1,353 MILES! "Get Your Motor Runnin'" or "Leaving on a Jet Plane"?

Should Shocker attempt to devour the 48 ounce steak at Shula's?

  • No, he might get sick and ruin the rest of the vacation for Wigd.

  • Yes, he has the right to take this challenge.

Can't believe how late I am to join this party! Hopefully you're not one of those teachers who doesn't let you in the door after the bell rings...

Do you usually fly out from your hometown?

Great ADRs. We have only been to the Derby. How many of these will be new to you guys?

We have always flown out of Wichita but we are not adverse to using another airport.

We have only been to the Brown Derby and Les Chefs.

Wow, it is really a long way to drive! I mean, it is a long way no matter what, but when I sat down and went through the driving route my butt got more tired with every change of highways...:car:

I will be posting the route along with some special pics to accompany the more interesting names and places...:cool1:

I'm here!!!!! I've already been laughing at/with you, this is gonna be a really fun PTR. What do you mean it's far!!! Heck, that's a little jaunt. What do you mean books on tape, you are suppose to talk when you are together in the vehicle traveling!! Also, love the title!!! :)

Hi, I'm a sometimes poster, but more often lurker on your other reports or Wig'ds I should say.

Anyway, looks like we may be there at the same time. I'm going to follow along and (hopefully) post more on this one! :)

Late to the party as usual!! Ok the pic of the "carp" had me :rotfl2: Good thing my DH is sleeping in his recliner because he would definitely think I have lost my mind!!

LOVE the ADR's!!

My DH is a big Stephen King fan. I got him the new book for Christmas. I only have read one of his books-Pet Cemetery & that was enough for me. :scared1:

wow how did I miss a PTR that I knew about before everyone else did. LOL

I am a devoted Stephen King fan so I may be bringing more than Pennywise to this thread! :scared1:

I too am a devoted SK fan:goodvibes....have you read his latest "Under the Dome?" I have it here (it's HUGE!! :lmao:) but I haven't started it yet. Too busy shoveling snow every night. :sad2:

Tracy

Love me some Stephen King! :goodvibes I read the most recent book of short stories. I've seen "Under the Dome" and, Tracy, you're right. That book is GINORMOUS!!!! I think I'm going to have to wait until it comes out in paperbook though before I buy it!

The audio book for Under the Dome has 30 cds and is over 35 hours long! :scared1:

Those are the best ones to listen to on long drives. We have driven to WDW for each of our trips. For us it's much cheaper than flying and I love having a vehicle there.
(I'm very impatient and hate waiting for the bus.:rolleyes1)

That's just crazy!!! I can't do audio books. My mind wanders and I get to thinking about different things and next thing I know I've missed half the book and have to go back.

You won't have time to stop and smell the roses!! Keep on keepin' on!

By the way.. we drive all the time.. but only from NC! BUT, I can't take the buses. I am way too impatient to wait for them. I am great being patient as a teacher of Kindergartners, but NOT THE BUSES!!!!

:)

I taught kindergarten for 24 years....Teaching kindergarten is like trying to keep 20 corks underwater at the same time!

Ghosts, spinach and outhouses? Oh my!! This is going to be quite an adventure if you end up driving!! :goodvibes

Jillyb...I can't listen to books on CD either for the same reason :rotfl2: That last collection of short stories was really good! Best in a long time. :thumbsup2
