1/4/15 Western on the Magic

Hi! I really hope that there are other Dis'ers on our Western Cruise next January! There isn't a meet thread so I thought I would get one started.

I am Sheri, a wife, mom and teacher from Northern Nevada. This will be our 5th Disney cruise but we have never done the Western Caribbean. It will also be our first cruise without our kids!

It would be great to meet others going on the same cruise and set up a Fish Extender group and/or a Secret Mickey!

This will be our 4th cruise and 2nd time on the Western Caribbean. We booked western again because we wanted to do Key West. If only it weren't 266 days away

Hi CharlieSue!

What can you tell me about the Western? We have wanted to visit Key West, too!

We have a very busy 75 day ahead with 3 college graduations on 2 coasts, a wedding and two cross country moves! That will get us to the end of July and I begin a new school year of teaching that next week.

Once I get there I can begin counting down until our cruise. Have you done a fish extender exchange before? We have and I loved it!

Secret Mickey is like a secret pal at work, only it's on the cruise and it is only 1 person rather than the whole cabin! You find out what their likes and dislikes are and you leave them little surprises thought the cruise. Then towards the end of the cruise we plan a reveal. Just one more way we can add to the 'Magic'!

It does seem like a long way away, but the time sneaks up on me! I am a planner by nature and with everything we have coming up, it will be a good distraction for me!

Hello again ... I'm not on here much these days. Spring has sprung and we're spending most of our free time outside enjoying the nice weather

Our prior Western went to Grand Cayman, Costa Maya and Cozumel. However, we didn't get to Costa Maya because of rough weather - couldn't dock. So we enjoyed another day at sea

Grand Cayman - we loved the turtle farm!
Cozumel - we did the dune buggy drive around the island and it was great. We stopped at some little restaurant on the beach and had a light lunch and then continued the drive. Great way to see the island.

DD is graduating from college in two weeks and then she's going on a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas on the Dream with some friends. So jealous!!! Then she'll be joining us in counting down the days ... January is soooooo far away

I know how you feel, CharlieSue! Our weather is still tricky! One day is is warm and we are outside being active, but this week we had hail, rain and snow. It made staying in to get graduation invitations and announcements out a bit easier!

Our future daughter in law graduates from our university on May 16th, our son on May 28th. Her family is on the east coast but she stayed here to go to school (University of Nevada) and we our here but our son is on the East coast going to school and we are all traveling to both graduations!

Once summer is gone I will be in cruise mode and ready to plan! I am excited to see new ports and have new excursions!

Hi! 3PiratesAndAPrincess! Welcome! This hasn't been a very active thread - yet... I'm a novice when it comes to FB, so I cannot answer that question. Hopefully this thread will heat up this summer/fall as our date gets closer.
I made a payment today - which got me back here to check. My DD and I have been thinking about FE gifts already. We're a little excited about doing that.

Just booked our first Disney cruise on Friday. We are very excited about going. Originally we had looked at 3 and 4 day cruises, but all the reviews raved about DCL, so we decided to forgo the parks and spend the entire time on a cruise instead. I am Dana. I am a Registered Nurse in Boston, MA. I will be traveling with college friend, Emilie and Emilie's sister, Amanda. Emilie is applying to med schools and lives in Western Massachusetts. Amanda lives and works in FL. I will be celebrating my birthday early on this cruise. Looking forward to Fish Extender Exchange and all the magic that is Disney.

Hi everyone! This will be our 5th Disney cruise but I've not been in a FB cruise group yet! You will have to help me with that, please!

I am very interested in the FE gift exchange! So much fun on our past cruises.

Normally I am completely obsessed with our Disney cruises, but this year is overload for our family! Two college graduations on two different coasts, a July 4th wedding (our son and his lovely fiance) and a cruise to Alaska with all of the wedding party and families, then another cross country move for the newlyweds! Once home I will have a week before schools starts (I teach first grade)! Yikes!

Give me until late August and I will be all in, I promise. FE gifts already planned, DVC reservations made for the week before the cruise (Animal Kingdom Lodge) and magic bands ordered.

You are not the only ones, Princess Heather's Mom! We are coming and I think we have more family cruising with us. We just got home from an Alaskan cruise (not Disney) and I am ready to plan for our cruise!
