Disney and also when I'm at WDW to call Canada.

I do that as well - it is 4 cents a minute.

I think what the OP was asking if Disney had a 1 800 number, which unfortuitly it looks like they don't however the DCL has one for Castaway Club members maybe they could transfers you to WDW if you call them.

I use 1010710 from my phone when I don't have a calling card. You can talk up to 110 minutes(during the same phone call) for $0.99 which is much cheaper then any long distance with bell. The catch is that if you go over 110 minutes on that same phone call, then it's 0.04 per minute after that. I've never went over 110 minutes... that's almost 2 hours LOL

Thanks for the tip. I had never heard of it before, but I will be sure to use it in the future!

1010710 only works if your phone service provider has an arrangement with them. Still, there's no harm in trying it... the worst that can happen is that it doesn't work!

Here's a link to their FAQ page, with listings of the phone services they currently partner with:

Another catch for the 99 cents for 110 minutes is that if the call is dropped or you get an answering machine you end up paying 99 cents for a call as little as one minute.

My personal preference is for cards with no per call surcharge or connect charge even though the per minute rate is higher.

Almost all cards have a surcharge or an additional surcharge when you call from a pay phone.

By the way there is no general toll free number to WDW for Unitedstatians (Unitedstatesofamericans?) either.

LittleFlounder - when calling Canada from WDW do you call from your room or a pay phone? I think this may be good for us to pick up for our trip. I don't have a US plan for my cellular phone and this appears to be quite inexpensive if we get a $5 card.

Call from Skype! That's what I did when I called to add my flight info. Not free, but much cheaper!

I have called from my resort room phone and a pay phone. PC phone cards are 1-866 numbers and there is no charge to your room for 866 calls (or 800 calls). :thumbsup2

Since you can use the cards on basically ANY phone at WDW, for me, there is no reason to get a US plan for my cell phone. I'd much rather spend $5 or $10 on a phone card.

LittleFlounder - thank you! I'll be picking up a card here.

This is good information to know as I keep being told I have to buy one in the States.

I picked up a President's Choice $5 card so we'll have about two hours worth of calling from WDW.

Thanks again!

use google call phone -- it's free (for now) to make calls Canada/US.

luckily I work with DVC and we have a 1 800 number
